If it’s good enough for Andrea Botceli it’s good enough for me ! I noticed in the wall that this was his favourite Italian Dublin restaurant, well done ! Goats cheese and roast pepper was yum, would have eat more ! Penne carbonara again fresh, Italian Gallic was fab … No room for desert but lovely wine Definetly recipe d if you love Italian book now !

Had dinner here a few weeks back for my wife’s birthday. It came highly recommended by an Italian girl in work. We ordered the sharing platter for starter which consisted of mainly cold meats. It was ok, nothing special. My wife ordered risotto which was pretty good. I ordered the lambs liver which came with basil mash & a extra side of roast potatoes. The liver was delicious but there was a problem with the roast potatoes. When they came out they were simply baby boiled potatoes & I sent them back. All the chef done then was to throw them in the deep fryer, hence not roasted potatoes. When I pointed this out to the waitress she was very apologetic & comped my main course. Don’t put them on the menu if you can’t do them properly. We didn’t bother with dessert. Service was friendly & attentive. Cheap paper napkins & cheap paper tablecloth a big let down too. Despite the free main course it was rather disappointing.

Not that you look for Italian food while touring Ireland but highly recommend. Quaint spot great attentive staff and the food is excellent. Northern Italian with some pastas. The wrapped chicken is great. Wednesday is bring your own wine

This place was incredible. I know it’s strange to eat Italian while visiting Ireland, but this place did not disappoint. I had the linguine with mussels and prawns and it was not only delicious, but plentiful. I must have had over 20 mussels on the dish! I also had the rocket salad, which was perfect. However, the best thing they serve is the panna cotta. My goodness, I have been thinking about it ever since. Everyone at the table tried it and everyone agreed it was one of the best desserts they’ve ever had. I felt like I was back in Italy. I will dream of that dessert until I can go back again.

I want to give this a 3.5. In light of the food I ate on Saturday, it feels a little harsh but judging it by the experience as a whole, it just lacked. My good wife surprised me with lunch here on Saturday and said it was her treat. Good start :) I the pan-fried lamb’s liver with beetroot, red wine caramel onion gravy & mashed potatoes. She had the fusilli with chicken, sun dried tomatoes & mustard cream sauce. What I had was flavoursome and a perfect lunchh-sized portion. I had the last bit of her pasta as well and thought the sauce was beautiful. Like I said, I can’t fault the food. Or the service, I have to say. They were attentive without being on top of us. It was just the atmosphere. Or lack thereof. We were there for dinner many moons ago when I was wining and dining my new girlfriend, as she was then and I distinctly remember there being a lack of atmosphere. Again, that was the sheer lack of bodies in the place. It has the makings of a really nice restaurant and good experience but it just lacks that je né sais quoi and it’s probably something that might only need a little tweak to bring everything together. But, just to say again, the food was really good.

Nice atmosphere, prompt service and ok food. For me good Italian food is about flavours and generosity and I am afraid this place was lacking both. My spaghetti with meatballs was ok. The meatballs were a bit dry and the sauce was tasty but not enough. Garlic prawns on the othrt hand were bland and not garlicky at all :-(( Wine by the glass was great and my dessert was also nice. All in all an ok experience and not something I will be rushing back to repeat.

Very Nice Italian located on the Northwest corner of St Stephens green just off the top of Grafton St. Easy walk from anywhere in South Central Dublin. Very nice, fresh pastas, good fresh meats and a nice selection of breads. Good wine list as well, with a good mix of European reds to match the genre of the food. Giving it 4 stars only because it was a bit pricey and the service was slow. However, the food was great and the atmosphere is very nice.

Il Posto is a lovely, relaxed and central restaurant. Sometimes I think why go to an Italian restaurant when you can cook pasta at home. Well, it’s worth the trip for Il Posto. And at the moment they are doing a two-course menu for € 16. For tips, think about starting with the polpette — little meatballs in a spicy pepper sauce with pesto and bruschetta(€ 9.90). Make sure you have a massive appetite! The pastas are all about € 16 but the other main courses are in the mid-twenties. But jeekers, I’d pay more for the beautiful seabass I had here. Amazing.
