I went here last Friday for their € 9.99 lunch deal. I cannot fault the value! You get a main course from a massive menu of choice plus a soft drink. However, the menu was a little bit all over the place with a lot of really ecclectic choices which made it hard to know what to order. There was pasta, pizza, burgers, burritos, soup, salad, if you are looking for a wide variety look no further. For me, it was just lacking in identity and was a little confusing. The service and value for money were great!

My second time here and for sure my last. The salmon was so overcooked it looked almost grey after it was unwrapped from its tinfoil parcel. The only saving grace was the mashed potatoe and the veg. Service was pretty good but the restaurant was pretty quiet so might be a different story on a busy night. Lots of potential but sadly they don’t appear to be bothered.

Amazing place. Real dublin bustling atmosphere. Food portions are amazing and food is always cooked perfectly. The desserts are a diabetics worst nightmare the death by choclate is a good way to go tho. The staff are quick and suggestive and know the menu the cocktails are ice cold and freshly prepared the cream in their desserts is like fluffy clouds and the price is perfect and the loyalty card system with discounts is fantastic idea I called once and they wer booked up and gave them my number and they said oh u are a loyal. membee come on in we will prepare a special table id go there quite often well laid out its more of a couples restaurant and group place rather than a romantic first date place. Its well worth it for a proper perfectly cooked steak and ice cold beer to wash it down staff are always kind and dont interrupt ur meals and wait until the last item has left ur plate before taking it away. So go therw if u want to be fed and like a good atmosphere wit top quality food good drinks amazing desserts and a good atmoshpere

Have been here both at lunch time and at night. Never any complaints. A great place for a birthday party or hen night as they’re well able to cater for large groups. They also have a really good cocktail menu. Great lunchtime deal of a main course and a glass of wine(or mineral) for € 9.95! They also offer a soup starter with ciabatta at lunchtime for € 1.50. Good variety on the menu to cater for all tastes. Staff are friendly too. Would thoroughly recommend you go here :-)

This restaurant is one of the best in Dublin. No question. You want chicken wings. You come here. The food and service is always excellent. The staff are very friendly. Front of house management came over and greeted us with a worm smile. Everything was perfect. We will be back very soon. Well done. Keep up the great work.

I enjoyed a splendid fillet steak meal and a glass of Italian wine in an unusual carafe. The wine choices are good and there are also cocktails. I saw some eating fajitas and skewers of lamb and beef which also looked good. A great place for couples as you can actually hear yourself speak and the music was pleasant and at the right volume. 60 euros for two reasonably priced for fillet steak I thought. Plus staff were friendly and efficient.

I’m not entirely sure why but I’ve always had a real soft spot for Luigi Malones. Even as I write this I’m having a hard time giving them 2 stars instead of 3. We arrived in on a midweek evening & were promptly shown to our seats… Lovely. We ordered starters which came & were great. The chicken wings were actually delicious, in my opinion would give some of the best in Dublin a run for their money with that lovely vinegary kind of sauce. The Nachos not so great. Just a few dry crisps with a homemade«salsa» which was actually just diced up vegetables thrown on top. Guacamole was good but the melted cheese had gone cold & hard before we had even tucked in. I ordered a pizza, which I must say was very good and absolutely HUGE. I would consider myself to have a reasonable apetite but even with the help of another, couldn’t finish the pizza. I was torn between the pizza & jambalaya since I had been here previously & had i in the past and found it to be absolutely delicious, but as my fiancé settled on the Jambalaya I went for the pizza. Right decision on my part. The jambalaya was so so bland. It was not unlike someone had just opened a tin of tomatoes on top of past, chicken & prawns. The whole dish had a earthy flavour to it & I don’t mean«earthy» in the wholesome sense of the term, I mean it tased like earth, dirt, muck. Like someone hadn’t cleaned the prawns properly perhaps.(I neglected to mention this to my partner as he hadn’t noticed & I can often be fussy with Fish dishes). After the mains the plates were promptly taken away but we had to sit for about 10 minutes & then ask someone if they would take our dessert order, in which time I actually lost my apetite for dessert so this delay is potentially losing them business. My fiancé got the Toblerone Cheese Cake, which is delicious! I did find it to be reasonably priced, as all of the above including a dessert wine for me was less than € 50, but with that said, this was during an early bird offer & had if it had cost much more I would be saying that it was expensive for the quality of what we got. Overall my heart says 3 stars, but in my head I know it must be a 2. Pull your socks up Luigi Malones! I know you can do better!

Had a farewell dinner of two colleagues there. I ate mussels and BBQ chicken, both were great. But if you don’t want to explode, forego the starter — the meals are big. Service is fast and very polite and great. Good place to eat.

I was looking for a cheap meal around 3pm on a Saturday. I’d been traveling all night and walking all day, so I really didn’t have the mental energy to scour for a better dining locale. I also came here on the recommendation of my local tour guide. He wasn’t wrong that it’s a cheap meal with almost decent tasting food, but I really would have preferred to have spent extra euros on a more traditional experience. The thing that bugged me most was how spotty the service was. The servers were scrambling around like crazy, but there were only ~60 customers in a two-floor restaurants large enough to seat closer to 200. When I tried to customize a small thing in my order, the waitress told me no way cause the kitchen is too backed up and the chef too busy. I mean, yes, I know substitutions are a pain so I didn’t press, but the service was just very curt and not warmly accommodating like I feel my experiences are in Italian-esque joints at home. Maybe it was the jetlag/exhaustion talking, but I just didn’t understand why the servers had to be so crazed. Even the seating hostess was jumping in to take and deliver orders as well, leaving new patrons to stand awkwardly for a while at the front before they could grab someone’s attention. And it was only lunch time! Something was just off here overall, and your money could be spent elsewhere for a better experience if you’re in town as a visitor.

So… Where too begin. The SERVICE is awful. The waiters are awful. Firstly a full round of our drinks was spilled by a waiter. I witnessed a waitress eating chips of a plate that she subsequently served to a customer. Too top it all off the waiters have no pleasant side… FAIL The orders came out and the food was great but great food doesn’t justify the terrible service. Definitely will NOT be recommending this place!

A mid-sized group of us had a 7pm dinner reservation here. The tone wasn’t set very well when the host, of he who acted a bit like a diva, informed us that we had to be out by 8:30. The food better be prompt then, ye? That’s so bloody tacky and inexcusable in my opinion. Especially since they fairly promptly asked us to leave at that time. Classy. We were sat in the back, it was comfortable enough. The service was meh as well. Our waitress was a bit snooty and seemed very irritated when taking our order. More to the point, I was finishing my chicken — which was quite a large meal and she asked if she could take the plate away or am I still working on it. I said, I think I’ll give it another go. That seemed to very much bother her, because now she couldn’t clear it. Of which, she returned in five minutes and asked again. She really wanted my plate! She seemed equally annoyed that we had asked for red sauce for our chips. Now they bring them out in these little cups, so perhaps she didn’t want to do that, though I imagine it might not even be her job. Either way, she seemed in a huff for whatever the reason. The food itself was okeh enough. I didn’t find it particularly spicy. I didn’t find the chicken, for instance, particularly bad, it just wasn’t particularly good. I wouldn’t go back for it. The best thing were the wings. The wings were absolutely lovely. However, they were bleeding expensive as well. While I would like to come back and just have wings, perhaps for a lunch or a light dinner or what-have-you, I certainly would not be paying 7.75 for the so-called huge portion, which isn’t «that’ huge, you couldn’t share it certainly. It is worth noting that there’s an early-bird special of 18.95÷23.95 if you order before 7pm, which involves 2 or 3 courses respectively. Of course, this menu also has supplemental charges, which is additionally tacky and overtly greedy. It certainly wasn’t the worst dining experience in Dublin(which is sad commentary) but it wasn’t worth the 300 Euro tab that 6 of us generated, considering the terrible service and 90 minute eating window.

Just back from lunch at Luigi Malone’s, it’s been a while since I was here so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The lunch menu is pretty good, with a generous selection of food for € 9.95 incl a soft drink or bottle of water.(Extra € 2 for beer/wine). So value wise it’s not bad at all. We had a group of 8 and there were no complaints, I had the club sandwich with fries, which was very good. Top marks for the coleslaw on the side which was yum. My only complaint, and I hasten to add that this applies to most eateries in Dublin, get bigger bread slices. They are quiet small at Luigi’s and struggle to hold the filling. If sliced bread is to be used, please get a large catering pan, or use a bloomer style bread cut in half instead of quarters! The small 4inch by 4inch squares just aren’t big enough folks! Not sure if you wanted a long leisurely lunch this would be the place to go. The girl running around with the headset on was quite off-putting. Imagine a fast food joint in the US and you’ll know what I mean. Just felt like you may be rushed out if someone arrived…

I really like this place. I have been there multiple times over the last couple of years and Luigi’s never disappointed. My favorites are the chicken wings(a huge plate of the most delicious chicken wings you can imagine & you will never manage to eat them on your own, so order them to share), the caesar salad(soft chicken meat, crispy bread bits and a yummy dressing), the crispy pizzas which are huge too and good to share, and the steaks. I am a sucker for steaks and whenever there is one on the menu it is super hard for me to say no. Thank god I did not say no this time around because the steak did not disappoint. Cooked nice and tender, bloody on the inside, crispy on the outside, served on hot plates with tender cooked veggies. I will be back soon and order again chicken wings as a starter(shared between two since I learned the hard way one girl can not eat 24 chicken wings and a full steak afterwards… it is sad but true but there can be too much meat) and a yummy steak, and I cant wait.

This is in my views the fastfood of the restaurant. Very mechanical, no real friendly service. The large room makes it very noisy too. As for the food, well, my friend got food poisoning. Despite numerous calls and promises from the staff that the manager will call us back. I’m still waiting for that call.(it is actually a busy place, this may be why they haven’t had time to call me back since February. ok, i’m being sarcastic). Well… needless to say that they’ve lost 2 clients here.

Love this place. Had a fantastic 10oz fillet that was nothing short of heaven. Everything on the plate was cooked to delicious perfection. The managers on the day(Dave & Seeven) along with our waitress(Dee) were openly willing to bend over backwards for us. Try a maskuchen of Fischer’s Beer from Munich which is golden nectar. The loyalty card scheme works well and theres also a great family special advertised too. All in all a well put together, professionally run temple bar restaurant

Approached the headset-wearing head waitress, asked for a table for five, she accommodated, punched her computer screen 13 or so times then turned and said, «Ok, but I need your table back in two hours. Ok?» We said«Ok, thats fine. You’re ok, thanks, we won’t take it». She seemed a little surprised but as we turned to leave but she did not try to convince us to stay. Two hours is plenty of time to finish a meal but with some good wine and conversation, you don’t want to feel like you are simply being squeezed onto the conveyor belt. Later(approx 2 hours) as we left La Caverna, we took a peek in the window of Luigi Malones who had several empty tables. First impressions last.

I think at this stage in my life I’ve tried every single thing on the Luigi’s menu, and it’s a big menu. I think that’s one of Luigi Malone’s biggest downfalls, that there’s a lot on the menu that’s pretty good, not great. It does Italian, Mexican and American cuisine but I feel if the kitchen concentrated on a couplee of signiature dishes, they’d be on to something special. Luigi’s is always quite crowded and my family have a habit of always coming here and they have some nice dishes, but few are great. Their deserts are the highlight, particularly the Toblerone cheesecake, which is flippin’ deadly altogether. I do agree with Brian however, that the tables are too close together and being a bit claustrophobic, I wasn’t too fond of feeling like I was in a pressure cooker.

Im a big luigi’s fan. It’s great for a date, a family occasion or a big birthday celebration with lots of buddies. They do a great early bird offer and their evening menu is reasonably priced. The menu is hugely varied — the kind of restaurant that everyone can find something they like. Steaks, fajhitas, pizzas, chicken, pasta etc. My personal faves for eating with friends/family are the chicken wings and nachos to start, followed by either the santa fe chicken pizza, garlic chicken or Caesar salad for mains and definitely either the famous toblerone cheesecake or shortbread tower for dessert. Their house white is delicious too — and comes served in a funky white bottle

Gute Portionen, lecker Hauswein. Minuspunkt?

Luigi Malones is a restaurant situated in Temple Bar. I went there for lunch with a friend. The lunch menu is € 10.90 for a generous portion of a main course and a soft drink, and € 12.90 for a generous portion of a main course and wine or beer. I went for the soft drink option whilst my friend went for the Wine option. There was a full menu of options for lunch including, various different burgers served with fries, pizzas, salads, pasta dishes, steak or chicken baguettes with fries. The portions are very generous and very tasty. I chose the BBQ burger served with fries and coleslaw. The burger was a very generous size and was delicious. My friend had the chicken penne which she found to be delicious also. Because we were there early we got served quick, so we could not resist having a desert also. We both opted for the Toblerone and butterscotch cheesecake which is a famous desert of Luigi Malones. At € 3.90 the lunch portion was almost half of what it normally cost, and the size was very generous. We both thought it was very delicious and the presentation of it was delicious. A definate place to come if you want a reasonably priced but delicious meal.
