Let me start by saying that the clothes are cute. That’s why they have any stars at all. However, I wasn’t able to try anything on because the curtains on the fitting rooms don’t close. The fabric is stretched & bunched such that even when you pull it all the way across there’s still a gaping hole so everyone in the store would be able to see you getting dressed. That in itself could have been an honest mistake. But the service I received at KLING was abysmal. No greeting when I came in, physically turned away from me when I walked toward her to ask if I could use the fitting room, and when I told her about the fitting room curtain issue she responded«I know.» with a sneer that made me walk right out of there and never look back.

I love Kling! The whole shop is just dripping in adorable. Kling falls perfectly in line with most Spanish fashion, which tends to be heavy on two kinds of looks: sexy and twee. With colors and styles though, it reminds me more of the shops on Calle Fuencarral in Madrid than typical lines found in Zara. There is also a vintage inspiration in some of the pieces(especially accessories) so that adds a different flavor. Myself, I am trying to get away from the ‘cute’ look by not purchasing any styles that could be worn comfortably by a 12-year-old. With all the peter-pan collars, lots of Kling fashion does fall into that category. Even though I wouldn’t wear every piece in the store, I am usually considering about half of it. Besides, the store is so visually appealing that I enjoy shopping here more than most places. They have an excellent dress selection, unique and classy shoes, and the sales are wonderful. I tend to watch for the signs because it’s hard to walk out without buying something and sometimes full-price is out of my range. There are deals to be found though… Just yesterday I bought a black and white chevron dress, perfect for a night on the town, for only € 30 after a 50% discount.

As I’ve been notified(and perhaps due to a very American education) Kling is actually a SPANISH store… which would explain all those shops it’s opened in Spain. Still, it’s such a sweet place and if I was just a half foot shorter(or so) I’d be head to toe(all 5’4″ of me) in their lovely gear.
