I have been here a few times now for a few different events and I have yet to have a bad experience. It’s not the largest nightclub but they have two bar areas and a dancefloor so what more do you really need? The staff are brilliant and they seem to specialise in 80s/​90s music which is mainly the reason I come back. They tend to cater to a 30+ crowd which is also a plus.

Rain Night club is attached to the Portobello Bar and Hotel. It’s usually quite busy and I can never figure out why. There is nothing special about Rain at all, it’s got comfortable chairs, a dancefloor and VIP area and there are places on Harcourt Street, which have more of an atmosphere. Maybe I’m just biased because most of the people in here are a lot younger than me… Anyways, the place is grand but just not my cup of tea. Head down the road to Tramco or around the corner to Harcourt Street.
