Stay away if you want food. Me and four friends came here for dinner and drinks and all had such bad stomach aches we were held to one beer each(not our usual order). That said its a huge place with lots of character and good beer so highly recommend as far a drinks option. Beware prices are high but it is located in heart of city.

This place is gigantic!!! There is a cafeteria style kitchen back a ways to the left. Grab a tray and order. I got the Irish beef and Guinness stew. Along with cabbage carrots and mashed potatoes and gravy. It came with three sides. While the portions were gigantic the taste was minimal. The beef couldn’t have been dryer and the stew tasted flour like. The sides were decent and the gravy was good. My sister hated her entire meal. It was similar but just a general stew not Irish beef and Guinness. Hers looked a bit lighter while mine was fairly dark. We left there with our plates basically full and our bellies empty. As for a bar environment I would imagine this place to be a riot. It is huge with multiple levels and very cute tiny dark corner hang out if you want to be alone with a small group. They have lots of small bar with bartenders sporadically place throughout the place. Upstairs was live music with Irish dancing and the place was packed. My suggestion, eat somewhere else and come here to party the night away. And that’s all I have to say about that. Jackée

Food review: This place was pretty disappointing. It is extremely hard to figure out. People are getting brought food with numbers at their tables but at the same time you see people with cafeteria style trays walking around trying to find a seat. I go up to a waiter upon entering and ask him for a table and he says I just need to find my own seat. So… I thought once we found seats we would be served. After a few min I realize it’s a self serve place entirely. There should be some type of signage somewhere to indicate such. We overlooked the confusing process and we’re excited for the food. My boyfriend got the Irish stew with lamb and I got the seafood chowder. He said the stew was decent but my chowder was not great. It was too creamy and the thickness reminded me of eating pure cream. Way too think and not enough brothy flavor. We won’t be back(for food atleast). Beer review: My boyfriend thinks this place is a pretty good beer spot and I would have to agree. Huge selection, decent prices, and lots of seating. If you’re coming here with a big group it would be pretty straightforward to figure out and get everyone drinks. Tip: Stake out a table, they’re tough to find in the crowds.

Portions and variety both immense. The restaurant itself is very large! You order from the counter and your meal is either given to you immediately or brought to your table. My sister loved her seafood chowder and my fish and chips were fantastic! Recommended for a casual low key meal.

I traveled throughout Ireland and this place was the most memorable. The food was authentic and fresh. The place was so busy that the food was constantly coming out of the kitchen. A local bartender suggested we eat here and thank God we did. Excellent Authentic Irish food!

Interesting place where you need to go up and order your food. Kind of like a buffet style except no one will tell you what’s going on or how to order food. Service wasn’t great, several people were lost — including us, even after asking a worker how to get food. Food was pretty good. Beer was good. Service is eh.

O’Neill’s is one of my favourite pubs in Dublin! It’s a massive pub that with a lot of different sections spread out over two floors and the place is build more or less like a mace. I like to walk around and re-discover all the areas everytime I visit. One can argue that O’Neill’s is a bit touristy but that should be expected considering the location in the inner city, it’s sheer size, foodservice and their extensive selection of beers, ales, ciders and such on tap. I especially like the tables with their own taps which you can activate by leaving your credit card in the bar. This type of self service will never ever be allowed back home. O’Neill’s also have a carvery where you can buy a vast array of typical pubfood and classics such as Beef and Guinness stew, Irish stew, Shepherds pie and lots of other delicious dishes. But the best part is their selection of craft beer. My absolute favourite is the Remix India Pale Lager from The Trouble Brewing Company which I so far have just found at O’Neill’s. You should give it a try because it’s bloody good :-D Skål!

O’Neills has a carvery with a lot of options. You line up and food is served hot buffet/cafeteria style. Pick an entrée and you can have all sides possible, which leads to a plate overflowing with food. While large portions are to be had, the food itself is okay. It’s not the most flavorful and also not the freshest. However, you’ll definitely not leave here hungry. Do skip the roast and yorkshire pudding, as both were quite dry and hard as a tack.

By far one of the most confusing restaurants I have ever eaten at ever. That said, it was still great, I really enjoyed my food. So you basically get in line like its a cafeteria and pay for your meal and order your booze at the end of the line. It’s bizarre. Then the fun begins, try to find yourself a seat, on a friday night let’s just say it’s a lot of fun. That’s sarcasm. However; good food, great vibe and clearly a great irish pub. Oh and there is literally at least 3 different entrances, maybe more… all around weird.

This is a very nice pub. Very friendly staff, the place has a friendly feel to it. The perfect place to enjoy a Guinness which was poured perfectly by the bartender. We were sitting at the end of the bar, taking in the atmosphere of the place. We will come back again next time we visit Dublin.

A great Irish Pub. many could be convinced that it’s for tourists given it’s close proximity to all that is Temple Bar, but that’s not the case. The bartenders and food servers were so friendly. Their Guinness pour was up to code and hit the spot and the food was outstanding and takes no time to eat as everything is ready to order and receive immediately(except fish & chips which takes 10 – 15 minutes) The best part is conversations with the patrons, ranging from Americans like my daughter and I to locals from down the street and everything in between… In my opinion, it’s a must stop when visiting Dublin. Slainte!

O’Neills is an old standby that always works for you. It was one of the first pubs I stepped foot in when I moved here eight years ago and since then nothing has changed(and that’s a good thing!). Bars: The pub still has one of the nicest pints of plain in the city and the multiple bars make it easier than most to get through and get your drink quickly rather than the usual fight to the front of the bar that happens in most city centre pubs. Outdooor/Smoking Area: O’Neills has a nice rooftop area which is half covered and half open to allow for enjoyment of the rare sunny day we actually get in Dublin Food: Standard carvery fare with a couple of nods to the North American tourists(e.g. Corned Beed). Generally decent if you’re looking for a nice heavy meal to start your session. The only con I would say here is the number of tourists who stumble in and crowd the place out so I would probably steer clear of here on Friday and Saturday nights.

I stopped in on my way out of the city. It was packed with rugby fans and groups ready to party. I ordered the Irish Stew, and it was scrumptious! I definitely recommend coming here for a meal. Also, try the mint sauce; that is something I will try to make at home because it’s amazing with meat dishes. I don’t recommend coming here alone unless you’re ordering at the bar. It gets so crowded that there is no table space. I ended up sitting at a random counter on the third floor. Also, know that there is a special line for food and you should know what you’re ordering before you reach the first employee. Honestly, you will get one of the best deals on Irish Stew here. It was 11 – 12 euros, while most other places will charge up to 15 for a bowl. Plus, it comes with ample sides. Go raibh maith agat, O’Neills!

Not a lot of middle of the road dining options in Dublin. Any better than O’Neils and you would be going high end & pricey. This place is both economical & delicious! And the many dining rooms &2 bars & live music make it a cool place to relax your bones, eat well & have a enjoy a pint. It’s not as touristy as you’ve heard as there are plenty of Dubliners holding court at the bar. How it works: It’s a labyrinth of nooks, crannies, levels, & alcoves so securing a seat is best 1st. Then, decide if you want the sandwich(carving) station to have them build you a serious sandwich OR the HOT food buffet style station where you choose from a huge menu of choices like roasted chicken, lamb, salad, gravies, sauces, veggies, potatoes, rice etc. etc. order from the server, they make up your plate, order your beverage & pay. Easy peasy! A hot delicious huge plate will run you like $ 12 – 19 euro. You will leave full, happy & ready to get on. Highly suggested!

Although centrally located with lots of floors, plenty of choices of beer and live music, this place just felt very touristy. It lacks a little character and the food is not tip top. Mostly carvery based, you queue to have a lot of food slopped on your plate! If you are hungry and not a total foody definitely recommend this place as the portions are huge and it doesn’t taste bad, it just doesn’t taste great! Their stews were a little bland and the vegetables over cooked. Twas all just TOO stodgy.

Fun, tourist-oriented pub with very traditional Irish food. I had the beef stew with potatoes and carrots and cabbage. I couldn’t finish it all(probably because I also had a pint of Guinness). Food was a bit salty and heavy for my tastes. Very decorated(almost to the point of gaudy) and loud.

My boyfriend and I wanted some traditional Irish food on our last day in Dublin, and O’Neil’s was the perfect place to go. It is a traditional Irish pub with several floors — interior included wooden panel walls with carvings and suitable Irish decorations. It is very large inside, with many rooms and plenty of tables to choose from. The menu is extensive, a large selection of traditional Irish dishes. We decided to eat at the carvery, as it was quick and recommended a staff. It is cafeteria style dining with meat and poultry options carved on the spot. I fell in love with this place when they gave me more food than I could eat, which rarely happens(although this was actually my second lunch of the day). We opted for the Irish Lamb Stew, Beef and Guinness Stew, and Shepard’s pie. The portions were huge and I was in heaven when they kept piling on vegetables to the plate. There must have been 6 – 7 different vegetables provided, and for around 12 euros each — it was such a great value. The food was amazing — so hearty and tasty. I absolutely loved it and definitely ate like a Queen that day.

Tolles Pub-Ambiente. Dutzende Biere«on tap».

Fast jeder Pub bietet Mittags was zum Beißen an. Die aktuelle aktuellen Speisekarte findet man hier( ) Auszug: Appetisers Geraeucherter irischer Salmon Hausemachte vegetarische Gemuesesuppe Seafood Chowder with Brown Bread Greek Salad — Beef Tomatoes, Cucumber, Red Onion and Feta Cheese Homemade Vegetarian Quiche Main Haenchen mit italienischem Ginger und Lemongras auf Gemuese mit Tomatendressing Steak gebraten mit Pilzen und einer Pfeffersauce Roast Cajun and Chilli Beef Roast Breast of Turkey and Cranberry Sauce Roast Loin of Pork and Apple Sauce Roast Leg of Lamb and Mint Sauce Honey Baked Limerick Ham and Parsley Sauce Traditional Irish Stew with Lamb, Carrots & Potatoes Golden Fried Supreme of Chicken Stuffed with Cheddar Cheese, Onions and Chives Italian Ginger and Lemon Grass Chicken served on a Bed of Vegetables and a Tomato Dressing Pan Fried Round Steak Smothered in a Mushroom and Bell Pepper Sauce Stuffed Fillets of Plaice Grilled and Topped with a Fennel and Prawn Sauce Dazu gibts wahlweise Kartoffelbrei, Bratkartoffeln, Kartoffeln, Kohl, Möhren, Erbsen und diverse andere Gemuese Oder auch alles zusammen.
