A lovely little pub with a very open feel. The seats are very comfortable and occasionally there is good live music playing in the front! Last week there was a brilliant band called A Great Bunch of Lads playing Golden Oldies and people were propperly getting up and dancing, it was great! The staff here are great and it’s not too pricey either!

As the tumble weed blew through the bar on a Friday eve I remembered 20 years ago when Blackrock would have been heaving as the weekend kicked off. I was here to meet friends, it was perfect; no loud music, lots of space, no queue for the bar. It was brilliant!(I realise I have just described the most boring night ever for anyone under 23). Beer selection is not perfect but they have some craft beers in the fridge and a few on tap. Well enough to keep me and mine happy. We wobbled out very happy punters at about 1am on to the deserted streets of blackrock. We left of our own accord which I think means they probably stay open till 1.30.

The couches call to me ! «Come in … Sit … Drink … Read the paper» it’s really a big effort for me to resist ! It’s great to see a pub that is happy to have big comfortable oversized couches rather then worrying about how many people they can squeeze in. It really makes the front bar seem like a living room and it’s so welcoming and comfortable. They have a good selection of wine and craft beers. Definitely worth popping in here on a Sunday with the papers or after a big walk for some R&R

The front section of this bar has a nice relaxed feel to it; lots of wood, few couches, tables and old lamps. The back of the bar is not as atmospheric and lets the bar down a bit. I popped in here for a quick lunch and can’t really complain. I got soup and a sandwich for € 7.95, it was nothing special, but it hit the spot. The service was very quick, but a bit muted. I think the front section of this bar would be a nice place to relax with a pint and the paper on a lazy afternoon,

I like Conways in Blackrock. It is a comfortable pub with friendly staff. Nice variety of seating options; sofas, armchairs, booths, bar stools, etc. There are board games to play if your company isn’t up to scratch and there is also darts and pool. I’ve never actually been in the back of th pub but I think there is a big screen back there showing matches. Upstairs can be reserved for parties, not sure if there is a charge for this. The 6 Nations trophy was visiting the last time I was there.

I’ve walked by this place for a few months and had never gone in until yesterday. I went for lunch and to catch a rugby match. The place has a good feel to it. The staff are extremely friendly and didn’t mind me moving to another part of the pub when I realized there was only a television in the back room. The front is essentially a run of the mill dark wood pub, while the back has more of a living room feel to it. There’s a fireplace and a smoking area as well. I had the cheeseburger after reading another review on here, and it was alright. It was so big you can barely eat it, which is perfectly fine with me but it was a little bit dry(probably to make sure they cook it all the way through). The chips were really good though, and it was under 10 euro. They have a decent selection of Irish craft beer in bottles, and had Franciscan Well(one of my favorite breweries worldwide) on tap. I may not order the cheeseburger again when I go next time, but that’s mainly because I want to try the steak sandwich on their menu.

Very quiet on Saturday night. But it is a nice place for a pint. I was visiting friends and we decided to pop out for a beer late in the evening. It was relatively quiet, so we went in. Hadn’t been here is a good while. It is a very relaxed place and good for meeting firends.

A new arrival onto the already busy Blackrock scene, Conway’s is a welcome addition. Where every pub has a character and seeks its own distinct type of regular, Conway’s exudes a comforting, relaxed feeling suiting those without an agenda searching for a quiet pint or two in warm, unaffected company. Set into two distinct areas: an elongated narrow area from the front door with tables set opposite the long bar, it opens out into a fine back bar, boasting open fireplace, access to a covered smoking area and some large plasma TVs. Music is album orientated but never too intrusive here. Bar food is good at Conway’s. The last time that we ate we had attended a sporting event and were suitably refreshed and in need of sustenance. An excellent Club Sandwich and a superb Cheeseburger & fries were both less than a tenner each and hit the proverbial with aplomb. Still in search of its identity, Conway’s is still probably that pub where you meet before going out, or finish up at before you go home. The recent addition of a pool table might just keep some of you there a little longer.
