A truly decent meal. We needed a lunch spot where we could get a plate of penne pasta with butter sauce only(a fickle six year old eater) and a couple of nice glasses of wine. We found it — and more — at the Dona Onesta Restaurant. The place is just genuinely friendly and the food is honestly good. The vegetable soup is fantastic. A homemade meal that hits the spot on a cold, raining March day when fighting the crowds for walking space on becomes a bit too much. The service is very fast and approachable and the menu offers a little something for every eater — including a finicky 6-year old. Well worth a stop for lunch or an early evening meal if you find yourself meandering the anastomosing streets of Venice.

We came here for our last meal in Italy and I was very happy with this decision. I started with their vegetable soup which was simple and delicious. The squidink polenta was also very good because they grill the polenta which gives it a bit for flavor. And their catch of the day was also seasoned an grilled perfectly. The waiters were extremely friendly and helpful. We obviously finished with a tiramisu and this was a great last stop to end our trip.

Found this quaint little restaurant when looking for a place to eat at 4:00PM(how foolish of us). Owner waved us inside but didn’t speak English(a definite plus). Ordered the risotto ai funghi for 2 and the John Dory alla milanese. My wife had the Scaloppina vino blanco. Everything was delicious! Half litre of house red and a cappuccino later and we are ready to take on the busy streets of Venice again! Will definitely come back again(if we can find it)!!
