Was here for a pub quiz fundraiser that took over the entire upper floor. I had never been in, which is surprising considering its proximity to Trinity, Doyles, etc. It was nice and quiet(maybe because I was there a bit early). Drinks were quite well priced, about a fiver a pint. Although I didn’t get food, I saw a sign for a pizza and a pint, € 11. The upper rooms were very comfy and perfect for the event. Overall nice pub!

Small, cosy, quiet, but yet busy ! … not much to say about the place but they do very cheap comedy nights upstairs! the comedians put on a decent show and they do mini bottles of prosseco !!! wooooooooooooo… but its great if your looking for something quiet to do mid week they do a comedy night on a Tuesday and its only like € 3.00 in or something like that…

This place is located behind Ashfield hostel. It’s a great inexpensive place, making it a great location for young, on a budget tourists. I had a pint and an individual pizza for 10 €. The pizza was delicious and the pint was heavenly. It was the right temperature for a late afternoon. Although this place should be filled with tourists, it wasn’t! I was the only tourist there. The gentleman behind the bar is sweet and will chat with you about anything. When I told him I was there on vacation we chatted about where I’ve been and why I love Ireland so much. The place was somewhat dark. Dark wood panels with some window that barely let in any light. It was filled with old Irish relics and pictures. The place is huge. On one of the days I was there a group of very good looking Irishmen came in to watch the Gaelic football game. It was perfect! A few bought me a drink and we laughed and had a great time talking about many things. I highly recommend this little piece of Irish heaven. I loved it so much that I went back and brought along a Mayo jersey from the New England Patriots so that the owner could hang it up. Hoping to make a Patriot fan out of him. Anyway, when in Dublin Ireland visit this spot.

Very nice bar, and they have O’Hara Pale Ale on tap. Very nice, small pub. Got into very interesting conversation with a guy there, and met probably the oldest guy in Dublin there. Looked like Santa Claus in a suit. Very nice pub, just became a little bit loud when a group of students arrived.

Chaplin’s is great for a quiet pint with the old men during the day, and at night it’s even better as a student bar. Beware: you wont’ get a seat here, or even standing room, on a Friday night, but there’s good craic to be had, that’s for sure! The Guinness is as good as they come, and the high-backed chairs are cool enough too!
