Little bar with the best bartender. My friend and I started our night at this bar and the bartender took care of us, and made sure we had a good time. The thing with bars in Killarney, or maybe all of Ireland is, the Irish are really sweet and helpful, they treat you like one of them, like a friend, give you pizza, or recommend to you where to go, and not worry about other businesses stealing their customers. The 98 bar was great, with superb hospitality, good live music, and an overall fun time.

Stopped in on a whim. The sign said«Live Music 7’ish». Tiny little shotgun bar. Live music w accordion and guitar. Two genial, funny and talented musicians made this experience truly great for us. Genuine Irish music with the hand-clapping and all. I was helped out of my coat by a drunken Irishman, who, from their barbs and sniping, apparently knew the band, and was danced around the tiny little floor before I even had a chance to order my whiskey. The music was great. The atmosphere fun and raucous. We stayed for hours. The session ended with old men getting up in front of the microphone and singing plaintive classics like«Danny Boy» while the band accompanied and the crowd sang along. We befriended the guys in the band who drank w us during the breaks. Believe it when people say the Irish are the friendliest people on the planet. This bar, and these musicians epitomized that ideal. We had the best night. We were just glowing from the fun of it. Killarney was a fun town. This bar was the best. Stop in around 7’ish and have a pint while you listen to some great Irish music and are made to feel right at home. Can’t recommend this place enough.
