We had a big group to get in on a Saturday and were able to call in the morning and get a reservation for a table which was brilliant. One of our group had a coupon for some special they were running and the staff were great, allowed us all to use it while splitting cheques as much as was reasonable. The food was good but not mouthwatering, and with the coupon was really decently-priced; even without it, the price would have been pretty reasonable. Staff was friendly and accommodating, even though our group was a bit large and probably not the quietest of folks, and the servers made some good suggestions as well. The place looks nice — clean, well-presented, with a good amount of lighting but not too much. Would definitely take a larger group there again as they’ve enough food options that everyone can find something they like, and were able to accommodate us on relatively short notice without throwing up a stink about it! Afraid we can’t speak to the beverages — we headed out to have drinks elsewhere as was per our plan but will definitely try them out next time and update the review accordingly!

I always walk into these chain restaurants with an impartial attitude… On the most part there consistent, Scanning through the reviews beforehand the one thing that kept popping up was the staff, very nice to deal with… And my experience was no different, well done to the staff. Its clean and spacious with booths as you enter right up to single tables for two and larger ones for groups. The open kitchen at the top is nice to see, gives an authenticity to the place… but doesn’t transfer to the pizza, nothing stood out for me with my pizza and the house salad was as bland and unimaginative as the quartered tomato in it.

Went here with a group of 4 recently, I booked a table online which asks you to let them know if you’re tight for time, as we were on our lunch and one of us was on crutches I emailed back and told them that we would need a table which was accessible to someone on crutches and would need to leave by 2pm approx(table was booked for 1pm). To this I received a reply saying that a table is no issue but to ensure prompt service I could pre book the food we were ordering, which was ideal. We arrived at 1pm and our food was served shortly after allowing us to enjoy our meal without clock watching. I’ll certainly be back.

We went with our baby and it was fine. I am a fan of milanos but I have not been there in a while. I found the portion sizes very small and I left hungry. I got a risotto and in other resturaunts it would be deemed a starter. The prices remain the same though. Prices and portion sizes are clearly aimed at the Europeans who flood that area. I couldn’t chance it again for fear id leave hungry. It’s not for the Irish ha.

I’ve been to different Milano’s over the years and I’ve never been disapointed by the quality of their food by either of them. My personal favourite is the Bosco Salad. I actually never tried it with the added Chicken but don’t miss it either. I always go to this Milano’s a bit hesitating though as it is a big and busy place and there are no curtains or carpets to lower the noise. Hence it can be a bit stressful for my ears not to mention trying to chat with friends. But the staff is friendly, just at times a bit slow — or just have too much to look after. So If possible I avoid going there at weekends /at rush hour.

Pizza looked good, would suggest the Romano pizza. Unfortunately I ordered a calzone. Had flavorful mozzarella cheese, but seemed to be lacking in amount of meat. Calzone looked huge but was barely filled on inside. Service was ok. Probably wouldn’t come back if in Dublin again.

I had: shared starters, margarita pizza with a Romano base We went on a Friday night with a group of us because they could cater to our party size and accepted Amex. Our table was ready on time when we arrived although not all of our party arrived at the same time. The staff seemed extremely stressed throughout the meal and at times I felt like we were inconveniencing the staff by dining there. I found that quite off putting. The food was grand but nothing spectacular to write home about. It’s not exactly cheap and I think you can get nicer pizzas in other Italians nearby for the same price or less.

I was really excited about trying this place since I found it in a «top of the places making gluten free pizzas in Dublin», so we got there today and tried their pizzas. I first was really happy to finally find a place with gluten free pizzas, and I’ll give it three stars just because I really appreciate that effort. The service was alright and the place is nice too, a bit noisy but it was ok. Coming to the pizza in itself, gluten free pizza are approximatively half size of the normal pizza, the toppings a pretty good, but the crust in itself… was actually really hard to cut, and a bit oily, definitively not the best I had so far in Dublin.

Awful service. Although the food was ok, the waitress made us feel ripped off and, when paying, asked if I wanted to add a tip. Enough said!

Good standard of food, nice variety, great desert menu. The starters are not so great and staff can sometimes be a bit rushed. But all in all not bad and the pizza never disappoints.

I love Milano pizzas and I was passing the Dawson st branch at 12 and thought– why not, Im hungry. I was greeted and seated immediately and the waiter came over to say hello with in a minute or so. I was surprised to see about 20 diners already eating at 12– it was busier than I expected. However there were loads of empty seats by the far wall and that where I sat. I ended up having an elderflower soda– tasty and refreshing– as well as a spicy chicken pizza that was new to their menu. The pizza was great. I was thinking of staying for dessert and coffee. However despite all the seats along my side being empty, they seated a mum and young son right beside me. As there was no one else nearby, and I was solo, I felt like we were on top of each other. It seems silly but I hate being right beside people when its quiet. Im not sure why we were all seated beside each other with plenty of empty tables but it bothered me. I got the bill and left. I like Milanos and enjoyed the service and the pizza. I will be back. I would have rated it 4 stars but Im taking a star off for the lack of privacy.

Dublin, Dublin, Dublin… I love you so, but why is your Italian food such a consistent disappointment? And WHY do my uni friends insist on eating Italian in Ireland?! Perhaps it’s the Jersey in me, but the Italian food here was far from impressive. If it hadn’t been for a killer coupon a friend of mine received, I would’ve been a bit frustrated at having paid over 15 euro for such a mediocre meal. The pasta had a strange taste to it, plus the sauce’s consistency was poor. Over all it was an unfortunate and disappointing dish. Not the worst I’ve had, just not good… My friends ordered pizza(one regular, one gluten free) and seemed to have the same feelings — wasn’t awful, but wasn’t anything worth trying again. On the upside, the restaurant space itself was nice, and they offer a gluten free menu for those who need it.(Though, with all the other gluten-free options in Dublin, I’m sure you can find a tastier place that will also accommodate your dietary needs).

The pizza was of good quality. I found the thin pizza too large, enough that I did not finish the dessert, so will go for the smaller Romano pizza next time. Found a 3 course special offer online, but decided not to use it. The atmosphere felt more lively, not as relaxed as what I was looking for.

This seems to be the spot to bring your kids for dinner on a Saturday evening. Myself and Maire B popped in here to escape the cold and fill our bellies and found ourselves surrounded by happy families. The bruschetta was ok but could have done with more tomatoes. The pomodoro pesto was nicer than it looked, loved the thin base. Overall. I’m not a huge fan of this place in terms of food or general ambiance but the mini-desserts are a fantastic idea. I had the mini lemon meringue and espresso which just hit the spot. Yum.

Milano’s or Pizza Express if in the UK are your typical over priced chain restaurant. The pizza’s are hit and miss(try extreme pizza in Rathmines for good pizza) and the coffee is the worst I have tasted ever. Ireland is becoming like a UK high street with Milano’s, Nando’s, TGI and Eddie Rockets(Irish but cousin to Johnny) and now all GBK burger joints.I hear Milano’s are opening a place in Ranelagh soon. Sorry that my first review is a rant:)

OK — so I like Pizza and they are good here. The Childrens menu is hard to beat — reat choice for kids, healthy and good price. BUT paying 3.05 euro for a fizzy drink on a kids menu is a bit rich. On the night we were there I got given the wrong pizza, and when I questioned the waiter I was immediately sorted with an new one(although saw the waiter, and manger try to calm down pizza chef after his hissy fit over my pizza!!). Both adults ordered Calamari — a titcy serving of over-cooked and over priced breaded calamari! Waiter seemed a bit stressed on the evening we were there, he mixed up and miscalculated our bill twice(but discounted a glass of wine for his error). Good points include good fresh food, atmosphere, child-friendliness, clean, good value kids menu Bad: dont touch the calamari, check your bill(twice!) and watch out for menu mix-ups and cranky chefs.

Essentially, Milano is Pizza Express — you can tell by some of the accoutrements and it is actually written on the menus. However, it prefers to forget about its humble roots and pretend to be a fancier joint than it really is, perhaps because of its posh Dawson Street location. The pizzas are fine, thin-based and tasty, although nothing to rave about. I am particularly bewildered by the Leggera, the 500 calorie pizza with a hole in the middle filled with salad. Really? You couldn’t just make it smaller? Milano is very popular, however, especially with those who want to line their stomachs before overpriced pints in Café En Seine, so be sure to book ahead.

Last night was my first visit to the Dawson Street Milanos. There were five of us, we had no reservation, and they were pushed to find us a table even though it was only 6 o clock. A very good sign, especially as the restaurant is massive. We were squeezed in down the back. The service was prompt and friendly, and within about 20 minutes of our arrival, we were sitting in front of 5 pizzas, glasses of wine in hand. I ordered one of the new leggera pizzas, which has a hole cut out of the middle, filled with a simple rocket and cherry tomato salad. This is an ingenious ideas, as I find a whole pizza too much and ordering salad as a main when your companions are scoffing cheesy pizzas is usually a recipe for food envy. The salad was great, but the pizza was dry, fairly tasteless(even after a dousing of chilli oil and parmesan) and the base quite tough. Overall, it left me wishing that I had opted for a big salad after all. The others were similarly non-plussed by their meals. In general, the pizzas were too dry, with not enough cheese. All that said, we really enjoyed our visit here, which goes to show that a good meal out can often be more about the company and atmosphere than the food itself. Oh, and one other reason — we had 2 for 1 main course vouchers, which you can print off the website until the end of November.

This Milano’s is lovely! Nice and big, very Milano’s-esque! The wait staff are super nice too… one of the guys is gorgeous and another is so so nice and friendly that we ended up teaching him Spanish for around 20 minutes! The pizzas are great, and the salads are genuinely gorgeous! The pollo one is my favourite, really yummy sauce! Go for a nice cheapish dinner and good ambiance. Also great for groups, when they’re really attentive and don’t hurry you out!
