The good: the American-style sushi rolls are pretty good. The bad: the service(meaning wait time for food) was shockingly slow. And when food does come, it comes with a «did you order this?»(Nope). They did apologize at the end for the slowness, so at least it was recognized… but no, we won’t be back.

Had lunch there and although the food was good… think they should do SOMEthing special for lunch. Ordered small sashimi and it seemed smaller than the last time I was here for dinner and paid same amount. Sashimi is one of the few things that is affordable in Guam. Pricing seems set for tourists, which will keep this sashimi lover’s visits not so frequent. He does have a small lunch-dine in only list. Why dine in only?

I’ve only been here once but I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to go back! The sushi was made of quality ingredients and had a beautiful presentation! :) We didn’t run into any service problems but we were there specifically for a sushi lunch on a weekday and chose to sit at the sushi bar(by the end of our lunch we were the only ones at the bar seats). We had the Rainbow Roll, Dynamite Roll(if you like spice, get this one! It was spicy but not so spicy that you couldn’t taste the rest of the ingredients in the roll), & the Spicy Hamachi. I’ve been craving sushi terribly since moving here from Hawaii and am beyond excited that I found a place to indulge my sushi needs!

The food is quality. The service blows. The service is never great. It’s mediocre at best. But when it’s bad, it’s really bad. I’ve eaten here a lot over the last few years, and in the past year or so, the quality of the service has declined. It’s really unfortunate, because the food is good. If you do eat here, sit at the Sushi bar. That way you can actually flag down a staff member who will serve you.

Service is one of the slowest in Guam, but the food is definitely worth the wait. So be careful about going there on an empty stomach. However, every single person I have introduced to this restaurant was impressed with their sushi. My personal recommendations are the Dragon Roll and(for those who like a bit of spice) Dynamite Roll. This place is closed on Sundays, but their weekday lunch specials are such a great find for the amount of food you get!

This is my favorite place for sushi on Guam. The service is sometimes slow but the food is great, affordable and filling. My favorite rolls are the 007 and tempura roll and I recommend the chicken katsu curry if you’re not in the mood for sushi.

I’m visiting from Hawaii and was disappointed by the service. We were the one of the first customers to arrive and it took an hour for us to receive our food. My friend asked for tartar sauce to go with her deep fried oysters and it finally took them 15 minutes to tell us that they ran out of sauce. Thank goodness we ordered sushi, that was quick even though the sushi bar was packed. If we didn’t order sushi we would’ve been starving. Too bad the service sucked the food was okay.

Sushi Ebisu opened in 2007 by the Nakamuras. Fumiya-san is the Sushi Chef and his wife is the cashier and head waitress. Although the name implies sushi, which they do have a small sushi bar with about 7 chairs, this restaurant also serves a lot of other traditional Japanese dishes. This includes donburi, udon, yakitori, nabe and other dishes, most of which cost around $ 10 with miso soup and pickled veggies included, even for dinner. They also have a $ 10 lunch special. Consequently, both Japanese tourists and local Chamorros and other Guamanians frequent here for the authentic Japanese food and the reasonable prices. We had edamame($ 4), Tempura Udon($ 10), Sashimi Set($ 18) and Chirashi($ 19.50). The Tendon was good, and the Sashimi was excellent and good deals. The Chirashi was disappointing, as it wasn’t served in a bowl, but a plate, and the Sashimi Set offers more fish and variety for less money, so order that instead. We also had an order of Ikura(Salmon Roe) Sushi($ 8), a soft shell crab($ 8) and 3 green tea ice creams($ 5.50 total for 3). The SoftShell crab was hot and tasty, but not the right texture. Perhaps the high humidity and heat of Guam rakes havoc on the tempura batter somehow, but the Tempura Udon and Soft Shell Crab weren’t covered enough or light and crispy enough. We also had 1 house hot sake($ 6) and 1 house large cold sake($ 18). They only had house, no brand names. I would guess they were both Shochikubai. The décor was clean and new and comfortable for couples, foursomes or larger groups. A lot of locals go here, and it got pretty crowded even on a Monday night. This is a good Japanese restaurant that offers decent value much less expensive than in the major hotels, and is Japanese owned and operated.
