Great place for award winning traditional Irish music. We highly recommended O’Flaherty’s with music starting at half 9 in the evening. Great crowd, cold Guinness and good company!

There are few things in Ireland as good as the traditional music.(They call it «Trad».) Couple this with a cold brew and an environment that you’d only find in a movie, and you’d have O’Flahtery’s. Not to be missed if you’re in town and the local musicians are playing!

Come around 9:30 during the season. For phenomenal music sessions. Bring your instrument, but observe good session etiquette… wait to be invited in! This pub is spacious and open with a wonderful outside patio. Family owned and operated, it’s stood as a central part of the Dingle pub scene for decades. Inside you’ll find lovely pints, a broad selection of fine whiskeys, and all the craic you could need — usually starting around 9:30 for music. The pub does a brisk tourist trade, but is also frequented by friendly locals with fine stories to tell. Sessions are anchored by the owner, Fergus O’Flaherty, who is warm and welcoming to guest musicians and plays just about every stringed instrument imaginable as well as singing with a great, powerful voice. The pub does have WiFi for guests, inquire at the bar for the password, and they are linked on Facebook for your«like-ing» needs.

Do you love Guinness? Of course you do! Excellent pint of black here. Difficult to get seating. Not so much cos its busy. But the layout is poor. Bathrooms are spotless, glasses/tables/counters etc are likewise. Good banter, good customer service, authentic. Not too touristy :)

O’Flaherty’s is a great, authentic place to listen to traditional Irish music in Dingle! The owner Fergus O’Flaherty is an incredibly talented musician who sings & plays multiple instruments. He performs nightly starting around 9:30pm and you never know what other local musicians may stop by to play. Get there by 9pm if you want to get a seat and also because Mr. O’Flaherty only plays a short set. You can get a nice pint of Guiness or Crean’s and the staff is very friendly. Before and during the music set the place will be packed with tourists, but if you hang around after the music finishes most of the tourists leave and the place fills up with locals. All around a very cool place to hang out in Dingle.

We recently spent two nights in Dingle and loved O’Flaherty’s pub with its traditional Irish music. If you are lucky, the owner will also sing… his voice is amazing! Strong and clear and full of emotion. As bonus we stayed at his wife’s B&B which is on the road to Conor’s pass. Wonderful lady, great breakfast and she will gladly drive you to town if needed. I happened to be sick one night there and Angela took care of me as if I was her own daughter. Highly recommend both!!!

We liked this small bar. Cozy. Had some good music. Also, it had a Milwaukee Irish Fest sticker, which made us feel at home.

Good place to catch some more traditional Irish music. We saw a trio alternately playing the flute, guitar, mandolin, and accordion. The décor is noteworthy, lots of posters, news-clippings, and signs in Irish. The tables are barrels, which get crowded on a Friday night. I was surprised the crowd was so loud, it was hard to hear the music at times!

If you stop off in Dingle town, or Baile an Daingean, you’ll be in the most westerly town in Europe! The only town on the Dingle peninsular is a mass of tempting bars,(there are around 50), but particularly you’d do well to seek out O’Flaherty’s. It’s a very well known live music venue in Dingle, and a very characterful place with its flagstoned floor and high ceiling, it’s one big barn of a room. The walls, if you’ve time to read or can get near enough, are a mine of information both on local & more general Irish history. As our group were typically the last to leave, I had time to peruse a lot of this! I’d heard it was quite touristy, but maybe thats high season, when I was here in October there was an lot of Irish being spoke, very strong Irish speaking tradition in this peninsular. The landlord Fergus O’Flaherty has been an active member of the campaign to restore Dingle’s original name: Daingean uí chúis, or the fortress of Hussy,(the Hussy’s apparently being a flemish family who built a castle here in 13th C.). indeed in 2005 the government duly allowed the gaeltach,(Irish speaking), to have precedence, and the anglicised name Dingle was officially done away with, on some signs however the name has been painted back, maybe by concerned locals who are worried the all important tourists for the area might get lost! It’s the best bar for evenings, more space than Dick Macks. It’s got a truly great atmostphere, the Guinness is everything it should be, and the prices reasonable. As I said our contingent was the last to leave, and no one was hurrying us out! So have a nice jar here and Sláinte Mhath!
