The coffee was good. Nothing to write home about. And I rarely care about this, but the staff were just so NOT friendly. Hmmmm. Odd.

Excellent coffee and baked goods. Not much seating, but great for carry away or outside seating if it’s a nice day.

Best coffee in town. Also open at 6:30a– perfect after a morning of sunrise catching/elk dodging. Frittatas and quiches are great. Grab a pastry on the way out.

A modern café with excellent and quick service. We ordered cappuccino and chai latte. Both were good. We also ordered a veggie frittata, which was also a good snack.

Attached to a local Banff hotel, we tried Whitebark prior to a full day in town. It was really crowded on this Saturday morning around 11am… we were not able to get a seat inside at one of the few counter seats, but luckily we found a place in the adjoining hotel lobby. I ordered a regular coffee, which was very tasty while my friend had the Chai(which she loved). Our service was good and the prices were in line with most of the venues in the Banff area. We may try to squeeze one more visit in prior to heading back to the states… give this place a try!

OMG I loved their walnut/dates squares. Those dang dessert treats were the best thing I’ve had in a long time. Unfortunately when I tried to purchase more of them in subsequent days they were sold out of them. Bummer. It’s many days later now and I’m still dreaming of those delicious squares… Lots of people rave about this café, but I was disappointed it was smaller than I expected. It’s actually a tiny storefront that’s part of a hotel. Sure, there are a few counter seats in the front but that’s all that’s available for seating. No tables. No couches. Etc. So it really doesn’t have a warm environment for spending lots of time. But it is very clean and contemporary decorated, so it guess it has that going for it. Plus, when the weather is nice outside there is a nice patio for outdoor seating.

Hands down one of my favorite cafes in Banff. We went to some other coffee shops, but the coffee didn’t compare to this place. We came here twice during our weekend trip. The lattes are pretty amazing. I had the banana bread, and it was SO good. My friend had herself the frittata — she said it was really good and filling.

This place is amazing. Open early. Great people watching seats both indoors and out. A plug. Free WiFi(maxed out at about 2 hours). Comfy seats. Funky vibe. Amazing bathrooms shared with the hotel next door. Excellent, fast and friendly customer service. What made it really stand out though was its crustless quiche. As someone who doesn’t eat grains, I was so thrilled to find this. You know, so I could eat. :) The mocha was the most unusual I’ve ever had. They blended cocoa with it! Not syrup, not mix, not chocolate milk. Cocoa. A lot of it. High quality, and bitter. Seriously divine and a complete surprise.

Pretty limited menu, but what they do they do well. Nice space(though very small if the patio isn’t an option). Friendly staff. Mocha is good. The bread that comes with entrees is salty in a delicious way.

Best espresso in Banff. Ordered a flat white and cappuccino, both were excellent. The barista was friendly and knew how to use the La Maazocco.

Sadly power was out so only got a drip coffee with bacon cheese scone. Bought a cup for a souvenir so I’m excited :)

Mocha, absolutely top notch. So creamy and rich, didn’t taste like a fake powdered chocolate was put in, but instead a nice dark chocolate melted inside a creamy coffee. I have nothing bad to say at all.

Quick friendly service, and a chai latte on par with anything in Edmonton. The bacon, cheddar, apple scone was also quite delectable.

Perfect little coffee shop in Banff. Went here several times while in town for incredible cups of coffee. Fresh baked scones and banana bread were amazing. Even something like a regular old yogurt parfait was top notch. Highly recommend.

This was the first ever café I visited, when I first arrived in Banff. It’s excellent, the baristas know how to make a coffee. Not to mention the small cakes, I always get the coconut macaroon, I normally don’t like macaroons, but Whitebarks coconut macaroon is so delicious! This place is where I go for good coffee. The café is small, but it’s charming.

The granola bowl was pretty good, but there was was way too much yogurt in the dish. To drink, I had an Americano, which was easily the best coffee I’ve had in Banff. Skip the Starbucks, go to whitebark. I would recommend this place for a quick breakfast or delicious coffee break.

Coming from Australia, I’ve been looking for a good specialty coffee place. They have a La Marzocco mashine and all the righr equipment, so I was hopefull. Unfortunately while this place is probably good for local standards, the blend is not too refined and latte art was only very basic on both our coffees.

Banff is too touristy to be a food lovers haven — the captive audience seems to allow anything to pass. Whitebark gets high ratings because it’s probably the best café in town, but don’t get your hopes too high. Cute and sincere.

This is a really great coffee shop in downtown Banff. I really like the design concept: it is clean, modern, and very cute! I believe it is associated with the Banff Aspen Lodge, so I expected prices to be a little more than usual. Regardless, I had a cortado(espresso with warm milk) and a muffin that I cannot recall. This was the first espresso that I am satisfied with at Banff. The muffin was moist and complimented my drink perfectly. The baristas were very friendly and made a really cute latte art for me. I highly recommend this place.

After reading rave Unilocal reviews and after a Canmore localite recommended White Bark, we came here on a hot summer day to grab a cold drink. Their regular menu of hot drinks is displayed and the summer menu of cold drinks is placed next to the counter. We got a iced mocha and took a seat outdoors. The outdoor courtyard is beautiful and you’d want to sit there during a good weather day. The mocha was fab! They know how to make their drinks. Highly recommend when you are in Banff.
