Mannings Bakery

So there I stood gazing at the selection of cakes by the counter when out of left field I was barked at to get in the queue. Not a please. Not a smile. Not a hint of gratitude for custom.
The cakes might be out of this world but I don’t want to feel like I’m in line at a concentration camp when I’m ordering a few cakes.
I’m fully aware that the standard of decent Irish service dropped in this country with there arrival of the Celtic tiger but now the tiger is dead a little respect a manners would go a long way. Its a shame really as the fare and the price looked decent.

I love sweets and cakes and pastries, which is probably why I’ve fallen hard for Mannings. Every time I go even remotely near Blanchardstown shopping centre, I absolutely have to stop in here for a sweet treat. The bakery has a large selection of cakes, cupcakes, cookies and tarts. All of these confections are home made in store every day, including the traditional custard cream slice to the apple tarts! I can never make up my mind on what I want then and there so I always end up taking home 5 or 6 treats! My favorites are the eau clairs, raspberry and coconut cake, and just about anything with fruit!

This bakery has a great selection of cakes and little treats.
My favorites are the moist chocolate cake, the tasty eclairs (just the right amount of chocolate, whipped cream and dough), the apple strudel and the delicious coffee slice.
Whenever I stop there I have to grab coffee slice as take away for my BF. He’d never forgive me going there and not bringing one back for him.
Mannings also does delicious cakes for any occasion. More than once I went there to pick up a Birthday cake (my fav is the Black Forest, but I would not say no to any off the other cakes either ;)) and every time they personalized the cake with a writing of your choice.
So, if you are looking for a little pick me up after a day full of shopping or for a cake for a special occasion — Mannings is the place to go.
