after going on a unexpected journey through Southern Ireland, we ended up in beautiful dingle and wandered inside mark’s restaurant. that’s where we had our first official fish n’ chips in ireland and it was delicious! the monkfish was so tasty and the chips were perfect. mark was friendly and even guided us on our way…20 mins later we were driving on connors pass with a full belly and we were off to our new destination. thanks mark!

I was looking forward to visiting here again but was sadly let down this time. Chips weren’t properly cooked and the fish didn’t taste anything like as fresh and delicious as last time. Not sure what’s up, but hopefully it was just a blip and not a slipping of standards.

Okay. If you’re from the country. These handcut chips are awesome. If from the city it’s like a really poor attempt at burdocks or lennox. Burgers are fab, fish fresh. Very pricey. Chips aren’t great. Ignore locals(I’m one) who claim the chips are amazing. You got to remember they don’t experience the handcut chips of the city. So the place is somewhat of a novelty in town. As takeaways go though. Give it a shot. It’s immaculate in terms of hygiene. And definitely trumps the other chippers in town.

The best fish and chips I’ve ever had, anywhere! Super fresh, and delicious. They serve only what is fresh that day, caught locally. We were driving through Dingle and stopped for a pint and a walk. Saw the sign with the daily selections posted and decided that we were hungry too. So happy that we chose to park just down the street or we may have missed a true gem of a meal. One order of hake(ordered on the recommendation of the shop keeper) was more than enough for the two of us to share. Blazing hot and perfectly cooked, this is what all other fish and chips want to be! A larger place with more seating(and beer) would be nice, but it is a take away place after all. I wish we had stayed over in Dingle so that we could have tried the burgers. Maybe on our next visit to Ireland. Oh, don’t miss the tartar sauce, it is AMAZING!

The best fish and chips in the world? In my experience, it could easily be. Amazing, fresh, tasty and cooked to order. Even if you’re not stopping in Dingle, it’s worth coming down for just for this place.

If you want fish & chips in Dingle there is only one place to go and that’s Reel Dingle Fish. Although relatively new to the market they have perfected the fish & chips formula to a tee. The fish is all sourced locally, the batter is delicious and the chips are home cut and have that perfect mix of crunchy and mushy. Yum. And for those not into fish, their West Kerry Burgers are amazing too. Should be noted that there is very little seating, just a small bar with a couple of stools so best to takeaway.
