The best Japanese and sushi restaurant of cork for me! The sushi are really good and pretty affordable! Reminds me the ones I could eat in Tokyo! I totally recommend it and the staff members are really nice ! Thanks!

Very good and satisfying. Quite authentic too. As a tourist, I can’t say about prices, but they seemed fair to me. We had excellent gyozas, excellent seafood ramen, and good fried prawns, but I didn’t think much of the sauce that came with those.

Brilliant place. Very good quality sushi, and Asian dishes. Modestly priced, unpretentious. Friendly Dutch owners.

I was a bit disappointed with Dashi, having been foiled in my previous attempts to eat at Cork’s only(?) sushi restaurant. We ordered two bento boxes containing 8 pieces of sushi, some noodles, wasabi and ginger. I knew we were in trouble when the plastic platters came out. The sushi itself wasn’t very fresh and was surprisingly tasteless. It’s a pity when you think about Cork’s reputation for seafood and that Dashi is about two minutes walk from the English Market. All in all, a pretty average meal.

i would agree with the last reviewer, maybe a little on the pricy side, a bento box 2 was 13.50 and not a whole lot of sushi there. in saying that, the sushi itself was nice and fresh and well made. they used crab roll? i have no idea why… terrible stuff, make sure you ask for any sushi without it and the wasabi is def for the irish market, not incredibly spicy. i would def visit again, as the sushi was good.

I was so excited to try out this place! I’ve never experienced Sushi in Ireland in anywhere other than Dublin because it’s unfortunately just not available! So I thought Cork would be a real treat. I arrived into town at 11am ready to have my sushi breakfast, but alas it wasn’t open until 12pm so I meandered around town, getting a greater appetite and returned back promptly a 12pm, I was so happy to see the door was open! :) I ordered the salmon sushi, which you can see if you view my pictures of the place, the girl who served me was polite and friendly. What suprised me was the size of the sushi when I received it, it was tiny! So small! My heart sank when I saw the size of it, 8 pieces, each piece was about the size of 2 euro coin. This cost me 8.50, so value for money it definetly isn’t. I was still hungry after it! I can’t fault the food though, it was fresh and tasty with some unusual herbs thrown in I hadn’t experience before, very nice. I had a look at their bento boxes, and they were over 9 euro and looked very small too with very small side portion of salad. Lovely food but tiny portions. Hopefully in the future they could make bigger portions for the same money, because both my tummy and purse felt very empty by the time I left!
