I loved this place! My friend and I were visiting from the States and asked around for more ‘local’ pubs in the area. When we found out that this one shared my name, we were sold and it definitely did not disappoint. We went there two nights in a row and both nights, there was a great turnout, the bartenders were friendly and helpful, and the drink selection was great. There is a huge list of whiskeys and beers on tap and the staff made us feel right at home. I was able to get a Courtney’s lighter and matchbox as souvenirs, which was really exciting for me. I highly recommend Courtney’s! One thing to note is that they don’t take card so be prepared for that.

Quite easily the best bar in Killarney. They have a very decent bottle selection of Irish and international craft beer. The tap selection is somewhat lacking though and I think a lot more could be done. It seems like the sort of bar that could swap most of their taps for independent Irish beers without annoying the clientèle. Beer aside, it has a fantastic atmosphere. It’s both cosy and inviting as well as spacious, depending in which part of the bar you are in. The staff are friendly. On a cold or wet evening, the roaring fire is a welcoming touch.

Umm idk why this bar has such great reviews. Just kinda meh. And the bartenders dont even make cocktails. And it closed before midnight… what is that?

Courtney’s Bar — Est. 1891. What a great pub! We enjoyed some traditional live music by Tim O’Shea & Friends”. Met some lovely people from Holland. It was quite crowded — filled with lots of happy people. Big selection of Irish Whiskey. We didn’t indulge last night but we liked this bar so much we’ll probably go back again tonight!

I came here for the Unilocal deal, 20% off on craft beer. However upon my request, the bartender said that they never agreed to any Unilocal deal. He said they’ve tried to remove it with no luck. Back to the bar. So instead of trying a craft beer, I stuck with Bulmer’s. They also have a vast selection of whiskey. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the whiskeys. I am not a whiskey aficionado, so the bartender asked me a few questions and ended up recommended the Greenore. It was delicious. The lady bartender was very friendly as well and chatted with us a little. The vibe was very cliquey and dark. However, if you already have good company, it’s a great place to check out. The bartenders are great, and the drink selection is awesome.

My wife and I came here on a slow Monday evening and there were lots of people in here. The bar is really clean and in great condition. As you walk in the bar there are plenty of space between tables and the bar. Courtney’s has a large selection of whiskers & scotch to try. I ordered the Jameson 18 year, Middleton very rare and the Connemara Turf Mor. The bartender was very knowledgable about the different types of whiskeys and also gave us a great recommendation for traditional Irish beef stew at the Failte hotel. I would highly recommend this bar. It is part of the Irish Whiskey Trail.

There is a good reason this place is on the whiskey trail! They have ~50 different Irish whiskeys available to try and have a very friendly staff. Courtney’s had some great people in the bar as well. The bartender made a few excellent recommendations of Irish whiskey for us to try and offered his insight into others that we didn’t.

Dark and cozy is what it was. Courtneys: pulling pints in three centuries, or so the sign said. Good music session while I was in there; a tribute to Bob Dylan(aka Robert Zimmerman) and some traditional music. There were actual locals hanging out here and not just a bunch of tourist(I think at 10pm most of them were safely tucked into Sheehans). They had an extensive tap and bottle selection, kudos. If I ever went back to Killarney(which I sadly doubt that I will) I would go back here. THISISMY100THREVIEW
