Great selection of beers. Food is rustic pub but top drawer. Best burger I’ve had in a long time! Nice vibe

I really like this place — it’s got a cool vibe, very cool décor, mostly band stickers/posters/merch & graffiti. I also loved the background music. Really eclectic stuff. The food is great! I had the chicken wings(which can be hit & miss regardless of where you go) & I really enjoyed them. The perfect mix of vinegary-hotness & full on flavour, with good sized wings that had real meat on the bones. & they’ve got great craft beers on tap! Definitely worth a look in if you’re close by! Taking a star away because the toilets left a little to be desired, but I suppose it was in keeping with the décor in the rest of the place…

Have been here a few times for the crafty beers but had not had the food. On the menu they have a very reasonable 8 options for 8 yoyos. I went for the beef stew as it was cooked with some of their own crafty porter! Very tasty and perfect for a wintery afternoon spot of lunch :)

The brew dog. What a quality spot. A beer cave to explore. The extremely friendly staff take the care and time with each and every thirsty customer to ensure their taste and beer buds are met. The food is filling and exactly what you’ll be looking for while drinking your new favourite beer!(please get sweet potato chips back) Waste the day/night away passing janga under candle light! I love this place. It’s exactly what I want in a bar. World class service with quality beer.(please also, get more tap 6 and bring in Wicklow wolf) Keep up the great service. Well done.

A spot of Christmas shopping with the mothership on a rainy Saturday complete, we went here to give our soggy feet a break and have a good old fashioned sambo and cuppa. We sat upstairs and, while busy the service was patchy as there were only 2 staff for whole bar. My mother had a ham and cheese sandwich which came out with bread hard like concrete. We asked for it to be changed and we were told it had been stored in the fridge and they would sort it out. Also being an Irish mammy she was shocked to find it had no butter on… sacrilege. So they took note and reassured us they sort it. Grand we thought. It came back fresher and with some sachets of butter on the plate. She ate half and brought the other home to feed the dog. She was not impressed. At € 6.95 we expected more. I had a falafel wrap and must say it was tasty. I decided to go to the bar to pay as the staffing of the area was sparse but, at the bar the service wasn’t any quicker. While paying the girl who had served us I told her that the ham and cheese sandwich wasn’t great(she never asked). I gave her an excuse by asking if it’s normally served toasted. ‘No’, she replied. My mind is still boggling how you can get such a staple so wrong and charge € 7. Stick to the beer… Dont bother with the ham sambo

Delicious, proximate pub with top-notch beer of their own(Galway Bay Brewery) and serviceable cuisine(beef stew was perfectly portioned and straightforward).

Found this great craft beer bar while on vacation. We were on vacation from the States and wanted to find a local craft beer bar while in town. The Galway Bay beers were really good especially the IPA selections. The first evening we went it was busy, and loud due to everyone talking which I didn’t mind. The next time we went there, it was quieter and not as busy so we were able to sit up at the bar and talk to the bartenders. They were really cool and we enjoyed talking craft beer to them. I highly recommend this place when looking for a craft beer bar, it’s not far from the Temple Bar area, definitely walking distance and really close to Connolly Station. We did not eat the food so I can’t comment on that but the onion rings there looked really good!

Love the Galway Bay Brewery! All their establishments are quality. The Brew Dock is a really cool bar, great beers, excellent bar food and really sound staff. Always very friendly, chatty and helpful in explaining the drinks on offer and providing a sample before ordering. Refillable growlers also available now so you can even take some of your favourite tipple home! The bar is in a good location on the Luas line so even if you don’t live or work in the area it is pretty accessible and definitely worth a visit.

Great local gem that came recommended by a local that we met at the Hard Rock. Wife claims it was the best burger she had ever ate, it was good for certain. We shared a portion of the burger as well as the fish and chips. The fish was lacking flavor but presentation was great. «Buried by the Sea» was a great local brew, just enough coffee and chocolate to take the edge off of the stout. I really enjoyed.

Galway Bay Brewery bar near Connolly Station. Decent selection of craft beers and cider. Haven’t eaten here at all but I believe the food is pretty good

One of a very good collection of Galway Bay bars. Enjoy all of Galway Bay’s own masterpieces and compare them with the best the world has to offer in craft/speciality beer. The food is also lovely. I had the fish and chips which were perfectly beer batter. Best I’ve had in a good while.

The Brew Dock and her sister bars spearheaded the craft beer movement in Dublin, but now that everyone else is doing it, it is struggling to distinguish itself. Unlike the Black Sheep and Against The Grain, this place can get a very rough crowd sometimes and you’d definitely want to keep your wits about you on your way home. If you’re looking for a pint while you wait for a train, the Brew Dock will oblige. Be sure to ask for the price of a beer before you order, as some of them are alarmingly steep!

What a great pub! Close to our hotel in the Docklands. An amazing selection of beers, both Local Irish and a few from the US. The staff is amazing and knowledgable. The locals are super friendly, made us feel right at home. If I didn’t know better, I would think this was my local brew pub back in Vegas. A must try if you want to try«other» Irish beers while in Dublin. Soo happy we found this pub.

Pubs that serve craft beer are no longer a rarity. In fact, they’re becoming nearly as common as a regular pub in Dublin. But BD is kinda different. It used to be a much older, sort of ‘locals only’ place called Kate’s Cottage. When it changed ownership I was dubious at first, but this place is done right. Rustic and friendly rolled into one. There’s a sign outside that reads«No crap on tap» and they’re right. You 100% will not get a pint of Budweiser here :) Staff are knowledgeable and helpful if you’re unsure about what to order. The real gem is their lunch menu, good value and LOADS of options. Sneaky lunch pints are always a bonus too!

I see this bar as the ugly and not very nice sister of The Black Sheep and Against the Grain. Yes, it serves the same beers, same-ish food and has board games. Now that we’ve cleared that, let me explain why I’ve only ever had the one beer there, even though it’s pretty close to where I work and close enough to where I live. The first thing that puts me off is the crowd that usually frequents the Brew Dock. Sure you can just ignore other people, but don’t go there expecting the occasional banter with some interesting stranger or anything of the like. What you can expect is office parties. Then there’s the staff. They are nothing like their more helpful and cheery counterparts at the Black Sheep. Unfortunately I got to experience some downright OTT rudeness. They also don’t seem to like to explain to people anything about the beers they have on offer, and that’s a big put off in a bar that prides itself in serving craft beers. So, if you already know some other good places to have your crafty beers around town, I’d say avoid the Brew Dock. If you’re around this area of town and want the occasional beer, sure go ahead, just make sure to keep your expectations low for the general atmosphere of the place. But I wouldn’t recommend it and don’t think it’s a place where you’d put down roots.

Smoked beer — liquid bacon!!! This is a great place to go for any beer lover. The owner treats it almost like a temple for the godly brew. Drop in for a few tasters on what they have on tap or try one of the many selections they have on offer as well. It is also a great place for pub-food. They have a great plater for sharing, so do bring some friends for a few hours of great beer and nom-noms.

After several great experiences in The Black Sheep, we decided to give their sister pub a go. To be honest, the first impression is not great — the barman seemed rather brash for a craft beer gastropub but friendly enough. It also didn’t have the homely atmosphere which The Black Sheep has — perhaps due to the split level setup. The food more than made up for it — we shared a steak burger and fish and chips… both were excellent and portions were so big we didn’t need dinner after! We also enjoyed several pints — Metalman, Galway Hooker, Sierra Nevada and Crew Summer Beer while spending a lazy afternoon playing board games. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area :)
