Highest time for a review, now that «The Pier Inn» is the Whiskey Fair for quite a while already!
So we went recently with a group of friends. One of us had a mishap with his Guinness Glass and the staff was very easy and helpful in cleaning up the mess.
Some later left and the two of us staying had something to eat. I went for the chicken Burger and I ordered caramelised onions on top (€ 1.00 extra but that’s fine I think). Unfortunately it came accidentially with bacon instead. Once I realised that (it took me two bites) I asked one of the staff if that can get corrected. She didn’t quite understad the issue (non-​native english speaker so my german accent didn’t help), but she asked her colleague to check with us and my order got sorted no problem!
So apart from being a very tasteful burger (I loved the onions with it), with lovely garlic mayo and chips it was very impressed by the staff — usually I hesitate saying something so I was very happy how it was dealt with.
My friend had the Pasta with prawn and chorizo and was in heaven — and the portion was very generous.
So apart from the Whiskey Fair having a lovely range of drinks, very good food (and all mains 24⁄7 for € 10) and very good staff, I like the atmosphere. Ok, the live music can be a bit loud, but with the snug and other seperators in the room you can hide and are still able to talk.
