Such a lovely little pub to go if you are looking to unwind after a long day shopping, or after work drinks. The staff are so prompt and attentive despite it being extremely busy when we went. We sat outside because there were no seats left but the bar man made sure we were looked after and turned the heaters on for us. Couldn’t fault this bar!

C’est un joli pub avec des sièges confortables, de nombreuses bières à la pression, et un bon choix de whiskeys. Ils proposent aussi des planches de fromages irlandais.

Peter’s keeps everything super basic, but there’s something about it that I just love. There’s no fluff around the edges, but it’s cosy and really looks like a true Irish pub. The bar staff I’ve spoken to are pure gents and very knowledgable. You might have a hard time getting a seat at the weekends, but the crowd is usually very friendly and you might be able to squeeze on to the edge of someone else’s table. They have a decent selection of beers and a great selection of spirits. It might not be something crazy worth telling your friends about, but it’s always a nice place to go for a pint.

Not your typical pub in that it’s refreshingly well-lit and inviting, and isn’t too loud. The guys behind the counter are gentlemen and they have a nice range of draught and bottled beers, from Heineken and Peroni to domestics from craft brewers like Carrig and Dungarvan. I’d say it’s a great place to either start or end the evening. I sat at the bar but the bench seating below the windows(good for groups of 4 – 6) also looked pretty comfy.

We were after dinner mid week and going for a last drink near Drury St. My friend said what about Peters pub. I had never been and my mission is to keep visiting new places so I replied why not. I have walked past this place a million times and I always assumed it was tiny. It’s small but bigger than I expected. It has the feel of a local which I love. It was quiet as it was late on a Wednesday evening. I had a pint of Galway Hooker, which I really like and my friend had a G and T. I noticed there is no piped music, just the sound of people chatting. The Barman seemed to know a good few customers so I would say they get a lot of regulars. It’s now on my list of pubs for a pint.

Great little pub in the middle of Dublin, nice fellas working the bar. The sandwiches were nothing spectacular but the soup was AMAZING. Definitely an excellent place to go to get away from some of the more touristy restaurants, and a very nice atmosphere for enjoying a quick bite for lunch, especially if you’re trying to get out of the rain during an afternoon downpour.

Excellent little place to rehydrate after shopping! Unlike other reviewers, I didn’t attempt the after-work rush… I stopped at Peter’s mid-afternoon on a weekday, and it was lovely and quiet. Despite its location in the midst of city centre, it really has the feel of a traditional Irish pub. The barman was as friendly as he was knowledgeable, giving us plenty of information about the local microbrews on tap. I’m not ashamed to say it –I already see myself coming back for another Galway Hooker! I didn’t have any food, but they do have a menu with some sandwiches and usual suspects if you’re feeling peckish.

A nice little affordable pub that does a good pint of the black stuff! Compared to the other pubs in Dublin where you can be paying anything up € 9 for a pint, € 5.20 is very reasonable, and is pulled properly, just let it stand before drinking! The barman is very nice and will bring the drinks over to you.

Celebrated the 12 pubs of Christmas over the weekend and started the night off here. I’ve been here before and know the pints are pricey for town, but they are good pints at that. I would rather drink a good pint for a bit more than spend less and have something gross. The pub is very festive for Christmas at the moment, so the atmosphere is a 5 out of 5 stars. The pub also has a good flow of people usually and with a bit of patience, you can still almost always have seats and quick service. I like meeting up with friends here for a pub crawl night, but could easily hangout for a bit and enjoy some nosh.

Sort of feels like your Aunty Doreen’s gaff… You know that Aunty who combs the carpets before you come over ? She makes great french apple flan and wouldn’t hear of a sausage roll entering her kitchen… but she makes you feel at home… and she has booze.

Went there in this typical Irish pub to get a typical Irish lunch(oh well) Place was as full as it’s expected of a pub at midday(that is, not at all). The bar menu is not to shabby and very much on par with similar establishments. The ambience is quite nice, it’s not a dark appearance on the inside like most pubs(or even places) but rather a very illuminated place The food was quite nice, having a «soup and sandwich» and the service was mildly enthusiastic(yes, enthusiastically, but not too much). Although the barman seems to have to tender several people at once, service was ok

Went there on Friday(3÷5÷2013) night to meet two friends over from the USA and two people I had never met before. I dont drink because of medication I am on, and my wife just doesnt drink much. Staff continually hasseled us, interrupting us and cleaning our tables in a really rude invasive way. «Would you mind moving?» «Okay, whose drinks are these?» «Would you mind standing there?» «Okay whose finished?» The person I was meeting was a distinguished poet from the states, and his partner. It was not cool, and a case of judging the book by its cover. Perhaps they wanted people who were buying pints.

Yesterday I had a cold, it was miserable and drizzly outside and I needed a hug. Peter’s pub sorted me right out with a hot port and some decent company. Love this place. Oh, and they pour a very decent pint o’ plain.

Simply lovely. Clean and quiet. A place where one can have a pint and a conversation without shouting. Best of all, they serve Beamish.

An institution — in the best sense of the word. The platform this pub is built on is the barmen. We’re talking real Barmen. Barmen from a time that the Tiger forgot. People who remember you, even if you haven’t been in for a year. People for who the smallest nod from your seat triggers a round re-order, delivered to the table. People who are both professional, and friendly. The atmosphere is buzzy — tends to get jammed in that«all in it together» way. Not a posey place, much more groups and couples in animated conversation over wine and pints. Good beer selection, including Hooker and the fantastic Peroni on Draft. Cracking pub. Now with a Pablo Piccante’s right next door. Thats the makings of a great night out right there! :-)

I pass this place at least three times a week and in the six years have never walked in. Until last night. Great atmosphere, comfy seating and the barman pulls a good pint. I will definitely be back.

One of the truly great pubs in the city. They put particular care and attention into everything they do, right down to the fact that every drink(read; pint) is served in the correct, branded glass, if I order a Galway Hooker, it is served in a glass bearing that name… a very nice touch. Outwardly it is just a normal if small pub that gets very cramped on a busy night but it always has a great atmosphere and the staff are good — like damn good, everyone gets served, no time wasting, no messing about. Nice heated outdoor tables and the toilets are always sparkling.

If you manage to get a seat in here you have already won. Over the three years since I returned to Dublin I have stuck my head in the door only to retreat every time due to it being packed. That was until last night. Like a military operation my partner had to leave work ahead of me to secure a seat. Then the text I had waited for for three years: «I’ve got a seat. Go! Go! Go!» Great Guinness. Old fashioned bartenders. Mixed crowd. Spotlessly clean loos and nice and bright bar. Worth the three year wait.

Ein typisches Irish Pub! Beim Anblick des Interieur könnte man meinen die Zeit wäre stehengeblieben. Es ist urgemütlich und das Guinness schmeckt dort richtig lecker.
