Most items can be made vegan. Way to go Limerick! Good in a pinch. Little bit pricey for Thai food, but it was decent. The décor is niche the staff is friendly. Parking is a bit rough.

Tried Kaya with a group of friends. There were 7 of us in total and we went in for a late lunch and found the service to be very quick and the waiter was polite and helpful. We got served our food very quickly which was good and there was a wide option of foods to choose from. There were a few faults I found such as the fact that the food came at different times for everyone which left us waiting for others to get their food before we ate. The choice of music was pretty terrible and not very fitting for a restaurant. There’s also no options for dessert on the menu which is slightly disappointing. However the food was very affordable and a bottle of wine was only 18 euro for a decent Sauvignon Blanc. All in all you get what you pay for but some small improvements could be made such as the ones I outlined

Kaya is a great Thai restaurant, I would say the best in limerick. The staff are very welcoming and it’s nice and cosy in there(you can get Asian styled pillows for your seat if you want!!) There is a pretty good selection for vegetarians. I’ve been there a few times now and every time I’ve had something different. The food is delicious. I found there is more emphasis on creating the best flavour from the infusion of the veg, instead of relying on the sauce. I’m not saying their sauces are bad or anything, because they’re not at all; the satay sauce has a very rich peanut taste that you wouldn’t find anywhere else and all the sauces are unique in their own way. Every time I’ve been to Kaya I’ve had different starters as I want to taste everything they have to offer! My favourite has to be the Thai spring rolls, which are small and elegant but perfect for a starter. This lovely tasting, crispy roll is filled with carrots, bean sprouts, onions and much more served with a small salad(I really dislike when places serve a huge side salad with your order — especially when it’s not mentioned) For mains there is a lot to choose from, even for me as a vegetarian, because most dishes can be served without meat! I really like the Pad Thai, again the flavours really come out of the veg. Also the Thai curries are delightful; quite hot and slightly thick(some places give you curries that are too liquid and runny) I would recommend Kaya to anyone who likes a proper decent Thai. Available for take away also if you want to enjoy it at home :)

Rated as the best thai in the city, it could be true for Limerick but for sure this restaurant wouldn’t stand out compared too many thai places in other countries. I took the laab gai as a starter, there was way too much chicken and not enough salad and fresh herbs… The pad thai also suffered from dry chicken and a lack of coriander, spring onions… I also don’t like when i order a soft drink to get a glass already filled from a plastic bottle… and not a can or a glass bottle.

Absolutely authentic and delicious! It was EXACTLY what I was craving for, and Kaya delivered! This is a MUST try Thai place while you are staying in Limerick. Since this is right across the street from our hotel, and since the reviews were raving this place hardcore, we had to try here for lunch. The décor truly reminded me of Manhattan. Super modern with pillows decorating the perimeter for the establishment, to the music playing. to the tables we sat down at. It was definitely a causal yet slightly dress vibe, that got me feeling a bit homesick. The white walls and the artsy wall décor was really a Manhattan-inspired backdrop; really nice. Good for a group meet up or a date. We got the green chicken curry and the Kee Mao. The green chicken curry was absolutely amazing! The flavors were unlike any Thai place I’ve experienced in New York, and know that these spices were from a real Thailand source. They delighted my senses; it was a mouth and mind blowing experience. The Kee Mao was really what we Americans call, Drunken Man Noodle, and it is my favorite go-to dish every time I eat Thai. It was spicy with plenty of shrimps(with the tails cleaned and removed; something so small, but alot of places don’t do this) and it was a fairly decent portion. I can still smell it in my brain. My hubby and I literally sat and chilled here for hours; so much so, they ended up lighting candles for the dinner crowd when we left. They didn’t hound us for the bill to leave, or to order something else — we were left ALONE. Thank you for understanding that we are fat and full and just taking in the scenery. Kaya, you obviously know what you are doing. Keep the people happy — don’t change!

This place was mentioned by a bartender at the White House as being the best Asian restaurant(or just Thai maybe) in the area so we checked it out. Still being on Phoenix time we arrived at 9 pm. About half the restaurant was full. The food is AMAZING. The veggies are clearly fresh, none of that MSG stuff they use in the states(yuck!). We got the chicken Tom Kah soup — one of the best bowls I have ever had, number 34 and number 39(duck dish). Duck was amazing! Veggies were generous and so was the meat. The chicken peanut disk(34) was low on the veggies but very generous on the chicken, which tasted fresh. What a fabulous place. 5 stars without hesitation!

Pros: + Seemed like the best Thai option in town. Comparable to the Thai food we have in Hollywood. I can see Kaya as a high-end dining option in a bigger metropolis. In fact, this could be one of the better dining options in general when in Limerick. + Beautiful space. It’s trendy and chic. The décor is on point. If you sit by the window, you get a cool view of O’Connell Street and its passerby. + Service was great; staff are courteous and prompt. + The food was delicious. I ordered the yellow curry and friend ordered the pad-see-ew. Both dishes were fresh and savory. + The table of locals next to us were wonderfully loud and boisterous. Post-work happy hour, I’m thinking. + Easy to locate, though you could say this about most places in Limerick. + Why not 5 stars? The locals think it appropriate. I would’ve tried everything else on the menu if I had the time and stomach! Till next time, Kaya. Cons: — None.

This is hands down the best Thai restaurant in Limerick. The atmosphere is clean, streamlined, and comfortable with a touch if modern and Asian. The menu is diverse, offering a separate kids menu that my kids actually like, a great wine menu with selections I would have chosen myself, and a lunch menu for those who want to take advantage of some tasty Thai food quickly. The dinner menu is phenomenal and the chefs use fresh, high quality ingredients. It is vegetarian friendly and celiac friendly so those with hard to please preferences can find good food as well. I highly recommend the fresh Thai spring rolls and the massaman and green curries. They also have take out. This restaurant is ideal for singles, couples, families, business lunch/dinner and small parties of 4 – 8. I hope they stay for a long time!
