I used to be a regular until two instances stopped me. The first, before Christmas was blue and soft. The manager, I believe, confirmed it was some kitchen roll used for cleaning and accidentally made its way into my chicken ramen. My meal was replaced as no extra charge. Despite the above, I continued to visit the store, as myself and my daughter quite enjoy the lunch menu and the freshness of the food. Between finding the kitchen paper in my meal and 2 weeks ago I had no further cause for concern. However, I decided as a holiday treat, we would visit the restaurant after school for lunch. I ordered chicken ramen as usual and gyoza. However, not even being a quarter through the meal, I felt something I my mouth. I took it out and what I found made me retch. A finger nail. It could not be mine, as I have gel nails, and my daughters nails are kept short. This was a fairly long one, straight on three edges as expected and jagged on one as if it was ripped off. Now when I spoke to the waitress she was very apologetic and went to the kitchen. When she returned she explained she would remove the meal from the bill, but that the object was not a finger nail(though it quite clearly was, the other 2 adults at the table agreed it looked like one) but a piece of plastic. Now, I am SURE it was a finger nail, I am just sorry I did not photograph it. Once I can excuse, but twice and being told blatant lies? Unacceptable. I have eaten in less than desirable locations in other countries, and never ever once found anything that wasn’t declared on the menu in my food. Would I go again? Not a hope!

Great food and great service — it’s that simple. I never venture far from the Chicken Katsu Curry, which is great. Their juices are worth a try also.

Wagamama’s is SO good. Asian food is my favorite, and I’ve consumed lots of it in my lifetime. But this place is just absolutely amazing. Fusion food, so there’s something for everyone. I’ve had their ‘egg rolls’(I forgot what they were called) as well as the ginger cheesecake. Heaven. My favorite dish is yaki soba, but I’ve tried the soup and the rice dishes as well, and they’re equally good. The cafeteria table setup is interesting, but doesn’t bother me. Absolutely no complaints or qualms about this place. If you like thai/fusion food at all, you’ll love it here.

3 words chocolate wasabi cake. I am a big fan of wagamamas because of the quick service and great atmosphere. There a a very wide choice of main courses and sides. Def a place to go for a group dinner

Wagamamas is great if you’re looking to call if for a quick lunch or dinner. The restaurant is in a canteen style with long benches that you share with other diners, the atmosphere is usually relaxed and the staff are all friendly(or at least have been when I’ve been there.) Most people can find something on the menu that they will love, the Udon noodle dishes are a personal favourite but chicken katsu curry is also really good. Food comes out as it is ready so all of your table don’t necessarily get there food at the same time. This does ensure that food it piping hot and freshly cooked. Wagamamas is not the place to go for a romantic intimate dinner, the canteen style seating sees to that. However if you are looking for a quick bite, a somewhat healthy lunch, or filling up when you have a hangover — wagamamas is the place!

Loved the vegetarian yasai katsu curry with sweet potatoes, and the chocolate wasabi cake was divine!

If you want good asian food you’re probably not going to do better in Cork. We’re a wee bit weak in this category and Wagamama(a popular chain) is reliable with friendly service and nice value.

What more can I say?! Wagamama is a fun dining experience and there’s something for everyone. The service is fast, friendly and efficient and kids are well catered for.

I realised that Cork had officially made it as a player on the global stage in 2005; not because it was made European City of Culture in that year, but because it gained a branch of Wagamama! There’s something about this chain that breathes new life into old ramen bars; maybe it’s the slick, modern and minimalist design of each restaurant that seems so authentically Japanese. Personally, I’m always impressed by the high-tech electronic«notepads» the waitstaff carry to beam your order direct to the kitchen, as well as the innovative marking of each person’s placemat so the other waitstaff know who’s ordered what — I’ve never understood why more places don’t do the same. Or it could be the fresh, tasty food; there’s a reason most of the people I know own at least one Wagamama cookbook — noodley nom nom! It’s cleverly served as soon as it’s cooked, too, so yours doesn’t have to be reheated when your friend orders the slowest thing on the menu. The ideal place for people on a diet, with a wide range of fresh juices and naturally low-fat Japanese food, they offer the option to have some dishes fried or not, depending on your preference — and your waistline! Unlike a lot of other Japanese restaurants which seem to depend heavily on sushi, Wagamama can cater for most kinds of dietary requirement. A vegan friend who I dragged along was pleasantly surprised by the range of food he was offered, as noodles are the order of the day here. Whether you’re looking for somewhere for a quick lunch, or an exquisite dinner — konnichiwa, Wagamama!
