During my visit with my family in Cork my hair was in need of a good cut. Being an avid traveler and hearing about the Turkish barbers it was a no brainier to seek one out. Because of the proximity to Turkey compared to America it was hard to choose the right one for the job. After walking up and down MacCurtain St a few times looking and speaking to a few pros I found Franco’s was the right one. Nico, whom I think is the owner gave me a warm welcoming upon looking into his shop. The place was very clean and there not a lot of people, just a laid back barber shop with a very professional look and feel. He sat me in the chair and asked a few questions about how he could tailor my cut. Might I add that my premise for the Turkish barber was the straight razor shave. So, I included my need for a shave too. He then went to work on my mop of a head to and beard to make it a master piece. He took his time all the while we had a very interesting conversation. I would say that next time I’m back in Cork, I’ll definitely be giving this barber shop a visit. They are very good at what they do and their precision is what they live by.
