Great Authentic Chinese restaurant! I went on a Monday and it was still very busy so make sure to book in advance. It can be quite pricey but they do have a set course menu to avail of with great options. I had the pork ribs which were lovely and tender with a divine sauce over them. For the main I thought I would be adventurous and burn my mouth with the spicy Tofu, not for the faint hearted but if you can handle heat it was good. The tofu was just perfect with lots of hot chillies in the sauce. For dessert, I was the exact opposite of adventurous and got the selection of ice cream… am I 6 years old? Nevertheless it was needed after the spicy main. China Sichuan is the best Chinese I’ve been to in Dublin serving up authentic Chinese cuisine in a nice upscale setting.

The Sichuan is without a doubt the king of high end Chinese food in Dublin, and has been for a very long time. Go with a group, order too much food and share everything. Service is friendly, precise and unfussy. The décor is modern and comfortable. The food is really really good — ask for their recommendations and avoid the temptation to stick to the typical fare. We went last Friday for a Christmas lunch and I’m still smiling.

Ok so I’ve been going to this resteraunt since I was young and it was still in stillorgan! We were devastated when it closed. We had celebrated birthdays and all of our family events here. The food was AMAZING. It arrived SIZZLING and the portion sizes were great. The staff were so welcoming and the atmosphere was so authentic and cosy! We still talk about it. HOMESTYLEBEEF was incredible!!! Now, it’s still good but it’s not like it used to be. The portion sizes are pretty small. Nothing comes sizzling and the atmosphere is just ok. Not sure about the location. The HOMESTYLE beef is so disappointing though. It’s like a gloopier and more vibrant coloured dish. Nice but nothing like the way it used to be. Hopeful this new place in sandyford will improve.

Mediocre Chinese food Starters — spring rolls and main — beef & ginger. The 2 course lunch deal was the cheaper option at € 15, in my opinion this is expensive for lunch time and the quantity served. I wouldn’t go back in a hurry unfortunately.

I failed in my last few attempts to go here, because they are usually very busy, and I had no reservation. So a reservation is a good idea. This time around, I had a reservation! I’ve eaten here many times and they never disappoint. The food is always excellent, from the first course to the last. The staff are nice and the whole place is nicely decorated with a great atmosphere. Not much parking near by is the only problem, but you can park in the Beacon and walk down, its not far.

Best Chinese in Dublin. It’s not really convenient for me because of its location but it’s worth the trip and if you live anywhere along the southside luas line it’s defo worth the journey out on the luas. This is definitely not your typical Chinese and one look at the prices will tell you that but I’m a big believer in you get what you pay for so no complaints here. But more of a fancy dinner out than a hungover Chinese on a Sunday(unless money isn’t an issue!). As always with Chinese I’d recommend getting a few different things to share. The peking duck is a must. I’ve never had anything on the menu that I didn’t like so knock yourself out!

Not wanting to cook dinner we opted to spin to Sandyford for a quick bite in the China Sichuan of which we had heard good reports. And they weren’t wrong. The restaurant was very quiet when we arrived at 6.30 but quickly filled up. Impressive on a Wednesday night in the middle of a nondescript business park. Most of the punters appeared to be office groups but all certainly seemed to be enjoying the excellent food as much as we. Great value on Monday-Wednesday with 2 courses at € 20 p.p. Generous helpings meant that this was more than enough, even for your ample scribe. We will be back.

Great food and service and atmosphere. I often go with my partner or with another couple or for family events with over 12 people and it is consistently very good. Go — you won’t be disappointed. Starters could be a little larger and prices over all are a little more expensive the most. Chrispy beef is lovely as is the cashew chicken. Lovely décor. Building is a little off the beaten track but worth the search.

8pm on a Tuesday evening and the place was packed. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated since we didn’t have a reservation. Was pleasantly surprised on entering as I wasn’t expecting it to be so up market. The interior is modern, spacious and elegant, with subtle Asian touches that stay away from cliché chintz. The service was quite slow, but it was busy I suppose. They could’ve done with more wait staff. My three dumplings were disappointingly bland and small, as were the spring rolls. The sauce they came with tasted like balsamic vinegar. For € 7.00 I was not impressed. In fact I began to think Sichuan was more of a meeting ground for toffs who think if take-away standard food is served artistically enough and at a high price, it MUST be quality. However, the main course quickly changed my mind. Fantastically rich and full of flavorsome spice. My friend’s aubergine in garlic and ginger was also superb. Probably the best Chinese wok dish I’ve tasted in a while. Still, I wish the starters could have been better. I also wish the side of rice was cheaper(€ 4.00 for fried rice and a few peas). Didn’t leave much of a tip as the waiter was too slow and rather disinterested. I would be back, but I’d probably avoid a starter next time. The mains were more than sufficient.

Hoo-Boy! I’m gonna smell like garlic for days after this one. I got that boiled beef dish off the chef’s recommendations and an appetizer of duck. The dessert was a toffee apple that was so dangerous, it had to be dipped in ice water before being served. Do not be discouraged by the dismal surroundings. There is hot steamy garlic ginger beef waiting for you inside.

I moved to Dublin around 2008 and I’ve always been impressed by the quality of the cuisine available around the city. One dish I’ve searched high and low for without much success has been Chinese food. After suffering through a series of average, but not amazing takeaways, I was recommended China Sichuan. It’s a little bit out of the way, being in Sandyford, but the Luas Green line is really close by, so you could get here easily enough from the city, or just drive there as I did. The restaurant is in a fairly unusual location, surrounded mostly by offices and being in the middle of a business park, but after walking in, it’s immediately welcoming and cosy and the staff are very friendly. We started with some wonton soup and a «Bön-Bön» spicy shredded chicken salad. The soup was tasty, the dumplings delicious and melt in the mouth. The shredded chicken was superb, really moist and succulent, lightly spiced with some really flavoursome chillies and nice, fresh lettuce(those who know me will know how rare a statement that is). Mains were«Chon Qing» Chicken, a really spicy dish where the chicken is cooked with heap of dried chillies, really unusual but amazing chopped garlic, ginger and cashew nuts. The chillies are more for the cooking and are served, not necessarily meant to be eaten, but they give the chicken a brilliant flavour. Best eaten by combining all the above parts into each bite. I ordered the crispy shredded beef with plum sauce, which I didn’t know, but it’s exactly what I’ve been missing from my life forever. I can’t be too much more descriptive than calling it so very tasty — the beef was very finely shredded(which I enjoy), the crunch was just right and the sauce was lovely and sweet. On the side were some boiled rice and dan dan noodles — the noodles were extremely nommy, although they weren’t mine so I only had a taste. My main disappointment from previous visits to Chinese restaurants in Dublin has not necessarily been with flavour, but with the feeling of having eaten something particularly greasy or stodgy. The MSG feeling. Not so here, where everything felt light, with superbly delicate flavours and yet still very filling. Add to that some top notch service and classy and quiet dining area and you have what is now my favourite Chinese restaurant. The best bit is that the menu(which is refreshingly sparse, at least for a Chinese restaurant in Dublin) has a host of other tempting dishes which I want to go back and try. I definitely will.

After tasting one item from their stall at a food and music festival it probably is not fair to judge the restaurant as a whole, but if you are going to put yourself on display at a food event, offer something that is going to make your restaurant look good. I ordered dan dan noodles with chicken — spicy noodles — and it was not good. there wasn’t much in the way of spice and there was nothing particularly interesting about it. I tried things from two other restaurants and both were good.

Living nearby, having read the rave reviews, and having eaten in the China Sichuan when it was located in Kilmacud, I was very excited to try the re-opened China Sichuan in Sandyford. I was impressed by the décor and the menu. The food was also outstanding. I’m licking my lips just remembering it. However, I was a little dissappointed that it was all over so quickly. The service was more efficient than warm. When I go out for a first class meal, I was to sit over it for a few hours. The food was served and dishes cleared with the efficiency of a fast food restaurant. My advice… tell them that you want to take your time and hold on to your empty plates until you’re ready for the next course. As I left the restaurant, I noticed a sign saying that they will taxi you home for free at the weekend within a certain radius. You might want to check if that offer is still running.

The China Sichuan Restaurant has recently re-opened its doors after a short period of closure. This is a much talked about and welcome relief to its many regular customers. Personally I would rate the China Sichuan as the best Chinese in Dublin if not Ireland. It’s dishes are imaginative, flavoursome and beautifully presented. Service is impeccable as one would expect from a restaurant of this high calibre. Prior to their re-launch this restaurant was definitely on the pricey side however, since reopening prices have come down making it much more affordable. I would not hesitate to recommend the China Sichuan to any lover of top flight Chinese cuisine.

This high end restaurant offers a traditional Chinese menu accompanied by an extensive wine list. The interior is a beautiful dining area with a sleek bar and private area for large groups. Located in the busy Sandyford industrial Estate, after being in Kilmacud for 23 years, there is also an excellent lunch menu on offer.
