Delicate and tasty. Not too expensive. Recommend the 4 raw fishes starter, it’s artistic with 4 kinds of sauce. Pork, Ravioli is also good. Really enjoyed our meal.

We had a long lingering lunch, enjoying a platter of meats and cheeses, plus two courses each, skipping dessert because simply there was no room for it. The waitress recommended a gorgeous bottle of wine to accompany our meal. The service was impeccable, the food delicious, the ambience lovely with a quiet hum from both tourists and locals and a big glass window at the front enabled diners to people watch and admire a typical Venice scene of narrow passage and a bridge. We arrived when it was busy and were one of the last to leave. Highly recommended.

This was one of our nicer meals in Venice… we liked the modern casual feel of this restaurant, all the wait staff were very courteous and nice during our visit. We shared the mixed fish appetizer which was visually stunning and fun to eat. So it was off to a good start. we also had the primi course, Drew had the orange potato gnocchi w/duck ragu and spinach smoothie base… really tasty but the gnocchi are so small I kinda prefer them a little larger personally… I had the clams and spaghetti and they were perfectly cooked with the right amount of seasoning and portion. I was very happy to try these since I’ve never had them before and wanted to try them while in Venice. I had the fish of the day which I think was seabass that night served with vegetables but they put it in a broth too … I didn’t really want that but it was good… I’m just not a seafood soup kind of person and was a little disappointed with my choice but it still tasted good. Drew had the seabream stew(he like fish with soups) and he thought he could have ordered better as well… It almost looked like the same vegetables and broth as mine but his had maybe a bit more tomato… if you like this kind of thing you should get it… Drew said it was ok… I think if we were there for a longer period of time we would go back and try different mains but we really enjoyed the evening here. Great modern food, priced for what its worth, and I can recommend it to others no problem. I think they are doing a wonderful job bringing modern twists to the regional choices. I’d also like to try for lunch as well.

I’m disappointed to say that this but, was by far the worst food that I had while in Italy. First off, this place LOOKS amazing, hip and fun interior — nice little touches all around. Now, the service wasn’t bad, but I cannot say that we felt like our server was at all excited about serving us… which is a shame because we’re the type of american who do tip even though it’s not needed. Now the food, I cannot say that the food was made in correctly or that it wasn’t «up to snuff» in a sense of the culinary world, however — I personally did not care for it at all. I personally do not care for spaghetti with the raw or «tartare» meat on the bottom. If you’re a particular eater, go for the cheese platter which was not bad — and get a peach Bellini.

This was my last dinner in town and so unexpected. Started with a spritz and stuck with unique seafood. Appetiser of cod and creamy polenta matched with an onion sorbet topped with lardo all of these on blinis. My pasta was on the chef menu. Ravioli carbonara with a shellfish tartare. If i could i would come back so i can try other items on the menu.

Wonderful little restaurant over in Dorsoduro, a nice stroll away from the chaotic, overpriced San Marco tourist trash places you’ll find. Some genuine local food, with people who actually speak Italian! The cuttlefish ink spaghetti was excellent, felt homemade, and tasted delicious. The gnocchi with duck ragu was also wonderful, super soft melt-in-your-mouth gnocchi. Portions weren’t very large, everyone in the restaurant seemed to have polished off their plates, but you won’t leave very hungry. Drank a beer and a campari spritz. Waiter spoke several Languages which was nice.

Our best meal in Venice! Beef tar tar was delicious. Thanks Stephen D. Even the less adventurous eaters loved it. A bit more pricey than other $$ places we tried, but much better. Staff was knowledge and helpful. Unlike like other restaurants, no sales gimmicks or pressure to order food we did not want. Great presentation. Apparent the chef took pride in the food, not in taking your money. One of the few joints without an employee out front trying to lure you in.

This was our last meal in Venice, before we went back home to our sad lives not in a town filled with enchanting canals and delicious food. I remember the beef tar tare was the standout of the night. The menu is so creative and just wacky enough without deterring people from trying new things. Our server was really helpful and the beer/wine selection was really great too! I would dine away from the door and away from large parties, it could get really loud.

Was here tonight and ordered the roast pig with green apples. It was good but nothing extraordinary. The beer we ordered tasted plain and the bottle said best served by 5÷29÷14, which was 4 months ago. They did provided good customer service and took it off our bill when we found out, which was nice if not expected. Apparently a whole shipment of expired beer was received at the restaurant and the owner did not know.

Great place off the beaten path. Recommended by Fodors and turned out to live up to the recommendation. We started with a salad — yes they do let you eat out of order!- which is a «compose» it yourself, then the mussel and clams soup, then fried squid, shrimp and vegetable. All was different and very good except the fried veggies. Too much breading. Salad was very fresh! Service was great, had some Sauv Blanc by the glass that was very good and cheap — £3.5 — but still typical Venice small pour. Atmosphere great, sit inside but can watch all the folks walk past –and did I say great service? Highly recommended. Make your way here — fun to walk outside the usual tourist area too!

A solid 4 stars. We had a table for five by the street. It’s amazing being able to look out and watch people go by. The dishes were very well presented and executed. Veal cartilage was excellent, soured onions and chickpea purée complementing the stringy cartlilage. Rabbit was a little salty and I just did not like it all that much. Tasted a little like overpriced ham. Swordfish(fish of day) was juicy and tasty. So fresh and nothing could have been better. Codfish with favala beans was grilled excellently, a very unique combination. Seabass was seared well and very fresh, we’ll balanced and simple flavors. Roast Suckling pig did not have crackle in skin, disappointing. Flavor was good though. Dessert — I was too full. Nonetheless it was good chocolate and the brother devoured it.

We were in Venice for two months and this was a favorite. The bacala mantecato preparation was the best we found. Their salads are terrific, as is the chicken schnitzel. Very congenial and attentive service.

Grilled octopus my heart does sing!!! Perfectly prepared tender with ricotta, pesto pumpkin and a veggie I don’t know. The black pasta with seafood was also good as was the wine 2.50 euro. They had only an hour for us to eat before a reservation and it worked!

The pastas are definitely their strong point. The grilled chicken was cooked okay but lacked any flavor. A dash of spices would have done the trick. It is a moderately trendy restaurant but still has a casual ambiance. Prices were very reasonable and service was good. House red/white wines are very cheap and tasty. Sauté of mussels and clams with cherry tomatoes and bread toast Spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce and basil Tagliatelle with pesto Grilled chicken breast with roasted potatoes
