The Works

So many choices… I had a Juicy Lucy and boy was it delish! As a side, I thought I would try the coleslaw… perfectly zesty with a bite! Paired with a glass of «Barking Squirrel» lager, it turned out to be the perfect late dinner. I must say though, next time I’ll share a burger… way more food than I usually eat!

This was my second time ever eating at The Works (the first at this location not surprisingly). I wanted a quick spot to order take out while I was in Barrie, and decided on The Works, as it’s a place I’m familiar with having eaten at the establishment before.
Their menu is quite extensive, but if you arrive during lunch they also have a lunch menu that’s less cumbersome. I ended up having the Man Cave burger, which included a side in which I chose fries.
Considering how busy the restaurant was, they managed to prepare my burger in 15 minutes, which was quite impressive. The fries were decent, but definitely a bit on the salty side. The burger itself was also good, and they were quite generous with the ingredients in my burger. The patty wasn’t too juicy, but you can tell it’s natural and they didn’t add any artificial hormones or the like.
Service when ordering was very good, and I should commend the waitresses for knowing every single burger in their extensive list and what it consists of. It really helped me quite a bit in deciding my burger of choice.
Price was on the high end for the burgers, which will mean I wouldn’t eat at The Works unless it’s for a special occasion or if I have money to spend.

Great view. Friendly and attentive staff. Plenty of burger options that would impress even the most extreme burger enthusiast. Had the blue burger but had the blue dressing on the side. Kids size is great for even the hungriest kiddo. Love the bottomless fries with specialty burgers.

First time here. My wife & I along with my 11 yr old had a good dinner here. Soooo many options and we did take our time to order because the menu choices were so large. I ordered the Greek burger with special chips. My wife had a WBLT Sammy with coleslaw and my daughter had a HoHum with cheese with fries. Burgers were excellent as with the sammy. Well portioned with ample condiments. The sides were appropriate in size vs price and I especially liked the coleslaw. The drinks — an iced tea and milk shake were tasty and came in glass measuring bowls. Only pet peeve was they claimed an ice cold beer so I ordered a tall can of coors light where the mountains were not blue and the taste proved it was not ice cold. The server did bring out a cold glass which helped. All in I would give 4 stars but
We did wait a bit to order & a bit of a wait for food. We didn’t get silver ware until requested. Our server seemed very good and quite pleasant and accommodating but seemed like she had too many tables. Look forward to another visit:)

Awesome place to grab one of many burger varieties. Tastes good and is intresting

I ordered the dead ringer here since it was on the lunch specials menu. I don’t know what the heck they’re doing in Barrie, but this in no way resembled the dead ringer I had in the Brampton Works location. The «brisket» was dry and grey like old boiled meat. There was barely a hint of barbecue sauce on the burger. The burger patty was dry and over cooked. Even the bun, the bun I loved so much in the Brampton location, was kind of dry and a bit stale tasting here. The sweet potato fries were also underseasoned and had a weird texture. Not impressed, Barrie The Works. Not impressed at all. Luckily I live close by to a much better The Works location.

Good food but slow service. I have been here twice, the first time the food was good, lots on the menu to choose from. Service was slow, but the restaurant was busy at the time.
I went again recently and sat there for a while before they took my drink order (water). After approximately 20 minutes they hadn’t yet taken my food order so I left. If they had perhaps acknowledged me during that time I may have stuck around but they said they were coming to take my order once then never really came back… waitresses were walking back and forth the whole time so I’m not sure what the holdup was but I did not have the time to wait around.
The restaurant did not look busy at all but maybe they had more people upstairs. I think this location could benefit from having a manager working more often.

A good place to try if you like burgers and you like variety.
Portion sizes are decent, though the side of broccoli is a bit puny. Fries (likely cheaper to produce) are piled on in heaps.
Service is fast and friendly. Some of the waitstaff are a little too ‘on’ for my taste, but that’s a minor nuisance.
Prices are fair for quality and quantity of food.
I recommend the Love Goat, but their turkey is a bit dry so go with chicken if you want to eat a bird-​ger.
