Good quality Chinese food. Prices are reasonable and selection pretty standard. We felt a bit rushed but the food was good. The lettuce wraps were nice and spring rolls had a nice spice.

Pros Quick service OK food Cons . Very expensive, eg curry does not come with rice or chips . No free prawn crackers . Only one beer choice(but sold as wine!) Guess someone is not paying their beer licence! . Paper table cloth cheapness the place. . 53 euro for 3 main meals, 2 chips, one beer and one coke.

It’s a place with Chinese decoration, the place looks nice and the service is good and fast. As like almost every Chinese restaurant the menu is pretty long, but you can find almost all kinds of food. They have a separate dim sum menu, and they are really good. The ones made with tofu with oyster sauce are awesome, and all the ones with meat are made with Irish meat, so delicious. I’ve also tried the hot & sour soup and it was pretty good tho. Will come back to try some more dumplings.

At the tail end of a week long trip to Ireland, I was jonesing for some of the good stuff. No, not a pint of the black stuff(of which I’d had plenty). No, not a whiskey. A plate of beer chow fun. A hearty staple of Chinese-American food that satisfies and relieves. I came in here a bit before 12:30PM and then it got packed. Locals and tourists. Chinese and Irish. The price was a bit expensive(around 15 euros total) but it was tasty and worth it.

Dim sum is good! In fact, Dunlin has a few Chinese dim-sum restaurants but, this restaurant in a good location and quite reasonable prices of their menus.

I go to the Good World for some home-style comfort food. I believe this is as good as it gets in terms of authenticity. I’ve been quite a handful of times and most of the time I order the same thing — the stir-fry beef rice noodles(not sure if this is the description on the menu as I usually order off-menu. As an Asian foodie, I use various dishes as a measure of quality and this one definitely makes the mark. Last night however, I had dinner there and for the first time I tried their set menu for the early bird. They had two sets to choose from and I went with the more expensive set for the choice of mains(Appetizer and dessert lists were the same). Set A was € 16.99, Set B was € 19.99 for a 3 course meal. I had the hot and sour soup and the Roast duck with banana fritter as dessert. Hot and sour soup somehow was not like my mum’s homemade version, although I couldn’t expect true home-cooked goodness can I? :) Soup consistency was thick the way I like them, but the taste as a bit off mark for me. The roast duck as DELISH, but I would say it was a bit too much on the fattier side for me, although I could probably request otherwise next time. The dessert was a nice surprise, I didn’t know I could get fritters anywhere in Dublin. They’re not made quite the way it should be caramelized and crystallized, but instead it was a lightly breaded banana topped with a caramel sauce. Still very good though and left me thoroughly stuffed. My friend and I shared a bottle of white wine(€ 19.99) and we paid about € 30 each. Thoroughly stuffed and satisfied, although I don’t think I will order off a set menu again. Their full menu has so much more to offer, and if you get enough people you can order enough variety to share(as their portions are sharing size). YUM!

You have to know what to order here. I’d definitely go back and try it again with different menu choices. I was outvoted by the people at my table who were looking for Americanized Chinese food… so what could I do. I’m not picky. The starters were the best part — dumpings and aromatic duck. The duck pancakes are a DON’T MISS. I haven’t been able to find good ones where I live in the United States, so having these here was a real treat. Finding the right balance of the shredded duck between crispy skin, slivers of fat and tender duck meat is hard to achieve. This duck was pretty much perfect. And the pancakes were thin but not tough. I’d go back here just to eat these again. Mistakenly, we chose chicken & cashew stir fry and beef curry as our mains. Blah. Very bland and unexciting. I also hate curries that just have dissolved curry powder in them as flavour. It seems that if you know a bit about good Chinese food and feel adventurous with the menu, this place would be better. There is made-to-order dim sum on the menu. This place is a welcome change from the meat and potatoes of the Irish diet. Just remember to choose wisely.

Went off others rec’s and the food was great! A little pricey but it was a very good meal. Ordered the mixed meat dumplings and shared the Chern Bo Chicken. They said it was spicey but it could have used more spice. Overall great experience!

Personally, this was a terrible experience. I was branded as a westerner as soon as I walked in the door, given a table with different setting and a different menu. However I did not notice this until after I ordered as they had just opened for lunch. A group of men came in and got the same treatment as I did but the two Chinese couples who came soon after were greeted much more warmly than us outsiders and given a more extensive menu. My starter, a spring roll, arrived, from a waiter who didn’t bother to look at me as I said thank you. While it was nice and crispy it was tasteless and oily. The main, sweet and sour chicken, arrived with the same treatment from the waiter. This was much more pleasant with a good portion size. The dessert, a fruit salad, was terrible. Soggy bland fruit obviously out of a can with whipped cream also from a package. Maybe I was simply not«in the know» about something as all other reviews I saw gave 5 stars but for me it was a real disappointment.

This was our Easter lunch, and it was great. Delicious dim sum, plus excellent food we ordered off-menu for the kids(chicken and broccoli, plain noodles). The wait staff was friendly and we ordered more than we could eat but we were happy to be stuffed.

For me this is currently the best Chinese restaurant I know in Dublin. I order the Chinese menu and usually end up eating the duck and pork. The food is delicious. Some Chinese, some people eating curry and chips and some foodies. Great dim sum, friendly and discreet staff. I go often. Def

I pass this place so often, and I never new it existed as it doesn’t stand out very much form its bustling surroundings. I went here with my parents and their friends who had booked it for after the rugby match and it was full to capacity. I had the vegetable spring rolls to start and they were delicious. I’m vegetarian and the menu surprisingly didn’t offer a great range so for my main I asked the waiter could they make something spicy with tofu, absolutely no meat. He obliged with a twinkle in his eye. The best tofu I have ever had, and plenty of it. All the meat eaters at the table agreed and preferred it even to their own dishes. Really lovely staff. Three stars because I didn’t think my fellow diners were as wowed as I was, and because the interiors are a little sterile. I thoroughly enjoyed my mountain of tofu though,

We went there for lunch today and had some of the best dim sum of my life. We ordered ha gau, long shrimp noodles, and beef shumai, and loved every bite. A note of caution for dim sum newbies– you order from a pictureless menu, and there are no carts, so I suggest going with someone familiar with the cuisine if this is your first time.

Terrible. If I could give this ½ a star I would. The chow mien was so gross, slimy and such an odd flavor. I honestly ate maybe two bites. My friend got the chili chicken and the piece of chicken is a joke. It’s literally the width of my very small pinky finger. It’s supposed to be shredded chicken, it’s actually just air and bread. Bluk!!! NEVERAGAIN!!!

Best duck pancakes in Dublin ! Service not always smiley but they get things done. Dim sum are great, but why not in the evening? They stop the dim sum quite early, check before you go if that’s what you really want.

Looking for Dim Sum in Dublin, I received a recommendation for this place on Georges St. Looking at the menus posted outside the restaurant, I started to have second guesses about this place actually having dim sum as it is not well highlighted(I think they highlight these 2 portion and three portion lunch and dinners instead). I decided to proceed anyway and to my delight, when i sat down and opened the menu, the first two pages are exclusively dim sum! This place is a nice, authentic Chinese dining experience and it is not surprising why this place really fills up at lunch time. There was a wait for tables despite the numerous dining options around this area. I ordered way to much dim sum which always seems to happen every time I go to a dim sum restaurant. It is way to easy with each set of 3 – 4 pieces costing only 3 – 4 Euro. It was not difficult to finish every last piece though(dumplings, rolls, buns). This place makes incredible dim sum and they have most options you could desire. My one complaint is that they didn’t seem to really have dumpling sauce. Every other time I have ever had dim sum, it is served with a dumpling sauce. To their credit, they did give us soy sauce and a sauce platter with spicy sauce, mayo type sauce and garlic sauce, but just not the same as I had experienced in the past. The dim sum was great without the sauce anyway. Maybe my past experiences of dumpling sauce with dim sum was the«Americanized version».

This is my favourite Chinese restaurant! The reason: the most delicious dim sum ever! This place is full of Chinese people which is a great sign and they all know the best place to go for dim sum in Dublin ! If you’ve never been here before they will automatically give you a standard green menu which has the normal european Chinese dishes we’re all used to; curry, sweet and sour, green pepper and black bean sauce etc. Ask for the dim sum menu and try at least one dish! if you’re prepared to order solely from the dim sum menu then it works out very reasonable if you go with one or more person. The more the better! I’d recommend the glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaf, char Sui bun or char Sui puff and if you like fish then the prawn dumpling is a must have(It’s delicious and I get it each time I’m there). The chinese bok choi vegetables with ginger and garlic are lovely too. For the more adventurous of you; try any cheung fun dish(prawn is my favourite) and the yam croquette! ! The dim sum will be served with Chinese green tea which compliments it perfectly. At first I found the staff to be not overly friendly but certainly not rude. Since becoming a regular i always get a big smile and a friendly welcome and the staff are engaging and attentive. Its gotten to the point where i really feel like they go that extra mile to make a fuss of me. If they get to know you then they are very friendly and they remember dishes you like and whether you like to eat from a bowl with chopsticks of from a plate with a knife and fork! So to summarise, if you’ve never been then go with an open mind and an appetite! I promise that you’ll leave with a big smile and a full and happy tummy!

To be honest I’ve never been a big fan of Chinese food, probably because of one too many greasy take-outs. And then a friend dragged me to the Good World restaurant– I won’t say I’ve completely changed my mind but I did like the dinner here. We went for the early bird menu and I had spring rolls for starters, Chow Mein and banana fritters as dessert– all for 17.50 Euro!!!- and the food was delicious. The spring rolls were maybe a bit too greasy but that’s really the worst I can say about the food. The staff were friendly enough and I can recommend this place to anyone who likes Chinese food.
