We tried calling in the afternoon but nobody picked up. Tried to do a walk in but the person at the bar was incredibly rude and we were told that he could only accommodate us 2 hours later. It was pretty empty and there were only 4 people and it seemed their capacity was around 40 – 50.

A perfect evening. The ravioli, wine, hospitality and ambiance are all perfect. The prices are almost embarrassingly low. Head here for your first meal and you’ll set the right tone for a romantic, memorable trip. You should probably call for a reservation, but we were lucky and got an open seat at the window late in the evening. Take note of their limited hours as well. I believe they are open until 10:30 Thursday — Saturday. This is a short walk(23 min.) to all the sites/hotels in the city center/train station. It’s just south of the river.

Speechless. These carefully made meals made us weep they were so incredible. The owner and his mother take meticulous care in creating seasonal, artful dishes bursting with flavor. We ordered the wild boar paparedelle and the spaghetti with truffle. This gets a 6 on my star meter especially because there is no garlic at all in his preparation of majority dishes — even the pesto. Wha what??? Pesto without garlic? In heaven.(In case you didn’t notice I don’t eat garlic due to an extremely severe food intolerance). Owner also bottles his own wine and we I will be back to purchase a bottle. The presentation and atmosphere of this place — just wow. On my top 5 list of Firenze. Can not wait to go back.

The menu changes I think everyday depending on what the market had in store for them. There’s a chalk board for the menu of the day which would give you choices for 1st and 2nd courses. We had the truffle ravioli and some kind of beef stew. And wanted to share an appetizer but the waiter had his nose too high up in the air probably thinking that we’re just like all the other stupid tourists who don’t know how to eat«italian» style as we only got 2 mains. I honestly would have left but really around that time, everything was almost already closing so we just had to suck it up to eat. Lol overall, food was great and of course they had a good selection of wine too. It’s on the pricier side and I’m glad they are not used to getting 20% minimum tips in Italy cuz that guy didn’t deserve a penny. Whatever. Truffle ravioli was good.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this amazing restaurant! Chef Alberto’s chalkboard menu was perfectly charming and an intimate intro to his delicious cuisine! Rabbit Tagliatelle rich & tender. The ricotta ravioli with black truffles melted in my mouth. The pear ravioli was light, unique & tasty. Get his Zeb red blend(house label) it was great! Best meal in Florence by far!

Food, could not complain. Delicious. Service, unfortunately, did not parallel. The main waiter was extremely rude(I am not one to complain about this usually), but he made us feel like trash. We wanted to split an appetizer and he was indignant about that idea. Had the service been better, I would have easily given 5 stars, but I detest being in such stuck-up settings.

The food here is excellent. Alberto and his mother Josephine run the show and they have a very particular way of getting things done. Some customers who were curious about the second courses available on display stepped over to see. These customers were told to get back to their seats, I thought that was kind of awkward but I get since it’s a tight space and it needs to stay orderly I guess this is how it’s done. I can only say very positive things about the pastas with truffles and their wines. It saddens me that Alberto, such a talented man with his food and wine, fails to be a little warmer towards his customers. We were lucky both times we dined in for lunch, no wait & seated right away. Others who weren’t so lucky crowded by the door way waiting anxiously for a seat. Our first time dining there prices seemed fair and reasonable. The second time we were accidentally charged for an extra wine, which we pointed out and it was fixed right away… Overall a great place for lunch, pastas, home cooked foods & wines but just a bit of a cold shoulder from Alberto… Also I found it was weird we couldn’t take photos of the beautiful interior… I had to explain in depth and show her my diary with the wine section to Josaphine that I was on vacation just to see the bottle of wine she poured so I could record it as a memory. They are scared that people will photograph their bottles of wine and purchase elsewhere. I don’t like that kind of energy, to me it is petty and silly. Their food is great but this is a perfect example of how nothing in life is 100%. In this case they have excellent food and wine selection but not the most common sense of customer service and manners. Breakdown of how it works: get seated. Order water sparkling or flat, wine optional. Order Primo(optional). Order Secondi(optional). Order Dolce(optional). Tips: Convenient location about a 5 minute walk from the Piazzale Michelangelo lookout. ASK for the prices! My truffle pasta dish(primo) was 14 Euros, very reasonable… My secondi was 12 Euros. Red wines by the glass are € 6 and white is € 5.

Amazing, perfect, yummy delicious. Pear ravoli(a MUST get!), ribs, pesto with sundried tomatoes and stuffed rabbit porchetta(salty dish but good!)…it was all so good and a very good price. Wasn’t crazy about the fennel and grape cake but it just wasn’t something I would like anyway. Would eat here again and again. Make reservations if you are planning on dinner at 9… they get busy!

Terrible experience. I lived in Florence for almost a year and was always very impressed with the hospitality and kindness of the people. But Zeb was nothing but cold and really dampened my husband’s first night and experience in Florence. We called to make 8:30 reservations and when we arrived the place was quite crowded. After waiting almost five minutes without anyone so much as saying hello, I finally flagged down the one waiter and checked in. He then brought the owner and the owners mother over, and we were told that the reservation was for 9. That was not true but fine, we said we would go get a drink, but it was odd that the mother kept insisting that our reservation was at 9 rather than just apologizing and that being the end of it. When we returned, we again waited a long time even though the mother and son clearly saw us standing there and finally I had to ask the son roughly what timer w could be seated. I was greet with attitude and extreme rudeness. Then when my husband and I turned to leave he kept shouting«why» loudly, attracting the attention of the other customers, and embarrassing us. I am sure the food is good but when you have limited nights in a city you want good and kind service too, and Zeb does not have that. Absolutely do not recommend.

Perfecto! And anyone that doesn’t give this restaurant 5 stars doesn’t know food. Not only is the food & wine under priced but the food itself is 10 stars! I could dine here three times a week and in fact, during our week in Firenze, July 18−24th, we dined here on two occasions. The pear ravioli is out of this world. The Mom and Son duo create masterpieces. The service is outstanding plus I love the design and set-up of the restaurant. I wish I could transport this restaurant to New York City. Thank You very much Zeb!!!

This is an excellent place to go for lunch if you are traveling alone. Customers are seated on either side of the center area displaying all the food prepared for the day. The service feels very personal and the servers take care to make sure you are getting a quality experience. For lunch they offer two courses with a variety of options for each. I had the panzanella for the first course, a Tuscan bread salad, which was delicious. For my second course, I had a cod carpaccio garnished with these delectable little red peppercorns. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return on my next visit to Florence.

This place is the coolest most unique place we ate at so far in Italy! Run by mother and son duo, this place provides a gorgeous dining atmosphere and dishes that taste absolutely amazing and hand crafted!!! Favorite — large ravioli with ricotta stuffing, pear sauce. The way you are treated here makes it feel as though the meal will add up to over 300 $ but nope, decent prices plus spectacular service ;) Requires reservations!

Zeb is located away from the tourist crowds and on a little cute piazza. Zeb is a modern take of traditional Italian cooking. Amazingly good food priced very friendly. Our ravioli with pecorino and pear was outstanding. Simple but packed with flavor. Good quality ingredients and pasta taken to next level. Stop here and eat a well-made lunch. It really is worth it.

Although we only order antipasti items, everything we experienced was awesome. The meats and cheeses were perfectly prepared along with the artichokes. The wine was also fantastic. I think what made a great impression was how welcoming the staff was, we felt like we were«home». When we are back in Florence we will make sure this is one of our stops!

Try this place like you’re entering your loving home and your mom is cooking for you. Alberto and her mother are absolutely kind and they welcome you in their small, but cosy, restaurant where you can only eat sitting next to each others at the desk. My best friend picked it for we are soup addicted, although when we got there they had run out. The menu was so inviting that we forgot about the soups right away and tried different dishes. As a first course we had pumpkin ravioli with french sweet cheese and poppy seeds, ricotta ravioli with pear, both breathtaking. The bread served on the table was soon helping us in cleaning shiny the dish. Later we had a taste of wild boar, accompanied by a cheese and mortadella quiche, steam cooked fennel and a parmigiana with ricotta that was unbelievably light and super tasty! Gateaux-wise, we could choose between delicious homemade cakes, so we got a fruity one and were not disappointed! Thanks to the lovely crowd, the attentive and playful owner, the always caring presence of chef mom, we felt we were celebrating in our own family. Rain check on that soup though ;)

Deep into our month-long honeymoon spanning top restaurants in Paris, the Greek Isles, Rome, the Amalfi coast, and Florence, Zeb’s is the leader in the clubhouse by several strokes. Be mindful fellow Americans… Alberto will present and serve courses at his own pace. Do not rush him or your experience — this ain’t the Olive Garden — you’ll want it to last forever. The ravioli or spaghetti, both in olive oil and truffles, will take you to a place traditionally reached by psychedelic drugs. The pesto and the peposo — italian version of beef stew or pot roast without veggies — are not far behind the olive oil and truffle dishes. Several Trip Advisor reviews criticize the service, which is far from the truth. Alberto and his mother are sweet as pie. Don’t be pushy or close-minded tourists and you’ll be treated like royalty. To put my money where my mouth is, we made dinner reservations as we finished our lunch at Zeb’s, and will be back a third or fourth time. And I’m not scared to admit our chances of visiting Florence again are much greater after eating at Zeb’s.

Had one of my favorite meals here after spending 2 weeks in Crotia, Rome and Florence. The menu changes every day and we got 4 pastas and 3 secondis to share between 4 people along with a bottle of wine for 105 euro(it was only that much because we got 2 truffle pastas). The other pastas and secondis were 9 – 10 euro each. Not huge but still good sized. The pastas were glorious! 3 out of the 4 where cooked perfectly al dente. 1 was still cooked well but not quite as al dente. Definitely try to pici shaped pasta with any of the sauces as its made in house(shape wise it’s like bucatini or a thicker spaghetti). My fav was the ragu, but we also tried pesto, white truffle ravioli and black truffle pasta — and all were super delicious. The secondis were good as well! My fav was the meatball which was so soft and tender. Also got the ribs which were well flavored but not quite fall of the bone and the eggplant parmigiana was good but not as notable as the other dishes. He recommended a fantastic bottle of wine as well. This place only seats 15 so you might want to make a reservation to be safe.

From the friendly and knowledgeable owner, to his mom working tirelessly in the kitchen preparing the amazing dishes, Zeb is a perfect spot to stop by and have lunch. Besides the great hospitality of the owner my favorite part was to be able to eat in a wine and cheese shop, with many of the dishes displayed right in front of you so you could make your selection. This sounds like the food may get overcooked or old tasting but the dishes the chef selects are prefect for this type of dining. Of course the pastas are prepared fresh to order. Don’t miss the Truffle pasta or my favorite the amazing Pesto pasta. From the warmer we tried the Lasagna and the Rabbit stuffed with Liver. Both dishes were superb especially with the Chianti chef recommended. Zeb is across the bridge and not in a super touristy area which brought even more joy when casually enjoying our prefect lunch. I can’t say I will be back to Florence anytime soon but if I were to make it back Zeb would be one of my first stops.

Bref, foncez ! Vous né le regretterez pas.
