Bunsen

Ich liebe Burgers über alles und als manche meine Kollegen zum Abendessen Burger essen wollten, gab es für mich keine Zweifel, dass ich so was auslasse. Bunsen sind sehr beliebt und man sollte zum Abend unbedingt eine Reservierung haben. Die wird immer für maximal 4 Leute gemacht. Die Wartezeit kann man aber ruhig irgendwo anders mit einem Getränk in der Hand totschlagen, Bunsen haben eine App und da sieht man, wenn man drann kommt. Mega cool und aktuell finde ich.
Das Menü ist genauso groß wie eine Visitenkarte. Mehr braucht man auch nicht. Die Auswahl ist zwischen klassischen Burger, Cheese– und Doppelburger, wobei man immer zwischen Medium und Well Done bestimmen kann, Dazu gibt es Pommes, ich hatte die Sweet Potato Fries und ich konnte davon nicht genug haben. Sausen wie Ketchup und Mayo sind auf dem Tisch und man kann sich selber so viel nehmen, wie man will. Falls ich noch Platz im Magen hätte, würde ich auch noch einen Milkshake bestellen. Probiert habe ich den von meiner Freundin und es war ein Traum. Einzige Lücken siehe ich bei der Wartezeit von Bestellungennehmen. Wir haben auf jeden Fall über 15 Minuten gewartet, bis die Kellnerin kam und unsere Bestellung genommen hat. Beim großen Hunger ist das bisschen unangenehm.

Burger sind in Dublin ein großes Thema und Bunsen scheint einer der beliebtesten Läden der Stadt zu sein — darauf deutet zumindest die Wartezeit hin, die es braucht bis man einen Tisch bekommt. Zum Glück kann man aber auch im Pub nebenan warten und wird dann angerufen wenn ein Tisch frei ist.
Es geht hier schlicht zu, vom Ambiente wirkt es wie ein jugendliches Fastfoodlokal und auch beim Bestellen gibt es kaum Optionen — ich finde das eigentlich super. Der Burger ist sehr lecker und dazu gibts auch noch gute Milchshakes, also wirklich alles, was das kalorienbeflügelte Herz sich so wünscht.

Now, people claim this is the best burger in Dublin. That, I can’t say.
But I can say that we wanted a burger and dammit, did it deliver. I got a solid meaty burger with delicious sweet potato fries and a milkshake, what more could you want?
This place was packed but we put down our name and they texted me a link where we could see our spot in the queue (that was awesome and I wish more people would do it.) We thought we were going to have a table of four and our friends would have to sit elsewhere but they had a party cancel so we all sat together. Win!
There isn’t a lot on the menu, just a couple of options of burgers and some sides, but they were all tasty. They could have used hot sauce (no hot sauce! At all?! Seriously!) and the food could have come a little faster, but overall, it hit the spot for sure.

Bei Bunsen bekommt man klassische Burger ohne viel Schnickschnack. Die Karte passt auf eine Visitenkarte. Aber mehr braucht es auch nicht.
Das Fleisch ist perfekt, die Bedienung hat gefragt wie es gebraten werden soll und genau so kam es auch.
Das Brot ist mir persönlich zu weich, aber es stört absolut nicht.
Wer in Dublin Burger sucht sollte sich hier her bewegen.

OK, so the burgers here are good. Honestly, what I like about this place though is they keep it simple. In this day and age, so many restaurants try and get all fancy with their burgers, adding in all kinds of ingredients and twists. And hey, don’t get me wrong, I do like myself a chick pea patty-​half bun-​veggie burger-​with caramelised onions etc etc (jo’burger, I’m looking at you), but often times you just want a burger. Just a good quality meaty burger without too much fuss. Queue Bunsen, which is just that. Their meat is quality, they come with the usual toppings: pickles, tomato, onion, mustard. No fussing about, just choose whether you want cheese on your burger, two patties and pretty much off you go.
All that said, that’s if you’re lucky enough to get a table! This place is busy and they don’t take bookings. So my advice would be: plan to go here before you get hungry. You’ll be putting your name down, then heading for a pint or two nearby before your table will be ready for you. By that point you will be hungry, so get your name down on the list before you’re ready to chop your own arm off and eat it from hunger. It is worth it though!

Sí, tomen nota: En Bunsen tienen unas de las mejores hamburguesas que haya probado ever. Posta que son una delicia, grandes y sabrosas, la carne es un lujo y el pan sumamente rico. Las papas fritas también son excelentes y así pueden tener en su mesa el combo de los sueños.
Hay que decir que el local tiene toda la onda, bien influenciado por el universo hipster, Bunsen nos ofrece un sitio impecable, muy bien arreglado, limpio y totalmente moderno. La atención es excelente y –como dije anteriormente– lo fundamental es lo mejor, o sea las hamburguesas.
No será el local más económico de todos, pero sí que vale la pena y los precios resultan muy acordes a la calidad del producto que ofrecen, porque todo en Bunsen es súper rico. Si es que quieren escapar de la típica gaseosa, ofrecen distintos tipos de cerveza artesanal, entre las que hay una buena variedad de IPAS. En fin, no dejen de ir a este lugar que es más que genial.

Wirklich gute Burger. Den Preis fand ich etwas zu teuer für das, was man bekommt. Aber wirklich gut und preiswert waren die Hand Cut Pommes! Sehr lecker und knusprig. Die Bedienung war sehr zuvorkommend und nett. Also alles in allem ein guter Platz, um leckere Bürger zu essen :)

Le double cheeseburger est immense mais réellement bon. Par contre pour les frites, celles aux patates douces sont très (très très) bonnes mais le seul hic c’est qu’elles écoeurent à un moment donné. (Ouf j’avais pris les normale.
Les milkshakes ont l’air très bons mais je né donnerais pas d’avis dessus n’en n’ayant pas pris.
Un Red Coke pour faire passer le tout et un bon dodo bien calé !

Bunsen, a chain burger restaurant in Dublin and obviously doing well to say they have a number of restaurants in such a small area.
The wait time for a table of 8 was just over an hour — annoying sure but we happily waited in a bar across the road and headed over once we received our text.
The concept is simple — you have 4 choices of burgers: with or without cheese, single or double. The toppings are pickles, lettuce, tomato and their sauce. You have 3 chip options: hand cut, shoe-​string or sweet pot. And you have have a shake or soda if you choose. That’s it. All these options are presented to you via their business card menu — trying to be too cool? Yeah, I think so!
Service was annoyingly slow and we had to ask for them to take both our drinks and food order. As the large table was at the back of the restaurant it felt like we were basically forgotten at times.
I opted for the double cheese burger with all the toppings, the hand cut fries and a vanilla milkshake — when in Rome right?
The food arrived and I felt was very Americanized: burger in paper wrapping, chips in an open cardboard box and milkshake in a paper cup with plastic lid and straw. Not a problem, just explaining their theme.
The chips were great. Not to thick and not to thin, just perfect once I poured that much need salt and vinegar. Now to the main event — the burger. You know what, it was pretty god damn good. The meat was cooked perfectly (medium), sure it was a rather messy burger (very saucy) and quite tricky to eat but for all it’s simplicities, it was good. For me, I’d like to have at least the option of adding bacon on there and my eyes were definitely to big for my belly — a single is more than enough but I enjoyed it.
The milkshake was a bit of a let down — nothing special, way too watery for me. Let’s just say I’d definitely opt for a McDonalds vanilla over this one but again I think it’s their message of simplicity.
Overall I have to give it a three — I think for such a simple menu you have to have the few things you have on point and there was just a few let downs. I would however return if their wasn’t a queue!
