We decided to stop in Kinsale on our whirlwind tour of Ireland because we’d heard good things about the food scene. Finn’s Table absolutely made it worth it. My husband’s crab salad appetizer was fresh and light and delicious, and yet somehow paled in comparison to my fried egg, spinach mousse and smoked salmon appetizer. It was just the perfect combination of salty and savory and crispy. I don’t even like lamb, but my husband’s slow roasted lamb shoulder was so tender and he said the sweet potatoes were perfect with it. I wouldn’t know though– he inhaled them too fast. I had the surf n turf, and my only regret is I didn’t order the whole lobster instead. The lobster was just so perfectly cooked. Everything is locally sourced and incredibly fresh, and while a tad bit pricey, you definitely feel like you get your money’s worth with generous portions of amazing food.

This place is BRILLIANT!!! And, by that I mean the food, the staff and the atmosphere. We had the mussels cooked in coconut, garlic and fresh herbs, and the lightly curried parsnip and apple soup which both had bold flavor while being subtlety layered. Next, we had the surf and turf. Irish beef cooked to perfection, wow, no losers here. Let’s add to that a sweet, moist beautifully flavored lobster tail and nirvana is near:-). The wine list, heavy on French wines, was an introduction to us. I am taking a picture of the wine list to take home with me. Yes, it’s that good. Come one, come all! DELICIOUS!

Thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Finn’s Table. They begin with an amuse bouche, in this case smoked chicken which had a very nice flavor. Started with fried egg with smoked salmon and spinach mousse. One of the best starters I’ve had anywhere. The egg is deep fried in a ball, and the starter is best if you combine everything on the fork. My main was black sole and prawns. The sole was cooked perfectly. The prawns were great, tasted more like lobster or crayfish than prawns but not a bad thing. My children both had surf and turf, it was also excellent. Nice large pieces of lobster and a perfectly cooked steak. The service was very friendly. A couple of bumps when really crowded but nothing to complain about. Overall, a great meal in a city with great restaurants.

Recommended Lovely place with skillfully prepare fine dining dishes by Chef John. I had the scollops and shrimp with mashed peas. Perfectly prepare and delicately seasoned. My wife had the early bird. Pork belly. It was crisp on top and bottom with a juicy and tender middle. Had a bottle of french pinot noir that worked very well with both.
