Popped in there this evening to buy a vitamin and found it a gobsmacking € 13 more expensive than another well known Dublin chain of health food stores. Not only do I not like the vibe of this place(more tesco that the more friendly helpful independent health food stores who are heartily vegan/nutritionists/therapists in training and look like they belong in health foods), the prices difference was crazy. As I was mentioning this to the staff, who muttered something about«Dundrum rents» another customer chimed in to agree. She never offered to take feedback, or heaven forbid, price match. So spoke with my wallet and left my vitamin on the shelf. Fine if you are just popping in for something specific, but there are far more professional and reasonably prices establishments more deserving of your hard earned cash.

I have a love-hate relationship with shops like the Health Store. I love the incredible selection of healthy goods, nuts, spirolina and other vitamins and remedies, soy products, muesli etc. I hate that I can’t afford to shop here all the time. The prices for healthy organic products are quite steep, and the Health Store offers pretty similar prices to other healthy shops in town. All the same, you at least know exactly what is in your food. If you are conscious about what you eat, buying products without all the unwanted ingredients, that is worth the extra spending, if you can afford it.

Buying something from this shop makes you feel good, maybe it is just because it says«health» on the outside so your tricked into thinking that everything in there is good for you! But the thing is that alot of it is! Everything the sell is natural(or at least looks like a natural product!) so if your looking for a partucular type of nut or grain you’ve come to he right place! It’s good for getting ingrediants for coeliacs too and diabetics and vegetraians/vegans and most other food allergies you can think of. It has a selection of eco products too like eco friendly washing powder and the like. Lastly it has those massive tubs of muscle builder stuff that I always stare at open mouthed cause they are so intimiating looking! Last thing I will add to the list of things this shop does is hair dye, the ammonia free natural type, I know lots of people who look for this so this is where you get it people!
