Have been there a few times already. The food is good but pricey. Cake + coffee + bottled water for 2 was nearly 20 euros. Best place to seat is at the back of the room. The tables on the front are just beside the escalate and people going upstairs keep staring at your food. The don’t mean any bad, it is just not cool

This café is my bestie, I always go there, they have fab éclairs and fab latte and if I’m in hurry I always go and get éclairs take away because can’t resist them when I see them in my way down on the escalator.

meh it was alright. I just wanted a cup of tea and some cake, and Brambles was handy for where I had to wander off to. A cup of tea did set me back 2.20 which is a bit overegging considering that while you do get a pot, it’s only the size of a cup. And it was just regular tea, not even a speciality tea which I get from time to time. I also got a cupcake, which was also adequate. Tea and a cupcake set me back about a fiver, which is actually really steep. On the plus side my cupcake was pink and sparkly — you’d be amazed at what that makes up for. I’ll try some other place next time.

Put up a little tiling and get in the blue LED light fixtures and there’s no limit to the prices one can put on factory junk… at least, that’s the lesson I take from Brambles café in Jervis. Actually, Brambles is pretty much everywhere now –and that’s a surprise. From what I can see, little to none of the food on display here or at any of the other shops is actually home made. As an American, I can recognise a SYSCO-style pie when I see one. I’m disappointed in the business this under-the-eaves café does in its Jervis Centre location; queues out the door on weekends, gritty cups of espresso(overpriced to boot) and a counter of pies, quiches and sandwiches that outprice Powerscourt while under-delivering on taste. My only visit here came on a joint shopping expedition when the other member of the party needed food and a place to sit. The staff behind the counter did smile, but had little clue as to the food they were serving up. Certain dietary restrictions meant we had to be very careful what we ate, and asking our server if those were layers of pasta in the vegetable pie or just cleverly processed aubergine were met with a blank look and a slow turn away. Insulting. No, wait… getting to the register and being charged € 35 for two plates(one main, two salads) plus two espressos… ok, that was insulting.

PROS: *central location in Jervis centre *large portions(which makes the higher price feel more worth it) CONS: –poor customer service –tables dirty and/or not cleared –overpriced for the value The benefit of this place is its central location in Jervis centre, although the other reviews have a good point about its actual physical location under the escalators and stairwells. I’ve lived in Dublin for 3 months now and had heard good reviews of this place until recently. POORCUSTOMERSERVICE: 2 stars due to customer service alone. I was given the wrong dish(I ordered salmon roulade, was given chicken roulade because, in hindsight, the roulade loaf was labeled incorrectly). Mistakes happen, I’m understanding. However, good customer service should at least include an apology for their mistake, followed by an attempt to correct the problem. When I told the worker, she said«let me see.» — as if I’m lying about the incorrect dish I received?! They both looked at me as if to say, «And?» I then pointed out to them that the roulade loaf was mislabeled, so they just took out the toothpick label. They just stood there and looked at me. I then explained to them that I cannot eat chicken, to which one girl said«well, we don’t have any salmon roulade left.» Clearly! The other girl said i could just have the salmon and leek tart instead. Fine, grand. Knowing they were going to take a few minutes to microwave it, I asked if I could have my plate of sides back while I waited for the food to heat. They looked dumbfounded, as if it were such an odd request. In the end, they gave me back my sides on the plate and brought over the tart a few minutes later, finally with an insincere«sorry». FOODQUALITY/VALUE: For food quality, it’s so-so. The salmon and leek tart was good, but a bit bland. A nice amount of salmon. The 2 sides(I chose broccoli with goat cheese along with cabbage salad) were tasty but nothing special. An upside: the portions were large enough that I made 2 meals out of this, which is great for a student budget. Price of meal, including 2 sides and some lettuce was € 11.95. The desserts looked yummy, but I didn’t try them and doubt I will after this experience. Wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re famished and have no other options, which luckily isn’t really the case around Jervis.

The average Brambles customer may be content just to be sitting down — there is sometimes a velvet rope situation, where, ridiculously, people queue up to wait for a seat. In a café. In a shopping centre. However, they should be on the alert while they are munching on their average sandwiches, ciabattas, scones, cakes and pastries. Essentially, they are sitting ducks. Brambles is located directly under the escalators in the Jervis Street Shopping Centre and jealous shoppers who are unable to get a seat themselves can use this opportunity to show their displeasure by spitting on them/accidentally on purpose dropping fatally heavy objects.

Don’t expect too much from Brambles. It basically works like a cafeteria where you queue to order, your food is dished onto plates, you’re given a tray and you can eat where you like. I always wondered about this place because I must have looked at the food a million times as I travelled down the escalator in the Jervis Centre. I always asked myself what happens if someone on the escalator sneezes or drops something. Would this contaminate the food? I didn’t find out the answer to this question, but I did discover that the ham quiche served here is pretty delicious. It’s a tad expensive(10 Euro) but you get a choice of two salads. The salads weren’t as good as the quiche. The food here beats the other places on the top floor so I might consider coming back.

This place is crap. Absolutely nothing special about it at all — mediocre food(sandwiches, cakes etc) at overpriced prices. Plus, it also has the terrible location of being situated practically right under two escalators. How atmospheric.
