Have just been into the Sultan for lunch — was short on time, as I had to get back to work, but the service and food was great. Got a falafel wrap to go, and the falafels were very tasty –salad with it was fresh, nothing special, but just right for what it was. Have been meaning to stop in here for a while, very happy I did — and it was only a fiver :)

3.5 While nothing can beat the juicy lamb, pink sauce cabbagey mess of Zaytoon, Sultan’s does a pretty good job of second place and is that little bit cheaper. It’s also more vegetarian friendly, with some damn good falafel and veggie kebabs. An excellent option for post pints soakage any day of the week.

The Sultan rocks! We ended up here for some post drinking munchies and we were not dissapointed. Myself and my partner shared a doner kebab. He thought it was too garlicy, but my side was just perfect. Our buddies ordered the hummous and bread. The presentation of this dish was superb(I will attach a photo) and it tasted great too. I will be back and for the falafel most likely next time. Although I did see they do a chip butty. I’ve had a kebeb house style chip butty before it and it was the business. I hope it is here too. So that will be a third time I will have to visit the Sutans. Hurrah!

I tried a chicken Shwarma sandwich(6.50) with a promise of spice(after several requests). I was not disappointed on the spice front, the chilli pepper tossed in with plenty of warnings and disclaimers added a good kick. The chicken was good as well and ample(a bit less would have been plenty), but the salad in retrospect was a mistake — it just did not add anything to the sandwich. The pita on the other hand was good. Next time I would skip the lettuce and ask for a bit of hummus or baba ghanoush(sp?) something to add another layer of flavor. I know this place is just a belly dump, but with careful ordering you might just get a great meal. The counter guys were really helpful and amused by my search for spice(skeptical, as well). As for the restaurant, it was clean and well attended for midafternoon.

Best falafel in town! I’ve been here sober and otherwise and liked it both ways. The falafel balls are large and delicious, the pita is soft, and the price is right at only € 7 for a meal. If you ask for it hot they definitely oblige, and the green garlic sauce is THEBOMB.COM! Wish I could fill my bathtub with this stuff and swim around in it with a straw. Chips are good too – they are the thin, tasty kind and you get a bunch if you order a meal. What I like about Sultan besides the yumo food, is that the inside is nicer than most chippers so you dont feel completely scuzzy eating in. The staff are extremely nice as well. They seem to remember that I like my falafel extra spicy. It’s always good to be remembered right… on second thought I have a vague memories of yelling something like, «EXTRAEXTRAEXTRAHOT I’M SERIOUSABOUTTHIS» obscenely loud one night. If they are still friendly after that, they get an extra star!

I would be one to say that yes, Sultan has the best falafel in town. But it’s the gorgeous sauces that really make this place for me. It’s not very good for sitting down with your food — the seats are far more uncomfortable than their old ones — unless you have a comfortinbg buzz of alcohol numbing your backside for you.

I’ve been told twice that Sultan has the best falafel in town. Maybe they meant to qualify that«at a late-night kebab joint,» but it was tasty enough. For what it is, I’m sure it does just fine falafel-wise. I’ve never been in here completely sober, but the falafel I’ve had on two occasions was nice– and big. Each piece was quite large, and the inside had a green tint. The toppings are plentiful and the dips were tasty. It hits the spot for late-night convenience, and has just got to be head and shoulders above Iskander’s… and right around the corner, to boot.

Sultan is a late-night fast food joint conveniently located in the heart of the party zone, serving very typical post-pub munchies(kebabs, burgers etc.). My last Sultan experience is still a bit of a blur. I was dragged inside after a very long night out on town and desperately needed some food in my stomach to soak up the alcohol. What I do remember is that me and my grub-buddies shared a delicious baba ganoush while waiting for our burgers. Can’t recall anything extraordinary about the burger though. Maybe that’s a good thing? But seeing that I still get a craving for the dip, it must be a winner.
