Located in a handsome and spacious red brick building directly across from the established main campus of University College, Cork International Youth Hostel has gorgeous views along the tree-​lined river on Western Road and over the pretty houses of Sunday’s Well and the other branch of the Lee on the Mardyke side. A family-​run business, the Noonans and their staff are often commented on for their perpetual cheerfulness — nothing ever seems to get to them! The all en-​suite rooms, available with two through to ten beds, are kept perfectly clean and tidy, as are the massive downstairs restaurant and living areas (breakfast, a packed lunch and dinner are available for an additional fee, but there’s no problem with eating your own food there). As it’s accessible 24 hours a day with no curfew, you can fully sample all the entertainment Cork has to offer without fear of lock-​out. And with prices ranging from € 50.00 for a two-​bed room down to € 16.00 per person for a 10-​bed dorm room, even the poorest students can afford to stay!
