I have to start this review by noting that I’m not one of those people who regards going the hairdresser as on a par with a spa day. Quite the converse in fact. I find it utterly stressful! While the dentist will have to give me a nudge to wake me up after he’s finished my root canal, I’ve been found clung to hairdresser’s chairs in tears bemoaning the loss of my hair… I LOVE this place. I found it by accident when I happened to be walking along the quay one day and my eye was drawn in by sparkly things. The sparkly things were the chandeliers and ornate gilt mirrors that form the décor of this quirky salon. Gorgeous by Wyatt is really unusual. It’s small and cosy with a comfy couch to wait on. The reception desk is a piano and art by Gerrard(the owner) is on the walls. A jukebox in the corner pumps out tunes. Staff are incredibly friendly and actually make an effort to get to know you-even if, like me, your visits are intermittent. Refreshments are provided while your masterpiece is created. I’ve had great cuts here and have also had my hair done for 2 weddings by Gerrard. It was amazing both times. I’ll try to post a picture if I can find one later. In summary: funky, great hair, reasonable prices and the friendliest staff. I love it! But don’t go. I want to be able to get an appointment when I want one… ;-)
