This is a pub where I bring all my visitors to for a meal and a pint. I take away one star because I find that they do have touristy prices, aka a little pricey for a pub. It is a fun place, full of decorations and items from abroad and from Ireland. It has the old wooden interior of your typical Irish pub, and they serve delicious food. The newest discovery we found here is the Irish delicacy, curry chips! I’ve tried a lot of the items on the menu, including their fish, the lamb shank, and guinness pie. Their food never disappoints. The staff are also super friendly. Another time to visit this spot is during december, when it’s packed for the 12 pubs of Christmas. At the end of your meal, you get a postcard of the place too, as an added bonus.

Nice and friendly people in this pub! The waiter keeps joking with guests. Food is just great, perfectly in Dublin’s average prices! The cottage pie is delicious and the surprise topping for the meat was simply delicious! Highly recommended!

A great authentic Irish Pub right in the heart of Dublin. It is perfect for a quick Irish meal during a short stay in Dublin(Business or Vacations). I had the traditional Irish stew and it was delicious. A Guinness order taken upon my arrival which made it even better.

Wanted to like this place because I’d heard a lot of good things about it but the food was so bad. The wings were burned to charred little nuggets and the fried cod was a mushy mess and not at all hot when it got to our table.

Large pub with lots of hearty food options — Guinness Pie, Irish Stew, etc., and other standard pub fare like burgers and fish and chips. Scenes from The Commitments were apparently filmed here so if you’re a fan of the movie you should pay a visit. We stopped in for a few drinks and a leisurely lunch. There were several menus to choose from — I wasn’t hungry enough for a full meal so had the veg soup and baked potato combo from the weekday lunch specials menu which was a good deal at just under € 6. Enjoyed the visit — the food and drinks were fine, and the staff were friendly. Free wi-fi available via BitBuzz here.

A surprisingly good pub, in particular for food. I say«surprisingly» because in this particular area, there’s an elevated risk of walking into a tourist trap when you head for the larger ones. The Hairy Lemon is quite large, and in particular the upstairs area lends itself well to group dinners, whereas the downstairs area is a bit more noisy. Service is friendly and accommodating, even when handling a group of 12 people all trying to make up their minds(that would be us). Nice selection of both slightly more traditional fare(their Irish stew is supposedly excellent) and variations. Decent vegetarian options, not necessarily a lot to choose from, but what is there is is very tasty.

Solid Irish pub, but a bit annoying to order food in one area and drinks in another area, cause they have resultant/bar separation. At least this is what we have been told. Also they don’t accept cards if you order below 10 euros. They have a couple of screens for sports watching, but music plays at the same time, so it’s not very comfortable. The decoration and cosyiness is super cute thou.

I’ve been here a few times and always have great craic in the evenings for drinkies! I love how higildy pigildy it is and has a lot of little nooks and crannys. The staff are always efficient and friendly. I’ve been to lunch here and the food was ok. I had the chicken wrap which was very tasty but could have been presented a bit better. My friends had the gusiness stew which was average and the vegetarian option which let the whole meal down. Firstly they didn’t have what was stated on the menu only informing us after it was requested. With not much other veg options we ordered the substitute which left a lot to be desired. I will be back here again for sure but maybe not for food…

As you know, Dublin is filled with Irish pubs so it can be hard to stand out. The Hairy Lemon meets any and all of your traditional Irish pub expectations and is certainly worth a visit. Additionally, their seafood chowder is fantastic!

Tiny little place, only 10 tables. I was served almost immediately. Lamb chunks were amazing, meat is falling from bone. 4 stars because they have a huge building, but food is served only in a very small room.

We went to the Hairy Lemon for lunch on a Sunday and had a great experience. The food was amazing and the sever was really nice. It’s a cool, authentic place for Irish fare. I had the Chicken breast wrapped in bacon with Guinness onions, goat cheese and on top of mashed potatoes. It was phenomenal. I absolutely recommend this place.

Casual Irish comfort food in a setting that can get pretty loud particularly on Friday evenings. Best choice here is to go for the more traditional options; for example the shepards pie was greatly appreciated by my father. The burger, which I sampled from my friend on another occasion, was alright but a little too dry and the bread appeared as if it was just off the shelf. Both times I’ve had dinner here I have — unfortunately not — been very hungry. Therefore I have looked for the lightest item on the menu which is their salmon platter, half size. It is really nothing specially, but very tasty salmon. And with a bottle of that 22 Euro decent wine, the evening is complete. I’d recommend Hairy Lemon for times when you want some traditional Irish comfort food and/or forgot to book a table for your Saturday night dinner. They tend to have spots here even if you just call a couple of hours before your planned dinner.

When there’s more locals than tourists, you know it’s a solid place. The owner actually collects things customers give him from all over the world and hang it to the walls the pub. He’s started taping them to the ceiling now that he’s run out of space! Friendly and really welcoming guy, not to mention he serves great food. You know that soup that warms you up on a cold and windy day? The traditional Irish stew is that just that perfect bowl of soup.

Good food at a very good price. I had their traditional Irish stew, my mom had the pulled pork wrap. The lamb in my stew was soft and succulent, the pulled pork was tender and juicy. The staff were quick, responsive and enthusiastic. Don’t be frightened by the cramped seating area, the food is amazing and you will feel welcome when you eat here. Also, the TV is probably an indicator that this place also serves as a sports bar.

This was the first place I was brought to when I made my first stop to Dublin. If you are looking for a friendly place, that is a few hundred years old, and looks fab, then this is the place for you. The proprietor, was the most friendly and welcoming male Dublin. Their Guinness was fantastic, and that’s coming from a usual non drinker. Their Battered Cod, was very flaky moist cooked fish. That coming from myself who is a chef, I’ll tell you, it was cooked to perfection. I seen the cottage pie too. Looked yummy with melted grated cheese on top, skinny chips and a jug of gravy. The next day, I had the Breakfast. Perfect size. Very filling. And yet friendly service. Both the proprietor and the Young Irish waitress were lovely. It’s nice to come into a bar to see, actual Irish people working there. The décor, looks like a classy, classic Irish pub. If you haven’t been there, then you know what to do. «Visit» Thanks for being so nice. All the best from Scotland.
