DEFINITELY the BEST seafood chowder I’ve ever had in my life!!! The other appetizers we had were outstanding! As was the service! SO glad I stumbled onto this gem accidentally… I will come back to Barrie just for Fitz’s!!!

Location was great and place had a ton of potential. It fell short on cleanliness and food, so we will not be going back. Too bad

Drinks are quite unique and served in style. Prices are reasonable and location is great — right in the heart of downtown Barrie. Service was exceptional. We had a shrimp appetizer, which was perfectly cooked and very flavourful. Our steaks were cooked as requested, although these lacked flavour. The Caesar salad was quite large and packed with cheese. This was probably our best option that night. All in all a great downtown bar/restaurant experience. Parking can be a bit of a pain depending on how busy the downtown core is.

Showed up on Labour Day with a group of 15, so our experience may not be representative. The patio has a great view but is small. Service was sub– average, no bread to start or water served without a request. No kids menu or gluten free menu. Jambalaya was excellent tho.

Seeing as they deleted my long form review. This place is horrible, the service, food, drinks are terrible. The cook is rude and unskilled. Honestly this place needs to reboot or do everyone a favor and close.

Another property in the Fitzy’s group that peppers the downtown core of Barrie, Fitzy’s Crabshack and Wine Bar was a welcome surprise in the heart of Barrie. The reasonable appetizer and entrées prices are even more so when one actually receives their food and sees the size of the meal. I had the Escargot to start, which come in a mini salad with nacho chips(weird) but none-the-less was an enjoyable interpretation. The Cesar Salad is also large and comes with a healthy helping of cheese. Fitzy’s Famous Jambalaya was delightful, and came with a healthy helping of fresh mussels to boot. Overall I’d recommend a visit to the Crabshack, as it is a delightful seafood joint in the heart of the city.
