Some of my favourite words are«all», «day» and«breakfast». I’m a true breakfast fan. So when I read the reviews of Russell Williams Restaurant, I knew I’d have to check it out. And they were right. It’s a delicious step back in time. The diner décor is wonderfully dated.(Not in a kitschy way like the ‘50s diner chains, but in a genuine«we were there in the ‘70s» way). The walls, the floors, the chairs and even the dishes. It’s all like you might remember, just the way it was several decades ago. The food is great. Even though the restaurant is quite busy, the service is good — the servers are run off their feet, but cheerful and efficient — and the food all tastes homemade. I had my usual: eggs, home fries, toast, and coffee. Then I had the blueberry pie for dessert. It was all delicious. (My only complaint would be the washrooms. Some things should be updated now and then!)

This is a great breakfast spot. Food is fresh and uses quality ingredients. Really good value for the portions they give as well as efficient service. Best thing is coffee refills. Be prepared to lineup if you’re coming on a weekend. It really has an old diner feel and the menu is stacked with comfort food items.

Okay food and slow service. In a rush? Avoid. The food was okay, but not stellar. Sides cost $ 3 which means a sandwich will run you $ 9 – 12. The Service is god awful though. I was repeatedly forgotten about dying busy and slow times. My waiter would forget parts of my order. Lastly I was waiting for 15 – 20 minutes for her to return with my bill. It wasn’t until another party was leaving that I was able to ask to pay and leave. She forgot that earlier I had asked for my bill again.

My fav breakfast spot in Burlington! It’s like stepping into a time capsule when it comes to the décor and prices! Good is so good and service is always friendly — feels like home. I come here all the time and love it!

Great classic diner. Had the Russell Williams special and was so large that I spelt it with a friend. Constant coffee refills, but we were there on a Monday and it wasn’t that busy.

Now I know what people have been talking about. If you love a home style breakfast or meal, this is your place! Great place to take your significant other for brunch on a lazy Sunday, but be prepared to wait as lines form on weekends. Pancakes the size of your head and portions that you might not have eat the rest of the day. Enjoy!

To call this place ‘classic’ is a massive understatement since they’ve been there for several decades. The menu is about as stereotypically ‘Canadian’ as you can get with traditional breakfast items, burgers, turkey sandwiches, meatloaf, etc… But they remain popular amongst every age group for good reason. One is the incredible value and the menu prices look out of place by a decade or two. The other and most important reason is the quality of their food. For example: for their hash browns, you can taste that they’re cooked in real butter(rather than just oil or margarine). The pancakes are amongst the best I’ve had. The meat is always good quality, such as the hamburgers being homemade from fresh, high-quality ground beef. They do their own pea meal bacon as well. You can even taste the quality in basic things like their eggs, or that their cheese is actual cheese and not processed. There’s no extravagant cooking techniques or things that will absolutely floor you here, but there is an abundance of traditional comfort food, done really well(and for really cheap).

Classic place. Classic breakfast. Food is clean and tasty. Had the peameal and eggs and it was all cooked to perfection. Back bacon was juicy and thick and not too salty the way it should be. Service is prompt and coffee refills were abundant. Food arrived quickly. Left full and satisfied but with no tired post greasy meal feeling. Felt energized. The place hasn’t changed inside for decades and has that real, old school diner feel. Warm, friendly and comfortable. I like that when you are done eating you simply get up and go and pay at the front on your way out. Speeds things up if you are looking to have a good meal before work that doesn’t take an hour. Dont you change Russell Williams. Don’t you ever change.

Two eggs, two pancakes, two slices of bacon, two sausage links, ham, home fries, toast, and jam. Notice what’s missing from that list? An «or» conjunction in the meat list. You get all your breakfast meats. No having to stress out over bacon OR ham OR sausage. First world problem, sure, but I’m unapologetic. Plus you get all your other breakfast carbs. All for a smidge over $ 10. And bottomless coffee. The pancakes are great, big, and fluffy. The home fries are seasoned nicely. The bacon and ham are good. The sausage is the only weak link. It could have had a bit more pep. Oh, and it’s served all day. Service is friendly and quick as can be given the weekend brunch crunch. I like the plexiglass between seating rows. Reduces a bit of the noise. A real find out in Burlington.

I’ve tried all the breakfast restaurants on Plains Rd, and I keep coming back to Williams. Why? It’s hard to screw up breakfast, so I have to judge by the home fries… these are the best IMHO. I only wish they weren’t so busy, but it’s worth it.

I car pool to work with 3 other guys I work with. We all go for breakfast every Friday morning before we come to work. I must say this place is consistent in the food. My companions always order the same thing and sit and the same table and have to sit in the same chair…(techies). I switch up my order every time. I typically get one of the following for breakfast. Poached Eggs with bacon and brown toast with tomato Eggs over easy with bacon and brown toast with tomato Western Sandwich on brown Egg and bacon sandwich on brown The bacon is the best here they give you lots and it’s cooked perfectly to my liking. I wouldn’t recommend getting the fruit. On the weekend the place is rammed. So be prepared to wait. We have the same waitress every time we go and we love her.

Russell Williams has been described to me as «An institution» by several people and I finally got the chance to see whether it was one or belonged in one. Nestled in a relatively quiet neighbourhood, Russell Williams has been serving diner style grub to a regularly packed house for quite sometime. I would be amazed to find out that there were more than seven people under the age of fifty when I went which is kind of cool in my books. That says customer loyalty to me. The Hamilton Spec had a piece that mentioned Russell as the kind of place that people went to as kids and now take their kids. That comment came roaring home as soon as I walked in the door. It just looked like I stepped into my grandparent’s old basement. Everything is brown. The tables, chairs, walls and carpet have that old fifties faux«wood» look and I loved it. Don’t expect anything fancy here but do come prepared to eat. Portions are appropriate for hungry folk and I had a little trouble finishing off my home fries. I went with the two eggs, sausage and fries breakfast and was not disappointed. Two coffees a juice and breakfast ran me somewhere in the vicinity of eight bucks. If you’re in the area and are looking for simple eats then this is a good place to check out.
