This is a review of their indoors charity buffet dinner on April 18, price $ 15
This place gets curiouser and curiouser. I must say the all the food was delicious. There were some unique and sophisticated dishes, such as an amazing sweet potato pie. Really wonderful and yummy food.
However there was almost Mutiny on the Bounty before the dinner, when tickets were handed out so that you could get EXACTLY ONE dessert. We were informed that a second dessert would be $ 2 more. We were all looking at each other with a mixture of fear and annoyance. Then a lady came along and pressed a second dessert ticket into my hand, and refused to take it back when I explained that I already had one. I considered using it but decided I would probably look so guilty I would get caught, so finally returned it to the cashier. The thing is, when we went to get our ONE desserts, the portions were enormous, at least a quarter of a pie. Most people at these dinners like to try a couple of different home made desserts, there are so many to choose from, so large portions are wasted.
After church member feedback, I feel sure they will abandon the ridiculous idea of tickets restricting you to ONE ONLY dessert. I have suggested many times to the church ladies that they serve small portions of desserts and let people have more than one to taste instead of giant portions that get thrown away. But in the church lady power struggle there is little room for common sense.
