The burger tasted great. Added bacon and a garlic mayo sauce. Filling with a Bulners Cider. Total of 19.50 euro. Great bar staff, friendly.

Great place for some pre drinks or if your not feeling to go clubbing and just want to hang out drink abit and listen to some music! Very Irish atmosphere! If your a tourist this is a must go especially on the weekends! There is this great band that play there every Saturday and Sunday! An old woman with her grandchildren and I must say they are all amazing! I went there last night just after the French bombings and there was a French guy who just arrived to Dublin from Paris a few hours before the bombings… Apparently he was half Irish and half French he got up and sang a traditional Irish song and he was amazing! Then everyone sang the French anthem… But a fun and emotional night! With loads of laughter drinks are bit pricey… Spirits with mix go up to like 10 euro and a bulmers 8. The only thing I don’t like about the place is you get pushed a lot as it’s quite small but for the rest it’s good.

Highlight of my stay in Dublin. This gem was so great I went back twice. Not only do they have a great selection of beer and ciders they offer food that is fantastically delicious. The first night I had the traditional Irish stew and my friend had the Guinness stew. Both served with brown bread and both delicious! :) The bar patrons are friendly and fun to talk with. A MUSTVISIT!

Really good food! Loved my beef stew, it was delicious. They also serve a new cider I found while here in Dublin. Very busy place, if I am ever this way again I will be back!

Couldn’t get served, I think this might be a place for locals only. I was standing at the proper place to order at the bar, as my wife waited at a table. I was served around as if he couldn’t see me. If I were a bartender I couldn’t do that to someone I didn’t like, let alone someone I didn’t know. Kind of ruined my evening.

What a wonderful bar with tremendous live music. It’s about half tourists and half local, which is pretty ideal and much better than Temple Bar. We loved it so much we went twice in a row.

Another good place to eat that is better than the standard Irish dishes. Standard beer selection.

The first thing you notice about the Celt is that it is a real pub. Off the beaten path and without a single TV, you’re assured before you even taste the food that the place is not just some tourist trap. I had the Guinness beef stew and Guinness bread, which was fantastic, and the drink selection was good as well. Music accompanied the food and drinks, making for a great overall atmosphere.

I went here because of other Unilocalers. Great music and food. I recommend the the super tender chicken, fish and chips, and the traditional beef stew all generous and delicious. Staff lives up to Irish hospitality. Great after hours space, people dancing and generally all smiles.

Enjoyed the traditional Irish music playing, the best fish and chips ever, delicious Guinness bread and small pub feel. Had a good Irish coffee and Guinness was on point. Loved this place!

Nice Pub, probably one of the best pint of Guinness that you can drink in Dublin North, Nice food and interesting options of listening to live music.

Ranks very high on the list of best pubs in Dublin. Very traditional, wood interior, wood fire, and tons of character. There was great live music and even some dancing the night I was there, plus lots of Guinness, and not many tourists, either. Great vibe, great buzz, great atmosphere, great music. Get out of Temple Bar and check this place out!

I’d give it a 5 for food, and a 1 for environment. The original place we were going to dinner stopped serving right before we got there so they recommended the Celt. We got there and couldn’t find a seat at the bar or in the restaurant, so we got stuck in the beer garden. Neither of us smoke and gives us both an instant headache. Since we were out there we had to go up to the bar to order dinner since the waiters didn’t really know we were there. The salmon chowder is great as is the Guinness bread. Definitely would have loved to enjoy the music and inside a little more.

This is by far the best bar I’ve been to in Dublin! My friend and I visited Dublin from CA for St. Patty’s day, but soon realized that every young spring breaker who was studying abroad had the same idea as us. Since we’re a little older than the average college student, we started asking locals what their favorite bar was. The answer was almost always the Celt. We went on our first night and immediately fell in love. They have live music playing and everyone in there was so nice. They have a nice outside smoking area and back room that you can sit at, it really has more space than we initially thought. The Celt was a second home to us during our time in Dublin and we can’t wait to come back and visit again!

Immer wieder gern.

I finally got to the Celt Pub — after a friend of mine was talking about it and their trad session on a Saturday and Sunday for a long time. I actually wouldn’t have expected a trad session in Dublin — to me it just doesn’t belong here. But I have to say they do very well. And they are everything than a hidden gem. We came in about half an hour before the session was due to start and didn’t find any corner to sit. But the staff was very accomodating. As we had a couple of bags with us they offered to place than behind the bar so that they weren’t in anybodys way and brought one stool for me — my friend got offered one as well but was fine standing. And as far as I can tell is was a very good trad session and the atmosphere very good — a mixture of locals and tourists but nobody minded the other they were all just there to enjoy the evening. As for their beer: You can get craft beer from the adjacent restaurant or stay with their main stream beer. We didn’t try their food. And definitely worth mentioning are the two canaries in their bird cage above the bar. One of them starts singing(complaining?) when the music starts — a noise you quickly get used to. Definitely a lovely and unusual pub that I wouldn’t mind going to again.

Packed with locals and very few tourists, our first Irish pub experience was off to a good start. Friendly service, good beer, and the 13 euro Fish N Chips was very good, but after eating this famous dish at other venues, this was a wee bit pricey for the portion size. Sit towards the front if you want to avoid the smoke from the back patio. We attempted to return later that night for the live music, which sounded great, but it was too packed so we left. Get there early to get a seat!

What a fun place! They hold Irish traditional music sessions nightly, and it gets packed. We came in early one afternoon for a pint, and it was empty. The bartender was very friendly and talked to us. There was a lot of JFK paraphernalia around the place. Also, it was here that I found out that Tyrone is more than a song by Erykah Badu, but an actual place in Ireland, thanks to a poster at the Celt. The owner even stopped by and spoke with us and talked about his visits to the U.S. We came back a couple times after for the live music, and it was happening. There were mostly tourists, but that’s how they make their money. Fun times.
