A truly excellent place to stay. The hotel is quiet, comfortable, clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly and speak English well. The hotel grounds are breathtaking; it is a lush and serene oasis. There are no pictures that can do it justice, or describe the sweet smell of the flower garden. It is an easy walk to town(15 min, level). The complimentary breakfast is delicious, and the set menus at dinner(not included) are worth it! Just an incredibly calming and relaxing experience. Tip for visiting Provence and St. Remy — the easiest way to get here is rental car. This was my first time renting a car abroad — it is worth it, because there is so much to see in the surrounding small towns — busses run from Avignon, but no tours leave from here(versus many excursions and tours leave from Avignon). If you are adamant not to rent a car, I would not recommend staying here for more than a night if your goal is to cover as much of Provence as possible — take the staff’s suggestions for wineries to visit! And les baux de Provence is the most amazing hilltop medieval village to visit nearby!

Hotel 3 Stars Restaurant 4 Stars We stayed in Le Mas de Carassins for our last night in St Remy prior to heading to the TGV in Avignon the next morning. Having already spent two nights elsewhere in St Remy, this place was on some small side streets and was somewhat hard to find. After finding the place, we were delighted with how cute the garden was. We wish we had only came here during the warmer months. The receptionist was lovely, she spoke fluent English(I later learned that she studied in the States and spent quite a few years here). A little disappointed in our room. First of all the lock to the door was extremely hard to maneuver. Upon entering the room, there was a small alcove? where the toilet was in a separate room to our right, to our left was the tub and the duel sinks. Having the toilet and the sink across the hall didn’t make any sense to me, but it was only for one night so not complaining too much there. On the high note, we did opt for the dinner. The in-house restaurant was suppose to be one the of best in town so we decided to give it a try(I believe you must let them know if you want dinner or not while making your reservation). The receptionist doubles as a waitress at night, she was very friendly and explained all the dishes. It was nice to not have to venture out into town again to find dinner. We have probably already hit up all the top spots after spending a few days there since its such a small town. This was the first place we stayed where breakfast was included in our rate. So we packed up our stuff, loaded our trunk and proceeded to breakfast. Simple, croissants, breads, cereal, coffee, juice, some fruits. Checkout was a bit haphazard as the receptionist wasn’t in yet by the time we needed to go(8:30am). So the chef or kitchen aid who didn’t quite speak English checked us out. The bill was correct, but we had forgotten to give back the key, since she didn’t ask we forgot about it as we were in a rush to catch our train. We ended up mailing the key back to the hotel.

Lieu magique !
