I was like mad hungry and craving burgers for over an hour so could not wait to check this place out. I wish they had A/C because it was boiling hot that day and even though we sat under a fan, I was still sweating. My date and I got a 4 beer sampler(they have a different selection daily and provide you with 6oz of each kind). We also ordered two burgers, poutine, and a cobb salad. I absolutely loved the food — it was in plentiful supply, made with fresh ingredients, and put together thoughtfully. Our server was so attentive. She kept filling up on our waters, making sure we liked everything, and bringing us whatever we needed. A great place to go if you like big yummy burgers and attentive service!

I have been dying to try this place but ended up pretty disappointed. I started with the spinach dip as an app. It was alright but there was a big hunk of cream cheese or something that didn’t get mixed in properly, so you were just dipping the chips in cream cheese… I was kind of upset that the only veggie burger option was the black bean quinoa. I tried it and it just all fell apart and turned to mush. didn’t taste like much either.

Tried the sweet potato poutine with corn and black bean salsa. It was hearty, very filling and the gravy was vegetarian! Tasty and a great size too. I need to figure out how to make my own! Service was a bit lacking when we were stuck in the back room, but otherwise I look forward to my next visit and trying the black bean and quinoa burger.

Went with a couple of friends after doing the Flying Monkeys tour. Great burgers! Messy, big and delicious, they offer a wide variety of burgers, meat, bread, veggies, sides. Portions are generous, not expensive, good service. They have flat screens inside, we watched the Raptors game as we ate.

Came here with my family, which included little kids. They had chicken fingers, sliders, and grilled cheese for the kids. All options were enjoyed by the 9, 7, and 3 year old. I had the porky burger, on brioche bun with a side of onion rings and a poutine. The onion rings and poutine were great. Unfortunately the pulled pork and beef patty were overcooked and lacked in sauce and was quite dry. The servers were nice.

This place is good! High quality BIG burgers… though you do pay for what you get but it’s worth it. Warning: If you get the Mexican burger it will be SPICEY! They’re not kidding! The beer is a little pricey as I think I paid $ 22 for a pitcher of something pretty generic. I’d go back for sure.

Located on main downtown strip in Barrie. Place has a fabulous back patio. As a vegetarian I’m always keen to try a good veggie burger but sadly this one misses the mark. The burger is a bean/rice concoction that turns mushy and falls apart as you attempt to eat it. Fries were ok. I prefer a chunkier fry but the only ones on offer were of the skinny variety. Service & ambience were great. I just found the food to be a let down.

Nice food, perfect service. We ordered one chicken fingers, cause we both not that hungry. They served it on two plate.

Duddeeees, this burger spot is hot fire… Amazing beer on tap, crazy awesome choices for burgers or just customize your own, the patties are on point, so juicy and great. Heck even if you get the fried chicken patty oh mannnn I tried some of my friends(their servings are massive so lots to share) and it was ridiculous good! OH!!! I almost forgot the breakfast poutine… yup, eggs and bacon, curds n gravy… makes me drool thinking about it. This is THE spot for a good eat when you are crusing down Dunlop and you cant decide which spot to hit. If you haven done it… do yourself a favor. DOITUP

Simply put, this is the best burger in Barrie. Pair that with a large selection of craft beers, and it doesn’t get much better. The burgers are always flavorful, and cooked to a medium doneness. Some might have an issue with this, but they are doing it right here. And for what it’s worth, my wife says they have the best bean burgers she’s had. And, the jalapeño poppers rock. Obviously made in house, no frozen junk here.

Waited an hour and a half for our food. Half our poutines were cold and sent back. One burger was raw in the middle and sent back. The regular poutine is good(if hot). The waiter was nice enough to give us a break on the bill due to the incredibly long wait and cold food but still the experience sucked.

Nice décor, but the Burger meat was bland. No flavour. The fries were overcooked, and hard. Out of three plates, no one had a good meal. Absolutely disgusting food. At the price, you would expect better. The only plus of the place e was the server. She was prompt and polite, but kitchen staff wasn’t worth the 18 bucks a plate. I’d rather McDonalds and that says something.

Yes, Barrie’s made it big. The streets are no longer patrolled by hopeless drunks picking fights with retirees. They have now taken that indoors(let me get to that later). This place is hip and happening and deservedly so! The space inside is beautiful, cozy and inviting; a bar/pub at it’s finest. But it all pales in contrast as you are lead past that into the heated backyard patio. With the warm yellow glow of the dangling wire lights, the eerie shadows casting from the gas fire warmers and the rustic looking benches and tables this place really looks like a giant backyard party. Aesthetics aside this place delivers! The service was great and the menus are simple yet somehow offer a seemingly infinite number of choices. There are so many customization you can make to your burger you will never have to visit Harvey’s again! Ok, that’s a bad comparison because this place is leagues and bounds above that. So yeah back to my story. A fight broke out in the patio and it was entertainment at it’s finest. Definitely a cool place to chill, grab a drink and awesome burgers. Just make sure you don’t stand at the bar too long or you just might get involved in a WWE like brawl.

Excellent craft beer list, however I’ve never been pleased with the food I’ve ordered. The burgers are soppy and undercooked, the poutine is hardly drenched with cold, barely melted cheese, and the salad is woefully underdressed. With all that said however the drinks menu is great and the back patio is a hidden Oasis on Dunlop. I wouldn’t recommend the front as they often have live music playing that is poorly mixed. They have a great location, and decent service, but the food and atmosphere really needs to improve.

Great vibe, amazing music, and delicious food. Definitely coming back here! I had the Californian Black Bean & Quinoa burger on a Pretzel bun(avocado, pepper jack cheese and roasted red pepper instead of bacon w/Chipotle Mayo). Absolutely delicious. Side of Garlic Parmesan Fries… yum! Can’t wait to come back! Tip: don’t put your burger down! The topping deliciousness will fall apart… just keep eating!!!

Amazing burgers and a solid craft beer line up. This is quickly becoming one of my go to places in Barrie. The Parmesan fries are hit and miss, I think it depends on who’s in the kitchen… Every Burger I have ever had was spectacular and they all pair extremely well with a Boneshaker IPA. The back patio, not the one on the street, but the one in the back is Barrie’s best kept secret. This patio is best enjoyed at twilight. #cheers

Well, I went here with my nephew because he had seen it featured on TV. I must admit the burger was good. I wasn’t thrilled with the fries, either potato or sweet potato. The waitresses were good, and clearly selected with emphasis on their cute-factor. It was pretty quiet at lunch – I bet it gets boisterous at night. Being downtown, you will need to find parking. If burgers are your thing, it’s worth going out of your way to eat here, but they(wisely) have lighter fare.

Gone are the days when downtown Barrie was strictly for nightlife and by day the only places to eat was a Hooters and a few forgettable spots. Now there’s an endless number of options providing quality grub and an amazing selection of craft beer and cocktails. Kenzington is no different and providing a calorie count of creative eats that will make your heart stop… and I should know, I ate there. The space is massive, 20 – 30 foot ceilings in the main bar area filled with televisions a huge bar and lots of tables, a more intimate tavern– esque space to the back, a private dining room off the back room and an impressive back walled in by reclaimed wood and a fully stocked patio bar. The burger selection, actually the entire menu selection, reads like food based erotica. Bacon, chicken, peameal, poutine, and on and one and on. The burgers are the main attraction here for sure(hence the Burger Bar name) they have 5 distinct categories each with between 2 – 4 options. The beauty is you get to choose you bun(brioche, pretzel or grilled cheese sandwiches) and your sides. I was feeling ambitious and picked the«In training» burger off the ‘Crazy’ portion of the burger menu. In training comes with Lettuce, Onion, tomato, Cheddar, bacon, peameal bacon, Jalapeño popper, poutine, onion ring, and a fried egg. Served up it’s taller than a traditional pint glass and requires some serious prep work in order to get your mouth around. The burger was incredible! That’s all I will say, it was messy, but who cares about messy, it was delicious. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was my choice of Sweet Potato Fries, I felt they were kinda meh next to the burger tower I had just taken down. I was intrigued by their challenge burger known as The Kitchen Sink which requires 24 hours notice to order. As we were leaving I saw someone order one and it was a monster. I’m intrigued to try it but the; 1lb of beef, half a head of lettuce, 1 onion, 1 tomato, 6 slices of cheddar, 6 pieces of bacon, 4 pieces of peameal, 3 jalapeño poppers, 3 fried eggs, poutine and onion rings on a pretzel bun, scares me to my core… I’m coming back, maybe not for the whole kitchen sink, but definitely everything else Eatcrest Out

Rodeo fried chicken wrap was amazing! Mushroom melt poutine was kind of a disappointment. Gravy wasn’t hot enough and the fries were really salty. The wings were fantastic. The porky burger was really good but the garparm poutine had a bit too much rosemary flavour to it. Service was great. All in all, a great experience.

First time I went was for the food. Enormous and highly customizable burgers that will leave you satisfied and ready for a nap. Next time I went for some drinks, having left another bar that took to long to serve me, and was taken care of immediately by friendly and attentive staff. Place is great, all in all, just gets a bit loud and cramped at night. But that’s to be expected I guess and it’s my only nitpick.
