Newport Restaurant

My warm chicken salad was good. I feel for the servers as no one has organized who is responsible for the tables they are to serve. The waiters were very kind but the need to be managed and told what tables they are assigned. The people at the table next to me walked out before ordering due to the wait. Sad as the food was quite good and I came back the next day. Manage this place and it will do better…

Poorly trained servers! They left us waiting at the table for 20 minutes before ordering. The pint of Guinness took 25 minutes to get to the table though the Heineken that was ordered at the same time took 10 minutes. Silverware was missing. The food wasn’t bad, but we only ordered burgers so, that’s kind of difficult to mess up! After waiting 20 minutes for the bill, I got up and asked our server about it. He was completely frazzled at this point with other things – and, the restaurant was not full. He was a nice, young kid, but– he was in way over his head.

We went there for dinner on a rainny day. So we stayed inside.
Its a very nice restaurant. The lights and music are not intrusive: cosy atmosphere.
Prices are reasonnable and they offer a wide range of dishes: pastas, salads, burgers, seafood dishes, … The food we had — a chicken ceasar salad and a chicken burger — was very well-​balanced, fresh and tasty! Plates were empty at the end even there were way enough food on them!
The only thing that wont give them a 4 star note is the service: we had been forgotten at the beginning and we had to wait 30 minutes to get the bill since they didnt give us after the end of our dinner…
Something to remerber: the toilets inside are at the 3^rd floor. You must tqke the elevator which is funny because unusual!

Pretty nice restaurant, extended menu, big television screens indoors, I guess when sports isn’t on they like to play popular videos. Lady Gaga’s «Telephone» was on when we were there. My friend and I sat outside and we could still hear the music on the loudspeaker. It was a nice day, but still they turned the heat lamp on for us. Wonderful heat! I had a mushroom soup and an ham, cheese, and tomato panini. There was sooooo much mayonaise on the sandwich though… the Irish love them some mayo, I guess. The soup was good, but the sandwich was average at best. Pretty decent place I guess, but I doubt I’ll go back again since I’m sure there are so many better places to eat in Cork.
