There order size was good. The batter is light and very fresh. Will be back again. The fish and chips are great. The clams are too small though.

I had the single fish and chips end of July 15. $ 7.99 plus tax. Firstly, the fish portion was pretty small. It wasn’t the tastiest either, though satisfactory. The fries were, to my taste, cut too thin and over cooked. Quite a lot of them though. Comparing the value with, say, Maxwell’s Plum, I’d have to say I am thoroughly under impressed.

Ordered the fried clams. They were served raw. Unilocal likes you to write a longer review, but what else is there to say? When asked about it, the staff said they were cooked«on the light side» and offered to throw a partially eaten box of clams back in the fryer. So, with that basic bit of knowledge regarding the hygiene of the place, I promptly left.

Yum yum yum! Nothing beats really good, hot, fresh fish and chips and this truck has that! The batter is light and crispy but not too greasy. Fries are fresh and the service was friendly and fast! The clams are amazing! Not really anywhere to sit but grab and go for a car picnic is a great option!

Went there for supper tonight. My new favorite has become Maritime poutine, the new name for the old TBF Poutine. It is poutine with hand cut fries, great gravy and curds and topped by 4 or 5 haddock bits($ 6.99). Yum. My partner had fish sticks, 4 slender pieces of fish with a breading instead of the regular beer type batter. The breading was nicely spiced and herbed before being deep fried. A very yummy supper for $ 6.99

After attending a fabulous wedding the night before, poutine was a necessity. We drove down to Bedford and stopped at the Battered Fish truck. I ordered the seafood version of poutine called the Maritimer(Hand cut fries and cheese curds topped with a rich and tasty beef gravy + haddock tips). All items are cooked to order, so we grabbed a picnic table and patiently waited. In 5 – 10 minutes our number was called and my carton of freshly cooked poutine was ready. The haddock tips were larger than I expected and perfectly crispy, placed on top of the gravy, curds and fries, so they are not covered in gravy(unless you decide to mix it up). I enjoyed the haddock on its own, and then dove in to the poutine. They were perfect. This dish is best enjoyed right out of the fryer, so I suggest you eat at the Battered Fish, rather than get it to go. Otherwise it could become soggy and lose its appeal. FYI — they accept debit and credit. As luck would have it, farmers from Kentville were parked nearby and selling DELICIOUS strawberries from their car, so we bought a carton. No idea if that was a one day deal or if they are there often, but my taste buds are so glad we crossed their path.

This place is dangerously too close to my apartment. I’m a big fan of fried clams, and after a day at the beach I was craving them like nothing else. I remembered this truck was on the way home, so I decided to stop and see what they had to offer. Oh my God, these clams. The batter was flaky and crisp, the clams themselves were chewy and fresh and the fries were pretty good too. They had various dips for them, but I just like my clams drenched in vinegar. Still, I tried their own special sauce to see what it was like, and I really enjoyed the spicy kick it had. The only complaint I have is that everything on their menu comes with fries. I would have gotten a lobster roll to go with my deep fried goodness, but I didn’t need extra French fries. I think it would be smart to offer their seafood as separate options too, as well as having them with fries. If I could stop off for a order of just clams or shrimp, I would. Often. Probably too often, come to think of it.

I tired out the Battered Fish a few times last summer and really enjoyed it. After my fist visit this year my opinion has gone down big time. I tried the Seafood Tacos, which are haddock tips with cabbage and«white sauce»(tasted like mayo). The fish was good and cooked well but they majorly lacked flavour. I also tried the sweet potato fries and was 100% disappointed. I took them home to eat(8 min drive) and they were so soggy by the time I got there they were basically not edible, I ended up tossing more then half. One positive note both the sauces that came with the fries were really good,(a special sauce and a wasabi mayo).

Talk about a cute little road side«food truck» and you have the battered fish! I have been to locations in the Scotia Square food court, but most recently to the Bedford Highway location. Keep in mind that this is a food truck, no inside seating, no washroom, but if you are looking for excellent fish and chips, or clams and chips, or shrimp and chips, this is your place. Was there on a cold Sunday afternoon, with my husband and my daughter, we were hungry! We split the 2 piece fish and chips and an order of the coconut shrimp and chips, plus a couple of bottles of old fashion pop. We had more then enough food for the 3 of us. The fish is lightly battered, cooked perfect, and served with either homemade tartar sauce«regular» or spicy, both are excellent! Fries are perfect, but it was the shrimp that stole the show and will be my go to item in future. They were large, perfectly battered and cooked, and a large order, I think that there must have been about 10 per order. Hot and fresh. Prices might be considered a bit high here given that it is a food truck, however keep in mind that the quality is very high, and the portions are big, you could easily split a 2 piece with 2 hungry adults and be satisfied. Could come close to some of the best fried fish that I have had, especially around Halifax! Nice bright red truck, cute fish logo, worth trying.

Yummy. There special sauce is way more interesting than tartar sauce: give it a try

Hand-cut fries and yummy battered fish. Don’t forget to try the other equally tasty items on the menu though like the poutine and fish tacos. Service is always friendly. Another great spot for take-out or hanging out at their picnic tables(weather permitting).

Another Fish and Chip to try! We love Fish & Chips! This is a cute little fish & chip truck located on the Bedford Hwy. You can’t miss it. It is bright red with a big yellow fish on the side. They will also have a location at the water front this summer. We stopped in here for an order. The fish was lightly battered and fresh. It tasted great, just crispy enough and not greasy. The gentleman who served us was friendly. I can’t wait for the one to open at the water front.
