I really appreciate the latte at Costa Coffee. This one at College green is fairly big(two floors) than the others. Service is quick and food is expensive — as always. Sometimes cookies are in offer so it is a good idea to check the snacks beside the counter to see if there is something interesting there. Internet connection is poor but at least it is free. If you have a Costa Coffee member card you can use it for longer.

I love Costa so I’ve been to all the ones in the city centre, and I’d be fair to say that this Costa is one of the larger ones along with the one on Dawson street, with two floors(Ground and lower ground). The coffee is the usual Costa style, focusing more on volume and size as opposed to strength. For veteran coffee drinkers, I wouldn’t recommend it(along with Starbucks), as the coffee tends to milky and even a small size is quite large. The prices are slightly lower than Starbucks which is just next door, but more than the various independent coffee shops that are all over Dublin these days. I’d recommend the Cortado, but they do great ice coffees, blended coffees(similar to frappuccinos), and have a good selection of desserts, baked goods and sandwiches. The downstairs section is pretty nice but really dim, so if you’re coming to read/study etc. I would recommend sitting upstairs. It’s never really that crowded and there’s usually always seats available. The main thing I like about Costa is the comfy chairs and being able to sit there for as long as you like. There is also free Wifi, and the location right opposite Trinity is very convenient.

I had probably one of the worst coffees in here the other day. With that, I ordered a lemon muffin which was stale and not very lemony at all. The café as such is nice enough, comfy couches, big with additional seating downstairs, free wifi and very friendly and efficient staff.

Just like Roy Street café in Seattle … but in Dublin !! It’s an English(UK) chain, the Temple Bar /Trinity college location is the best in Dublin.

Americano + lemon tart = happy girl. Great service, a step above Starbucks, lots of comfy seating and free wifi. Yup — fan here!

Cherry and almond muffins. Yum. That was my second breakfast today and it was delicious. It was a tough choice, because there was also Lemon Poppyseed, a favourite of mine, and also good old Blueberry. But I thought I would be a rebel and have the Cherry and Almond! While I do have a favourite city centre café, Costa Coffee, especially at this location, is quite good and comes in at a close second place. The service, for a chain, is very friendly. The coffee is delicious and when they mean large, they mean large. I think the only drawback to having a large coffee to drink in is that it gets cold relatively quickly, especially on a cold day like today. I love it! It’s also very clean, they’ve got newspapers and loads of choice when it comes to seating. Great place for short meetings.
