Wowzers! Seeing great reviews about this place decided to give it a shot and we are so happy we did. It was packed when we arrived and were told there was a waiting time of 20 – 30 mins and asked if we wanted to wait upstairs at the bar. We went upstairs to another bustling bar with quite a few people waiting. However we got a seat at the bar and ordered cocktails. Before we knew it we were called and seated downstairs. We orderes the the original and the smokey with yam fires and filthy truffle fries. OMG it was amazballs. The burgers were melt in your mouth and the fries were delicious and full of flavour. The staff were really chatty and welcoming eventhough the place was packed and they were obvisouly very busy they still took the time to have a chat! We will be back most definatly!

We were passing through Cork for lunch during a road trip, and Unilocal came to the rescue yet again with an excellent recommendation. I got the Ranch Chicken Burger, and it’s not often I order a chicken burger because they are so often dry and disappointing, but this one was incredible. The chicken was juicy and moist, and so flavorful! The sauce and toppings were excellent, especially the sweet potato fries I got which were perfection, crispy and just the right amount of salt. Food service was so fast, which we were grateful for(we were starving). Their entire menu is so tempting, even plenty of sides like chorizo fries, all of which I’d love to try. We were glad to see they had covered outside seating because we were with our dog and it was raining and quite cold, but the staff were so friendly and helpful, they turned on the heater just for us and brought our dog some water. The inside looked beautiful and cozy and next time we are in Cork we will definitely stop by again(and hopefully sit indoors).

Was very disappointed with this place, got the buffalo wings for starter and they definetly came out of a microwave, they were scalding hot and not crispy one bit, when I was ordering the burger I had a good look through the menu and got the coq bull burger, which is basically a bacon cheese burger with coq bull sauce but is a euro more expensive, when the burger came it was dry and over done and there was a little dot of the coq bull sauce in the middle, about the size of a euro coin, I asked for a corona and was given a warm bottle of sol, Will not be going back !

This place had the best burger I’ve ever had so far in life, and if you ever read my reviews I’m very picky. We also got the chorizo fries which I hope I can find back in the States. It was VERY good. We also got the bacon mac and cheese which I wouldn’t really recommend. It was soggy, soupy, not very interesting. I’m not sure if its a UK thing, but the bacon wasn’t crispy either. So if you like soupy, very cooked noodles with barely done bacon cut into quarters you might like this one. But again, BESTBURGER I’VEEVERHAD, and the chorizo fries are a MUSTTRY.

Visited here a couple weeks ago with some coworkers. As a vegetarian(or pescetarian) I was a bit worried, but I shouldn’t have been. They have some delicious sounding and looking salads, as well as a «falafel» burger, which — though messy — hit the spot. Very filling!

Amazing lunch. Place is listed for burgers but their chicken was incredible. Kids had the kids portion with mashed potatoes and loved it. Farm salad and burger was great. The unnecessary side of mac and cheese also hit the spot. Not the best beer menu but food was great

Stopped in here after a day of shopping and sightseeing. Had heard of it and that it was good… and it was. We had a couple of drinks and dinner. i had a delicious burger and can’t recall what my GF had but I’m sure she loved it. I’m glad we were able to check out this institution.

I went there for lunch and ordered the bacon bull with coleslaw. I asked medium rare for the cooking of the meat and it was almost well done, so I was slightly disappointed. Then I think the buns are just too big compare to the filling which makes the whole burger quite stodgy, all the more as the Coqbull sauce is too sparsely spread. I wouldn’t mind more crispy salad, onion, tomato and tastier cheese and less bread. The fries are good and crispy but the coleslaw was very basic and acidic, without being slightly sweet and so creamy. The staff is nice and friendly but the music definitely too loud. Eating with dance and rnb music is a weird combination.

Great atmophere. Loved the music. Got the platter to share to start and the blue cheese burger for the main. I got sweet potato fries which weren’t the best. They kind of tasted like pancakes oddly enough. Also had a raspberry mojito which was delicious.

I traveled all the way from Orange County, California to try the best food in Ireland, and Coqbull is it. But before we get to the food, let’s talk about the venue, staff, and libations. Firstly, the venue is unique and beautifully decorated. I would describe it as modern urban meets rustic farmhouse. Very nice feel to it that is inviting, comfortable, and clean. See photos! The staff, much like the Irish people, is friendly and helpful. We asked for some recommendations and were given some excellent choices. More on the food later. Drinks are always an important part of the meal, and we were happy to see that Coqbull offers a selection of craft beer from Ireland, all of which sounded like excellent compliments to the food. We ended up with a porter and a blonde ale that were both great. We also ordered a cocktail that came in a pewter cup, it was fantastic — but mostly was ice. The food! My goodness, the food. Burgers, Ribs, and Mac n Cheese were our meal. All three were delicious. The rib was my favorite, and I wish I could tell you more about it, but I do know it was basted in a sweet glaze and had a beautifully flavorful layer of fat that, as an American, I have never seen on a rib. The burger we ordered was so mouthwateringly delicious, my mouth is getting excited just thinking about it. The beef patty was fresh, as were the all the ingredients, and most were locally sourced. When we got the Mac, we about had a mouthgasm. The cheese blend was perfect– creamy, stringy, and a beatiful aroma with just the right amount of browning from being baked in the oven. We left fully satisfied and very happy to have found Coqbull. I recommend that YOU find Coqbull, and experience it for yourself. ENJOY!

Visiting cork from New York. Stumbled upon coqbull. Interesting name. To our surprise, the burgers and drinks were delicious! Trendy(not overly), casual and new. Great find. Only has been open one week. If you’re from NYC, think bareburger but better.
