Had lunch here yesterday mid way through our cycle of the Loop Head Peninsula. Had the most amazing hake I had ever tasted, so fresh. Lovely menu with everything from standard fish & chips to crab and mussels. Also had had chicken & steak on the menu for anyone that does not like seafood. But seeing as the fish is literally caught on the doorstep it would be a shame not to sample it! Found the prices to be reasonable. Had lunch here as a group of 5, we each had a main course and coffee. The bill with a bottle of prosecco came to € 123, which is not bad considering the standard of the food. Highly recommend a visit if you are in West Clare.

Great pub, great food and really friendly owners. We each had the chowder which was super loaded with fresh fish. We split the seafood platter. It’s served cold with shrimp, prawns and smoked salmon. Sides of fresh salad, capers and onions and a tasty sauce for the shrimp and crab. Delicious food.

Awesome mussels and the cod was great too. We you randomly stop by this pub after visiting this small town. We saw people outside eating the mussels and seafood and it looked fantastic. The crab were great too. It took a wild to get our food but it was worth it. Inside you will see that they won many awards.

Highly recommended seafood restaurant in the little fishing town of Carrigaholt. It has earned some healthy praise from some pretty big names in the travel/lodging industry. We thought it was a cozy little pub with decent food but no better or worse than a thousand other little coastal pubs in Ireland. We were there in October(not tourist season) and sort of felt neglected by the two«servers» who spent most of their time talking to locals. We still enjoyed it because it was cozy and we just enjoyed each other and the food. Food was 4 star. Atmosphere was 4 star. Service attention was 2 stars. Selection was 3 stars. Price was about 3 stars. Biggest plus was it is the only restaurant open in the off-season between Kilkee and the point so it saves you a 20 minute drive if you are staying in Carrigaholt… and I do recommend staying in/near Carrigaholt. Three stars from me ain’t bad at all.
