Funky little layout, I thought it was quite nice. Had dinner of a chicken caesar salad, it said smoky on the menu but that flavour did kind of overwhelm the dish but it was decent. Service was slow but the bar was busy. Nice atmosphere, decent but not overly special. I’ll consider returning.

I went to Dakota the other night on a bit of a bar crawl. It was a Friday night so couldn’t avail of their pretty enticing mid week bar deals and their drinks are on the pricey side. All the tables seemed to be reserved but this lovely server Monica got us a table whose guests weren’t arriving till later. Dakota redeemed! Okay so the real reason my friends dragged me there was the WINGS. Delicious! Perfect bar crawl snack option @ € 7.50 and they’ll fill you up. Make sure you ask for a tooth pick though you dirty dog! Nice place to start a night or go after work for a few drankies! I’ve made the mistake of coming here on a Christmas party and just been totally let down by the atmosphere after the bar tab ran out. Don’t go for a boogie although you’ll get some nice beats whilst you sit your cocktails it’s not a place to drop it like it’s hot.

Lovely place to go for either good or drinks! Great drink promos! Menu during the day is very reasonable for food! Recommend to anyone to go here!

This one surprised me last night actually. I’ve always thought of it as being a bit… generic. Meh music and a kida meh crowd. But actually it’s warmed to me. A few reasons for this — 1. Space. It’s got lots of it. 2. Booths. Love a good booth. It’s got loads of them that are great for cosy group buzzes 3. Drinks promos. Who doesn’t like a cheap drink 4. Sound bar staff. 5. Plugs on nearly every booth for daytime plugging in of laptop if you should happen to want to work from there 6. Wings. Very. Good. Wings. So it doesn’t have masses of personality. We can’t all got everything. Once you know what you’re signing up for, sure it’s a grand spot really.

I had lunch here today with my friends, there was 7 of us. when we got in all the booths were reserved for after 8pm tonight this is at 3pm. We sat at one of the tables with a sign we were waiting so long for service one of my mates went to the bar to order us a drink. Just as he left to go to the bar a waiter came over he said we had to be gone by 8pm we said grand we just want to order food then we would move. Little did we no it was going to be nearly 3 hours later when we would be finished, from the waiter insisting we all had water then got our food order wrong. The only saving grace is that the food is good the portions are are a good size and you won’t leave feeling hungry but it would be very easy to walk out with out paying the bill as once we got out food we never seen the waiter again we had to go to the bar to pay. Service very disappointing

I’ve been here twice — once for a drink after work and again for a rowdy night out with friends. I REALLY like this place! The crowd: it’s a mix, really. Young and old, fancy dress and casual, parties and couples. It’s a place where no matter what you’re wearing to go out, you’ll fit right in, without it being a trashy place. The music: SOGOOD. There is a dance floor, or you can just make a dance floor wherever you are! The space: the place is huge and they have a long bar setup with stools. Just behind that is a high table with stools, and behind that are cushioned chairs and booths. It makes it great for big groups! While the place was busy, I never felt claustrophobic! I didn’t try the food, but had a couple of drinks. The drinks were fine, nothing too special. They are incredibly overpriced though, which is the big downfall of this place. A whiskey ginger should not be 9 quid! Unless the ice cubes have flakes of gold sealed in them. Then yah, I’ll pay 9 quid. Ideal for a nice night out, when you’re ready to blow some cash! Guinness might be a cheaper option!

As we came back from a museum, my other half and I decided to go for drink in Dakota. 1* For the staff: They were really nice, all of them. It was a warm Sunday afternoon or maybe they had a raise… We will never know. 1* For the service: It was super fast! Like really fast, and the place was actually busy. Not too much but ok busy. That’s nice surprise. It shouldn’t be because it’s a basic customer satisfaction point. But these days service tends to take so long it has to be noticed when things go well! 1* For the drinks: I had a glass of Jameson with ginger ale and my beau had a pint of Smithicks. Noice! 1* For the place: On a Saturday night this place would be crazy packed. On a Sunday afternoon, it is back to normal with a fresh crowd — who probably didn’t party the night before — brunching away and enjoying the last bits of the weekend. 1* For the experience: I am happy we decided to go there. This was a relaxing moment and it convinced that Dakota is a hot spot for a lazy Sunday. I will definitely keep it in mind for next time! Let me know what you think and I will get back to you asap. Have a lovely day :)

Went here on a Saturday night and there was a great buzz about the place! The cocktails were amazing, and they took their time to make them so they were defiantly worth it! The music was good, a mix of everything so you can get up and have a bop! They were a bit short staffed and it took a while to get a drink but other then that it is a top notch spot!

Had diner on a Wednesday evening here. Good points: cheap food, tasty burger and pasta, friendly and attentive staff, large choice of draft beers. Can improve: tables were not very clean. Even though the place was almost empty when we got in, it took more than ten minutes before a waiter came to give us the menu, and once we ordered, the food took a long time to be served. Pleasant experience, I liked it, but nothing made it exceptional.

Great atmosphere and wide open space — a nice change from other pubs. Prices were comparable to surrounding cocktail lounges.

Went there to get a pint in the middle of the afternoon(it was quite empty) and the staff was terribly rude! My friend and I waited at the bar for ten minutes and they ignored us completely. At some stage they shouted at us from the other end: «what do you want?» Like we were there asking for money. Not coming back here ever again.

Asked for IPAs beers. Got a torpedo and a joker. Ok until then. Then they gave me a glass full of ice. Don’t knew why but ok… The beers weren’t cold enough… I guess the ice is supposed to fresh the beer? Really? I know retards with more brains than these guys

It’s a bar filled with young professionals out celebrating various things(people were p wasted at it wasn’t even 8) The staff was busy and did not have time to answer simple questions, like«do we need a reservation» and«is that table available“which was quite annoying. Good for big groups of people that already know each other in some way. It wasn’t a bad place just very meh and crowded. The staff was unprofessional and rude which is just a shame because it is such a great location.

I like to come here once in a while on weekdays because they have very comfy couches and it’s reasonably quiet! I love to just sink into one of those soft big sofa’s and chill with a bevvie and some food(the chicken wings here are to-die-for!) On the last occasion, I decided to opt for something else than the wings(how adventurous right!). Their menu is actually quite okay and has plenty of healthy options. My seafood chowder was not haute cuisine, but did the trick(still my hunger). The service was a bit scattered really. Also the table was greasy and sticky. I asked the waitress if she could clean it… and even though she gave it a wipe, the table remained very sticky. EW!

I was looking for a place for a quick, inexpensive lunch on a Tuesday while in Dublin– so the 2 Course Lunch Special for € 9.95 at Dakota Bar caught my eye. Since then, I regretted eating here, as I thought it was the meal was complete waste during my short time in Dublin, as both the food and service were below expectations. On the lunch menu — you have either a choice of Soup, Chicken Wings, Beef Tacos, Hummus, or Nachos as starters, and for the Main Course — there’s the choice of a Chicken Wrap, Beef Burger, Goat’s Cheese Tart, and Fish & Chips. The menu was completely limited and there were barely any choices. Absolutely none of the options appealed to me, but I already sat down and it would have been rude to get up. I ordered the Fish and Chips, as well as the nachos, and both were bland, oily, and unappealing. My boyfriend had the Beef Burger and chicken burgers, and there was nothing good about the food. On top of that, the service was slow and inattentive — to get a waitress was impossible. What a poor choice in restaurant — I would advise to avoid this place if you are looking for a good dining experience in Dublin. Would not go back again.

I stumbled upon this bar during one of my adventures and I’m very happy that I walked in. There are two bars in Dakota, one in the back and one in the front. The front is more crowded and the back is more secluded. BOGO(Buy one get one) on Thursdays! They have a variety of cocktails from € 9-€ 11 – vodka, rum, whiskey, and gin cocktails. They also have live music at 9pm! The bartenders and wait staff were very sweet and welcoming. The ambiance and décor was intimate and inviting. I could see this as a great spot for date night or a night out with the girls/boys!

Dakota is a popular city centre bar. I would describe it as a good old reliable– Always petty busy, open late, easy enough to get in and plenty of drink choices. They have a nice terrace area at the front that looks on to the über cool South William Street; prime spots if the weather is good. Would recommend this as a good place to go for groups, first dates, or people that want to stay out late but don’t want to go to a nightclub.

I like Dakota bar– it’s always worth a visit. They have a great range of beers on tap and also a very wide selection of different bottle beers and spirits too. The food is gastro pub with a nod to the quick and easy including burgers and wings. It’s all very reasonable and their house wine starts at € 17 per bottle. They do various beers on tap although they are all mainstream– the unusual ones are Peroni, Samuel Adams and so on. Drinks can be expensive– I paid nearly € 18 for 2 Hendricks and Tonic which I thought was pricey. They do feature various promo nights like 2 for 1 cocktails, which seems popular! It’s a big bar and while it’s crazy on weekend evenings, it’s nearly always possible up get a seat. I like it.
