No stars if I could. Place is overpriced for mediocre food. Place is obnoxious and unfriendly! It’s use to be a great place years ago before the revamp, that was all about exclusivity and cashing in on the location! They have ruined the beach front experience, it once was!

I had fish and chips which were pretty ok. Not overly oily and the fries were good. My wife opted for a burger. Big mistake but it sounded good after eating large meals at pretty good restaurants all through Ireland. When it came it crumbled in the bun and in your hand and you could not pick it up. We were told that it was due to the fresh meat that was used Oh really… I have grilled burgers on webers, Kamado/Komodo’s, in the house, etc., and I use fresh meat and turkey and never has this happenned before so she ate it with knife and fork. They said they would take it back but what would that do since that is the way it is served!!! The waitress thought maybe they forgot a binder! If it is so fresh why does it need a binder. When making turkey burgers and egg sometimes helps out with the dryness of the meat but certainly beef doesn’t need it unless their beef contained no fat which I think not. The restaurant staff was very nice and accomodating but the place was a bit loud since it seemed that many families carried about 5 kids with them and they ran all over the place. So bottom line if you are not after a culinary experience and just want a quick meal, be ready for a less then average dinner. Since the euro was strong, the place was not inexpensive either. Though the décor is lovely and the location ideal, I was underwhelmed by the food. The Mexican Tortilla Chips(ie Nachos) were good but the chopped tomatoes tasted like they were from a can and by the time we got to the second layer it was a mushy mess. The special was Cottage Pie and I had high hopes for a comforting meaty dish. Meaty indeed, but it lacked much flavor. The portion was enough for two people to be sure. Lots of minced beef with a few carrots topped with mashed potatoes and cheese. No peas or other veg and the mash was so-so. After that, I opted to skip dessert. I’ll not be returning there though I believe the menu may just need tweaking. Wish I’d ordered the fish though oddly the cod came with potatoes and veg, but the salmon did not come with the same options. Price for main courses average around € 10 – 15 though with a starter/dessert/wine/coffee/tea, it can run € 30 per person. When we made the reservation for our large group it was not mentioned that they did not have the space to seat us together. This was stated when we arrived for dinner and in the end we asked them to configure the tables in a specific way so we could be at one table and they complied kindly. However, we did not get silverware until our starters arrived and even then were short a few settings.

A great place to catch a pint on a sunny day. They’ve got outdoor seating, and it’s located right on the sea. Perfect for people/bird/water watching, and just relaxing.
