I had made a reservation on line via Email. The«hostess» was incredibly rude, and dismissed me as I walked in, unassuming I had a reservation or that I spoke French. She only stopped to tell me they were full. I then explained(in French) I had a reservation that i had made 2 weeks ago from Texas. She could not find it and didn’t help to accommodate at ALL. TOTALLY stone cold attitude. Fits the total French cliché’. We walked across the street, and had a lovely dinner, with great wine, at a MUCH more reasonable price.

We had lunch here and it was incredible! The courses were all perfectly prepared and the wine was fabulous — even the wines by the glass were amazing! The service was top notch!

I’ve had wine and appetizers in the afternoon outside facing west at the few tables on the sidewalk and full meals for lunch and dinner in the dining room. The coq au vin was wonderful and the fish was equally superb. The wines are amazing and assorted. A pretty, comfortable room with professional and elegant service.

This is the most charming tiny little hotel in the World. Book a room, arrive silently, drop your luggage and enjoy the calm of this small town. It’s only three stars, but oh-so-charming. At the restaurant, everything is amazing. It does not matter what you choose. Since this place lost their Michelin star around 2002, it has been fantastic. Pay extra attention to their amuse-bouches. The chef considers those his personal culinary expressions. Order a dish with a wine leaf and watch the waitress take it off a tree across the street. This place has the most impeccable Burgundy cellar I’ve ever seen. Beware of wines beyond their peak — what a difference compared to all the restaurants with 2005 as their oldest vintage! Note: Domaine Leflaive is right next door, but don’t expect to get in. Just buy some 20001er Cru(Les Follatieres, Pucelles or Batards) at the restaurant.

This hotel/restaurant is AMAZING. Absolutely amazing. The hotel is quaint and beautiful, and it’s just so quiet and peaceful. The restaurant is also fantastic — I’ve been trying to recreate their gougères for years, with failure every time. I am fortunate to have stayed here twice — once in 2006, and once in 2009. The first time, the dinner was the absolute best meal I’d ever had in my life, and my travelling companion agreed.(Though, I shamefully passed up the cheese course and I swear they remembered that when I returned in 2009. I’m sorry! I’m really, really sorry!) In 2009, though, our dinner(same travelling companion) was just shy of stellar. It’s like everything was just a little oversalted? I don’t know. I mean, it was still a world-class dinner, but… saltier. Don’t get me wrong — I’d go back again and hope to, but felt this was worth mentioning.(I did not pass up the cheese course this time.) That second dinner is what’s keeping me from giving it 5 stars. The service is indescribably elegant, and the wine list is just amazing. The breakfast is also phenomenal — make sure to have the quiche. It’s so creamy and delicate.
